  1. While I am a TOS fan, and will always be loyal to the first-ever television show that truly captured my imagination, I have never been a huge Kirk fan. So I went with the first captain I absolutely would follow to the ends of the universe, even against the pah'wraiths - Benjamin Sisko.

  2. Maybe she was made to write "I will not attempt to overthrow the Federation government on Earth, ever again." 5,000 times on a blackboard?

lol - this is my favorite one so far. Cpt. Freeman, you can supervise and make sure her handwriting is good.

That WOULD be a great fanfic.

Personally, I think she was court-martialed, but given a reduced sentence because of her refusal to destroy the Defiant. Definitely drummed out of Starfleet. We're back to the Marquis discussion - they were doing what they thought was right to defend their home. Yeah, I can see her running to the Maquis - and the Maquis should be glad to have her - her training and knowledge, I would think, would be immensely helpful.

  3. You missed one, R - I like Spam okay, but like others said, only occasionally. My mother used to mix chopped Spam with mayo and sweet pickles and put it in our sandwiches for lunch. I like that. My grandfather, being the child of the Depression that he was, enjoyed canned ham, but he would fry it. Any question why the man had multiple heart attacks?

  4. The Navy has a flight program, as well, CJLP. The idea of being on a contained vessel, no matter what the medium in which it travels; and the command structure contained therein is a good reason to compare them to the Navy. I can't help but think somewhere I've seen that Starfleet grew out of the combined armed services, with an emphasis on the Navy...

  5. I don't think they set them up deliberately for Voyager. I think they created this great political plotline, tied it in on TNG, and then realized that it was a great hook/tie-in for Voyager.

Personally, I have a hard time blaming the Maquis for their actions. However, I also have a problem with terrorism. Which is precisely the conflict the audience is supposed to have. Jail people for defending their homes and families? The point has been made, and is correct - the Federation never should have handed those planets over without their consent.

Related question - The Cardies started suffocating those colonies ASAP. What happened to the Cardie colonies on the Fed side of the DMZ? Didn't they say there were some? I know the Fed would never treat them the way the Maquis were treated, but did those colonists consider themselves Union citizens anymore? What would I do if I were separated from home for no good reason, and yet not mistreated? Just accept the situation????

  6. I believe in UFO's as far as there are things in the sky that I can't identify. What they are is up in the air (no pun intended). Are they non-Terran spacecraft? I reserve judgment until you can show me one.

As for Roswell - I was there two years ago. If what happened there and at Area 51 is not other-wordly related, something happened that the government is covering for. There are secrets any government needs to keep, even from its constituents, but I'm curious. :) (I like the explanations B. Spiner gives in Mars Attacks!)

  7. Ohmigosh, yes...what a totally awesome episode. I don't know where to start...

    Click for Spoiler:

**Worf's epic fights with the Jem'Hadar, and his never-say-die attitude that impressed not only Martok, but the J'H First.

**Garak's scene when Tain dies. My favorite part is his glance back at Julian when Tain asks if they're alone, and his lie/answer. He trusted Julian and his discretion.

**The claustrophobic angle that comes in to play so well in the next episode. (LOVE it when he's scolding the light and himself for not performing up to snuff. Excellent scene and acting.)

**The fact that Julian was in isolation - doesn't that say something about his mettle that he deserved something like that?

    That's just the beginning - and a question -

    Click for Spoiler:

What do you think happened that got Julian thrown in the cooler?

  8. Click for Spoiler:

It was interesting that in the dream sequence, T'Pol was wearing a totally new outift. And she was not sitting with Trip, even though he had asked her to attend.

It sure showed that he's in her thoughts, though. Archer and Malcolm? No where to be found. Trip bugs her but he's on her mind and in her subconscious. :P :o

    Good point, good point!

I liked this episode generally, but I, too, liked last week's better.

Why, oh, why did I get watching ANOTHER Trek?

  9. My family is a coastal Maine family for many generations, and I'm not about to move, so I've been around seafood all my life. I dislike cod and shrimp strongly, tolerate lobster and crab and calamari, and LOVE haddock and scallops and clams. Those are the main staples around here (well, except the calamari). I would be willing to try other seafood, as there are few I actively dislike, but even here on the coast, some seafood is WAAAAAAAY to expensive...I feel bad for you landlocked ones!

  10. Ok thanks for that the only movies i need now are:

2=Star trek The Wrath Of Kahn.

    6=Star trek The Undiscovered Country

    :P

Oh, my! You're missing what are arguably the two best TOS films made!

  11. Not tonight; I have a headache - Lwaxana Troi

I like ballet, opera, fuzzy kittens, and long walks on the beach at night - Gul Dukat

I'm really a quiet, shy, humble kind of guy - Q

But I LIKE being an operator! - Nyota Uhura

Well, what do you know? We HAVE the power! We CAN do it! - ANY engineer
