  1. After Julian Bashir came out about being genetically enhanced and admitting that he could do loads of stuff he had kept hidden he became a far better character in my book. It was funny how Miles O'Brien took the piss out of him for being super smart. He developed as a character and was less weak and pitiful. Watching re-runs, you look at him differently as if to say ' i know your secret'. Before you knew, he had little to distinguish him. Kira had the whole 'boo hoo Bajoran thing' goin on. Odo could turn himself into a cocoanut. Sisko was the big black boss man. Garak the Cardassian. Dax the, well you know the rest lol But Bashir was a bit crap to begin with. Just some sissy doctor... then he's like, Khan 2.

  2. Do you think that the era of TOS was a golden age, free of war and annoyance that would have been great to live in? I mean, in Enterprise we ahve the Xindi and Suliban, TNG the Borg, DS9/VOY the Dominion, etc etc. But in TOS it seemed more like a big trek through the galaxy. Not as dramatic but.... nice! It even looked more cheery.

  3. The Bridge from the first three movies was different though was it not? Especially the Motion Picture Bride and I thought that it was rather bland. And the other two far too dark. Chlostraphobic.

  4. The Bridge on the Final Frontier had the 'bing bing bing' noise from TOS yt all the carpeted luxury of the Next Generation, which was clever. I liked the use of bue and bright clean lines better than the Undiscovered Country chrome brige. The original Excelsior bridge was huge and very sleek. But the Prometheus' bridge as seen in Message in a Bottle (Voyager) is beautiful. All white and light grey and minimalisitc.

  5. The virus had spread quicker than they had anticipated. And not just through Federation vessels. One Klingon ship had suffered and three of their own ships. The Romulans had badly planned this one. It had been intended as a new way to gain control over enemy vessels. A real, inside job as it were. A simple low energy transmission and the virus was through. Masked as back ground static. It targetted the holograms. Every Federation Starship had at least one of the darned things at this time. Either an old Mark 1 cleaning drone, or a highly efficient Mark 7 EMH. Some of which were running permanently on long range missions. Of course, debates had raged over the use of these things. The discussions had gone on. Sentience issues were raised. But in te aftermath of all that had gone on with the Dominion and the Bog, the Federation were in no mood to grant such rights. Far easier to let that one go for the moment.

Ironic then that it would be these misused creatures that would be the next srious blow for the Federation. And for that matter, a lot of other races around them. The Romulans had planned this move for quite some time. The idea, to take direct control over serving holograms. To override their programming and to replace that programming with a few simple commands: to kill everyone on board their ship, to take comand of that ship, and to destroy as much around it as possible. However, the plan went worong. The holograms initially did what they were supposed to do. They killed their crew. Took control of their vessel. But decided to destroy evrything around them. Whether it be Federation, Klingon, Breen, anything. But not their own. This new unethical super race was on the move. And it had learned how to spread it's virus around. To other ships. Holograms vs the Galaxy had commenced. Already over 200 Federation ships along with numerous other ships had been taken over and were forming a convoy for the heart of Federation space.

The Doctor was unaffected. The programming of his holoemitter saved him from infection. He had been called from Medical Research lab Delta-Orion only two days before Captain Sands of the Science Ship Capricorn. The ship had been retro fitted with sophisticated tracking and defensive systems. It's mission... to explore and defeat this new threat....

  6. Out of these, and maybe you could suggest others, who was the rost leader? The badest to his or her followers in terms of looking out for their interests? Khan went against the wishes of his followers and led them to their death in his quest for vengeance. Not the sign of a good leader. Would you like to be a follower of Kai Winn? Ever seeking more power and self glory?

  7. Slap a black helmet on Janeway and call her Kath Janer.

Im sure that they would have stayed out of the Rebellion and just treied to make their way home in accordance with Imperial law. Yawn. They arent that adventurous. The Maquis might eagerly have loaded up on light sabers and joined in. But not Voyager. There could be a star fight on but Voyager would raise shields, sail past and study a nearby nebula. Which would probably end up turning the ship inside out for an hour but everything would be grand in the end.

    The force is not logical.

  8. Shatner's big head as always thinking that he is the master of the Trek galaxy. He was just an actor who playdaq great character. And Star trek 5 was proof that that was all he was capable of. He cant blame politics for his flump. Nimoy did a good enough job! I think he just cant sit back and shut up. Im fed up with seeing his Trek books with him on the cover looking 20 years younger in the latest Star Fleet uniform. Give it up fat man. Your hot air belongs in the 80s with your belly.

  9. The first film i saw was First Contact. It was at our cinema back home in the country. I went with my friend at that time and we were the only people in the cinema. It was such a good film and the lack of others boosted my experience.

I then went to see Insurrection in the city. I was very cynical when i saw it as i had read a review of it off the internet months before. The guy who wrote it was very sarcastic and i heard him in my head the whole way through. Plus the guy i went to see it with (another trekie/trekker) breathed through his nose the whole way through. Argh!!!!

Nemesis, it took me ages before i went to see it. It just didnt excite me. I got very worried. If i wasnt really bothered, then is that why, maybe, it failed? People just weren'e motivated to go see i? "Oh them again?"

I would have loved to have been a trekkie back in the early 80s and have gone to see Wrath of Khan. That film genius! Love it.

  10. Oh it had to be Seska! Whole heartedly. The Borg Queen was just a cowering wimp that never got her hands dirty. In the middle of her drones, hissing and behaving more like a character from Dynasty than a real hand to hand scary nemesis. Q was his omnipotent self. A throw back to the extravagent villans of Star Trek and TNG. Seska, on the other hand, had infitrated the vrew. Lied. Smiled. Manipulated. She was true villan. She would step over her own grandmother to get what she wanted and rolled with the punches. Even in death she came back. Remember. She 9with the do-doe Kazon) captured Voyager. No small feat....

  11. My favorite Tuvok episode was Gravity.  I wish more episodes had featured his character.:dude:

I agree with you. Although Flashback was the best episode in terms of content and story, it was not the best Tuvok episode. Gravity showed him and his character off the most and we got to see how Vulcan he realy was.

  12. I don't think he was asking about the production viewpoint... :dude:

There is no way they would damage the actual model.  When we see the ship get attacked the bolt of energy blasts a hole in the left fin.  However, in the later scene, when we see the three guys looking at space from inside the ship, we see only a mangled area of the hull instead of a giant circular hole in the hull...Obviously they had a larger model or something just for the sole purpose of putting  a big gash into it.  The reason why the fins were added was so that they could have a giant gash in the ship without having the ship almost destroyed in the process.

I dont care what he was asking. Why do we have to be so accurately 'on topic'? And i did answer the original question: the ship in DS9 was one of the later variants after the Enterprise B. it's fun to drift and create a backstory though.. Also, i dont see what new point you are making....
