  1. I built a model of Voyager 7 years ago. It only took me a day but i couldnt get the paint job right. It looks too fake. I built a model of the original Enterprise out of cardboard !!! from a flat pack book kit. It looks really good. I also did a Romulan Warbird (original series) out of card as well. But if I had a model it would be the Enterprise D i think. K

  2. Nearly everyone I know has a mobile phone. In their pocket, or in their bag. A lot of people also have walkmans or the now popular iPods, for listening to music. Music comes through headphones, plugged into the ears.

Now. Can you imagine these items of technology evolving any further?

What i mean is, built in phones and walkmans. Telephones built into our brains so that if anyone wants to call us, we hear it in our heads and chose to answer. We could listen to music, downloaded into an implant in our head. Now imagine, that communication could be enhanced so that we could see the person we are talking to in our minds. Built in video cameras to record special events.

I feel that we are coming closer and closer to technology. We carry it around with us and it is evolving and getter smarter and smaller by the day. Integrating it into our bodies could become a comvenience. And before you know it, in a world off mass communication and medis, we could all end up linked to one source of information and the one thought. So that we all know where each other is, what we are doing, and so forth. Just like the Borg.

  3. I AM A MAJOR FAN OF GUNS AND ROSES!!! I have been for about 13 years! I must have been the only 11 year old at my school to have Appetite for Destruction. The last thing I bought by them was their cover of Sympathy for the Devil from the end of Interview with the Vampire. I loved Use your Illusion I and II, but am not so fond of the others. My favourite songs are November Rain, Paradise City, Don't Cry (I know, soppy) and Live and Let Die, which I also have on vinyl. Good to hear of another fan. They will always rock in my book! No one has a voice like Axyl. Last month, I went to a biker weekend at a local sea side town. I thought i'd be cool at karaoke night at the Harbour bar by getting up and singing Sweet Child of Mine. No doubt, my 6 pints of beer swayed me and i just couldnt get my voice any where near high enough. Nightmare!!!!

  4. The proposed multiple races that collectively make up the Xindi seems like an interesting premise. Several sentient life forms evolving from different species on probably one planet. I cant imagine a planet Earth whereby reptiles and insects have achieved the same level of itelligence as us. I like the idea. They have my interest.

    Thoughts?

  5. Friends is encroaching on it's (?) tenth series now. Although it isn't as fresh as it once was, it does still have a charm and familiarity that has lasted. Do you feel that TNG could have carried on for another three series? With maybe, some of the arcs explored in Generations and Voyager developed as episodes?

    These are just questions.

I myself would have liked at least ONE more series of the Enterprise D. There were plenty more character developments and roads that could have been explored. Geordi and romance. Deanna and Riker and Worf. Picard could have lost his family in season 8. Data being given emotions and the destruction of the D could have, maybe, made a better season ender in the 'continued' story arc of DS9 season 7 style. The destruction of the ship and the building of the new one could have breathed fresh life into the series. The crew apart. More drama. Emotion. And less of the ''off we go, vrooooom vrooooom'' the series had.

  6. Im not criticiing but there just seemed to be too much talk about Nemesis and future movies and stuff. The old movies are a wealth of discussion...

What happened to V'Ger and Decker etc?

What did Khan and co do in their years in exile?

How long was Spock left on Genesis?

What happened to the Genesis experiments?

    Who was Krudge really?

What did the Excelsior do, prior to Sulu?

    What was Sulu's missions like?

    So much to talk about....

  7. I feel that a lot of voting here has been based on the 'favourite episode' as opposed to the 'best one that shows off Tasha'. I dont think that Yesterday's Enterprise showed her off all that well. It's my second favourite EVER episode of Star Trek, sure. But not a particularly good 'Tasha' one I feel. She's just in it and that's all. It's a bit like saying that the best ever Riker episode was The Best of Both Worlds. It is the 'best episode' he has been in, sure. But that doesnt make it 'the best one to show off Riker'. If you see what I mean.....

  8. Ive just thought, maybe there were several 'temporal violations' commited within each time jump. Eg, they went back in time just the once but did several prohibited things

In the Voyage Home, for example, there could be:

    selling Kirk's glasses

    taking the wales back

    taking that scientist woman back

giving away the formula to transparent aluminium

There are four at least, from one time leap.

  9. Did we even See all of them??

Name all the ones you know of

I think that they only ACTUALLY travelled back in time 6 times throughout the series and movies.

Tomorrow is Yesterday - 20th Century Earth

The City on the Edge of Forever - Again 20th Century Earth

Assignment Earth - 20th Century Earth

All our Yesterdays - the past of the planet Sarpeidon

The Voyage Home - 20th Century Earth

Generations - Kirk goes into the 24th Century

There are multiple episodes, though, where the crew find themselves on planets which LOOK LIKE Earth's past.

The Squire of Gothos - Napoleonic era

The Return of the Archons - Wild West era

Who Mourns for Adonais - Ancient Greece

    Catspaw - Medievel era

A Piece of the Action - 1920s gangster era

Patterns of Force - Nazi Germany

Bread and Circuses - Roman Empire era

The Paradise Syndrome - Native American America

Spectre of the Gun - again Wild West era

Plato's Stepchildren - again, Ancient Greece era

I think episodes like this created the illusion that the crew were always going back in time, but they werent really. If we think about it, the TNG crew have done a fair bit in their time, but i'll leave that up to someone else to try to document

    Laters, k

  10. This is a more condence version of Prometheus's "favorite character episode" idea, except he's got a thread for each character.  Anywho, I thought this would be easier to keep up with.

    Kathryn Janeway - "Endgame"

    Chakotay -

    Tuvok -

B'Elanna Torres - "Barge of the Dead"

    Tom Paris -

    Harry Kim -

The Doctor - "Someone to Watch Over Me"

    Seven of Nine -

    Neelix -

    Kes - "Before and After"

I'll fill in the others later. :D

Oooooh. Sorry. Am i posting more than you for a change? I thought i'd give people options. Ive put a lot of effort into this.
