  1. I voted for the Horta, although I like them all. I first got into Trek when my youngest sibling was about 4. He loved Trek, but the Gorn scared him to death! He was prone to nightmares when he was little, and would walk in his sleep, so he would run out of the room when the Gorn came on. He never thought a lot of the amoebas that killed Kirk's family. He said it wasn't too scary when Spock was attacked by flying booger pizzas.

  2. VOY - I liked Paris and B'Elanna together.  Harry and anyone.  (How is it there's always one character that never gets the girl?)  Janeway and Tuvok might have been interesting.  Or Tuvok and Seven.

    Tuvok's married.

I know. And Janeway at least started the series in a dedicated relationship. I just said they might be interesting.

  3. Hm. I had to think about this one for a minute. That is actually one of the few eps from the last season that I have on tape.

The whole situation bothers me for multiple reasons, not the least being feeling sorry for Joseph Sisko. Here he is, in love with this woman, and she only is with him because she is possessed. He does find someone more suitable, but how painful!

But rape? Not on JS's part. In forcing this woman to do what she would not herself choose to do - that is the alien's fault. And the alien did not rape her. But what word could you use for it?

And that poor woman, too, as was already mentioned. Waking up, "dis" possessed, and realize what a tenuous, disconcerting situation she is in.

I wonder how much she realized what was going on during that two year time. Could she hear/see/feel what was happening? Surely she must have realized, even when she "came to" that JS loved her...

There's no easy answer to any of that situation - which is as the writers designed it....

  4. I'm assuming that I can't name myself in any of these scenarios! Oh, darn!!!

TOS - Christine and Spock - yes, CJLP, they had chemistry, but it was all on her side. I still think in "The Naked Time," when Christine confesses that she loves him, that he felt something in return. (We won't get into the times Spock gets emotional - and only sometimes thanks to alien biology!) Kirk and Rand - maybe. How about Uhura and Sulu? Now THAT would have been interesting! Or Scotty and Mira Romaine.

TNG - Crusher and Picard was bandied about too much to ever make it, I thought. But I always thought Riker and Troi would eventually get back together. Geordi and anyone. ;) Guinnan and Picard, I always thought, might be interesting.

DS9 - I agree that Garak and Ziyal would have been interesting. But Kira and Bareil? ;) I never really cared for Bareil. Kira and Odo were good together. Bashir and Jadzia would have been great. Sisko and Jadzia would have been interesting to watch. (I love "Fascination.")

VOY - I liked Paris and B'Elanna together. Harry and anyone. (How is it there's always one character that never gets the girl?) Janeway and Tuvok might have been interesting. Or Tuvok and Seven.

    ENT - Jury's still out.

And - just in the category of the ridiculous - How about Porthos and Spot?

  5. Wow - up at 6, log on to STF, and am greeted by THAT!

    It's AWESOME!!!!!

I have today off - think I'll go watch creepy ST..."The Light and the Darkness," "Catspaw..."

You guys are all inspiring!

    Looks GREAT, Takara. Thank you!!!!

  6. i like this poem, i like a few others as well, one is now forgive me i know only a few words of it, and cant remember who it is, "do not go gentle into that good night, rage, rage against the dying of the light" i love that, and also seeing as were on poetry here, wo did this one, and what is the rest of it, at least i think it was some kind of poetry, "CRYYYYY HAVOC, LET LOOSE THE DOGS OF WAR" thats all i know of it, is it a poem or what, and whats the rest of it?

"Cry havoc" is Shakespeare. Julius Caesar, to be exact, which is my favorite play.

I love Poe. And The Cask of Amontillado is probably my favorite short story of his, too. "For the love of God!" "Yes," said I, "for the love of God." I don't really care for "Mask", but The Black Cat, The Telltale Heart, Ligeia - there are so many...

"Bells, bells, bells, bells, bells. Hear the tintinnabulation of the bells, bells, bells, bells, bells."

  7. I voted for B'Ellana. I think her character was one of the most interesting because she actually hated her Klingon heritage. It tormented her and we watched her character struggle to accept it. I thought the episode where she found out her baby had cranial ridges was so sad.

Is that the one where she tried to alter the baby? If it is, then I agree...sad and disturbing.

I voted for Spock 'cause you always have a special place in your heart for your first love. (Not Spock, TOS!) After that, it would have to be B'Elanna. She is probably my favorite or second favorite character from VOY.

  8. I haven't read any of the books that take place after the series ends. (I think, personally, it's because I don't want the series to be over. I've read the ones that take place DURING the series.)

    I'll watch anything that's DS9!!

Season 5 came yesterday in the mail - I've already watched six eps.

  9. Scrambled, firm and dry, with either bacon or Spam on the side.

And don't forget the Tabasco!

Thanks a lot - now the Monty Python spam song is going to go through my head all night.

I don't know the Monty Python song, but my family thinks I'm nuts 'cause I like "dry" scrambled eggs. So this sounds good to me - with bacon, please.

  10. Please, I need a little help!

As I said, this is a huge long shot. A friend of mine at work (Ok, an adopted grandfather of mine) knows that I enjoy WWII and pre-WWII music, and asked me to find the lyrics of "Ninety Nine Out Of A Hundred Wanna Be Loved." I know it was recorded by Rudy Vallee, and by a couple of orchestras, but I'll be darned if I can find the words ANYWHERE. Anyone have any hints? I love this man to pieces, and told him I would look.

    B) HELP!!!! B)
