Tomorrow I will be very busy. There is job to do. I have two doctor's appointments. I also have to pay the rent and some bills. On top of all that my battery in my watch needs to be replaced. Okay, I had the watch over 2 two years, but the time could have been better.

I had my physical therapy appointment today. The news is not good. My arches in feet are almost flat. I am not walking right on my right foot, which causes some of the pain in my hip. When the therapist tested the hip he said I had lost some movement in the hip. My hip hurts even worse when he was done with the tests. He said my problem is correctable, but I am very much tried of this pain. I have another appointment this Thursday.

I'm sorry to hear about your feet and leg problems! It seems us women are more prone to joint issues than men are.

I have flat feet, bad knees and a sciatic nerve problem which gives me back and leg problems. Want me to share my Vicodin with you? O_o:nono:

Sorry about your pain, Odie. You have my sympathy. Having worn combat boots in the Air Force, then again while a member of the Army National Guard, I can appreciate the problem with flat feet, as I do as well. I also have a leg that is short than the other, so I wear orthotics that both correct for bad arches and a lift for one leg. I haven't had any hip problems, yet, but I see a chiropracter regularly due to lower back pain. Again, Odie, I am sorry for your pain. I will pray for you, that a remedy can be found so you can get back to "normal".

Thanks, RC, Kyra_Ashleigh, and jaz4debo. :flex: Thursday appointment is to fit me with orthotics. I don't how long it will take or how more appointments I will have after the fitting.

@Kyra_Ashleigh, I agree with you it always seems we women have more joint problems. In someways its not fair. :flex:

Yesterday I got my orthotics. The one thing that I have noticed right away is that my hip had hurt less. As if a pressure was lifted. My still bothers me, but its not as painful as it was day before. Hopefully my hip will heal before they year is out.

My orthotics are starting to feel comfortable. That means they don't hurt my feet, somehow they lightly tickling me. Tomorrow I will see the person who will re-enlistment me. I can't wait to see him. Today is another boring duty. Got some painting done on the tug, had a BBQ, and having chili for dinner. Monday can't come soon enough. :o

It looks like winter has come early in my hometown. Its snowing! B) The snow will only last for a few days. There is downside in living Japan. I really do miss Buffalo's winters. :)

I have found an article on my hometown in the Albany Democrat-Herald. At first I thought it will be another story telling everyone how bad winters can get in Buffalo. But I was delightfully proven wrong. B) It gave a very positive spin on the place that I love to call HOME! I am starting to get homesick again. :)

Euhus finding it pays to be a Bill

It's taken Tim Euhus less than three months to learn that the Buffalo Bills are intertwined in Western New York's unique social fabric.

The Bills, the one-time Oregon State tight end has discovered, "are huge."

"It's a great place to play football," Euhus said Monday, the day after he'd scored his first NFL touchdown on a 12-yard pass from Drew Bledsoe in a 38-14 blowout of the Arizona Cardinals at Ralph Wilson Stadium. "Last week was the first time it hasn't been a sellout," at the 73,000-seat facility, "but there were still a lot of fans there."

"I've heard that Green Bay and Buffalo are a lot alike," that both regions are so tightly connected to their franchise that there's a collegiate-style atmosphere at every home game.

As this native of the region (East Aurora) can attest, Western New Yorkers and the Buffalo diaspora in the country live vicariously through their football team. The blue-collar Bills epitomize the character of a Rust Belt region that has been slammed economically since the steel mills and auto plants closed up shop in the mid-1970s.

When the Bills win, the bone-chilling wind and lake-effect snow squalls that validate Buffalo's reputation for miserable late fall/winter weather don't seem quite so nasty. When they lose, though, a palpable depression blankets the region and people are glum until the following Sunday.

Players are neighborhood heroes; prominent Bills like Bledsoe and Eric Moulds are mobbed when they appear in public. Super Bowl-era icons like Jim Kelly, Darryl Talley and Steve Tasker became community benefactors. Jack Kemp parlayed his popularity as a championship quarterback into a long tenure as a congressmen from a suburban district, a presidential cabinet position, and several attempts at the presidency.

Euhus and his wife, Michelle, live in a condominium in the leafy suburb of Orchard Park. It's a short drive to the stadium and adjacent indoor practice center, 25 minutes to the heart of downtown, and 30 minutes to the airport. More than 1 million people live in the metropolitan era, but the city has a small-town feel.

"I love this place; it reminds me of Corvallis," he said. "It doesn't look like Corvallis right now because the trees are starting to go bare and the snow is coming, but I don't have to get on a freeway to go to work.

"It's a lot like Corvallis, where our neighbors and our landlord knew we played football."

The Euhuses are minor celebrities in their little cluster of condos.

"Neighbors called after the game to congratulate us" for his first career TD, Euhus said. "The other day one of our neighbors, he's been a season-ticket holder for 27 years, brought me a set of nice metal coasters from each of the (Bills') Super Bowls for my birthday. That was a real cool gift.

"He brought over the great comeback film," a video commemorating Buffalo's 41-38 overtime victory over the Houston Oilers in the 1993 playoffs, when the Bills overcame a 35-3 deficit behind backup quarterback Frank Reich. "He brought over a whole card collection of Bills players, dating back to O.J. (Simpson) and those guys."

He describes his NFL experience as "surreal."

"Last week I played against Emmitt Smith. I've played against Deion Sanders, Rodney Harrison, Junior Seau ... . I watched those guys in Super Bowls when I was in middle school and now I'm playing against them.

"It's crazy. When I woke up this morning we turned on the radio and (the accouncer) was saying, ‘Tim Euhus caught his first TD pass as a Buffalo Bill,' and they played my sound bite."

It's also big business, with big money. The higher-paid veterans pool money for $500 or $1,000 unofficial performance bonuses for long kickoff returns, special-teams tackles, pancake blocks and the like.

"It's just a wild deal," he said. "I come from playing for the love of the game and a scholarship check. Here there's a lot of money and you have to keep things in perspective and make sure you're playing for the right reasons."

By almost anyone's standards, Euhus will make a ton of money playing professional football. But he's trying to remain frugal; his biggest expenditure was the down payment on his condo, and he splurged on a Chevy Tahoe that will be very practical once the snow starts flying next month.

"The Tahoe was more of a reward to myself for driving a 1986 GMC S-15 for most of college," he said. "It was a hand-me-down from my grampa, my cousin and my brother.

"There's a lot of history behind that thing but I thought, ‘Even if I don't play in the NFL I deserve a nice car,' " for scrimping as an undergrad.

He's also been introduced to Buffalo staples like wings and a roast beef on kummelweck sandwich, known locally as a "beef on weck." While house-hunting in East Aurora, a realtor took him to the Bar Bill Tavern, a lower Main Street establishment that's an institution in my hometown like the Peacock or Woodstock's are in Corvallis.

He's returned several times, with Ken Simonton, with his parents and his in-laws, and most memorably with teammate Dylan McFarland, a 6-foot-4, 290-pound offensive lineman from the University of Montana.

"The beef on weck is wonderful and they've got the biggest wings," Euhus said. "I took Dylan there and we got 20 medium-hot wings. We ate seven apiece and we were literally sweating.

"I couldn't feel my lips when I was done."

Thanks, Kyra_Ashleigh and RC. I blame the Navy on this one. If they didn't make me take part in Operation Golden Flow I won't have come near that curb that I triped over. If anyone wants to know what is Operation Golden Flow just PM me and I will explain.

This morning it is raining very hard. So hard the streets where flooding. ;) It took me 30 more minutes to get to work than normal. I was late, but I didn't get into trouble. :( My hip is still bothering me. I should lay down and put the heat pad on it. :frusty: I have been told it will take time for hip to heal, but sometimes I just my hip to feel normal. Is that too much to ask? ;) :tear:

Sorry to hear your hip's bothering you again. :frusty: Hopefully you're not having the same trouble getting adequate pain relief from your doctor as I have. :wallbash: It's easy for doctors to talk about time, but when you're in pain, time seems a LOT longer. It's amazing how dense doctors can be sometimes.

Have you checked out Pycnogenol Complexes? They work wonders for my hip pain when it flares up. Just a suggestion, check with your Dr. before taking it.

My problem is not really the hip, but with my feet. The arches in my feet are almost flat. When I had my daily run the shock of the run went to hip. Muscles around hip are stiff and I will take month for them to heal. Plus it didn't help the I trip on a curve couple days ago.

My hip only slight hurts from work, which is far better than last week. I think I am coming down with a cold. Right now I just have a small cough and slightly sore throat. I got some meds for it. Maybe if I am lucky this cold thing will only be very minor. :sly:

As many you are aware I got promoted to Petty Officer First Class today. When I found out I was very, very, very much surprised. No take that back, I was shocked. I still can't believe that I made first. To get promoted in the Navy as an enlisted person you have to take an exam. The exam is only taken twice a year. March and September. Last September was my first time take the the first class exam. I am very much surprised that I made first class first time taking the exam. :sly: Right now the frocking ceremony is schedule for next week. What that means on Monday I get to wear this on my uniforms!
