If you go to my post on Klingons in the movie board, you will see i made the same observation. I love Patty and Selma.

I went camping last month and it was freezing! And wet!

I love the CGI aliens. Species 8472 was just AMAZING. I wish that they would try and make some more of them, get some more variety into the shows.I think the Xindi are going to be like that.
-
Im putting this in here under Voyager as that is where we say Species 8472. They were great. Really alien and not humanoid. I feel, sometimes, that there are not enough ''aliens'' on Star Trek. The Xindi are now going to be all insectoid and stuff which will be good. Do you like CGI 'alien' aliens? Or would you rather Star Trek stuck with humanoids?

I think the Bridge is on the top so it can be replaced really easily. It's likle a big removable module, which explained all the different bridges on the Enterprise and Enterprise A. I dont know how the glass dome broke when the D crashed.
It's amazing how the consoles cause so many injuries. They are very dangerous things. I would be afraid of my keyboard if I knew that it could explode in my face at any time. I mean, cars are more safe than the bridge as they have airbags and stuff. Would a giant air-bag built into the viewscreen have been handy on the D when it crashed.

Why are Voyager people on the Titan?Probably because they've been re-assigned.
Just dosen't make sense to me. Worf, Crusher and Troi makes sense.
How does it not make sense? People get reassigned all the time. If Worf can be assigned to DS9 upon the Enterprise-D's destruction, why can't Tom, B'Elanna, Tuvok, and Harry be assigned to the Titan?
It would be a very weak, unimaginative idea. It would be very hard to believe that TNG, VOY and DS9 crews would all be assigned together.

Im Seven of Nine at the weekends...

When I asked the question 'was tos overshadowed by the successive series I wasnt referring to the effects or the fact that it was old. What I meant was were the storylines of TNG and so forth not more exciting? I mean, the Borg, the Dominion war, etc.

Movies are difficult things to make. I dont think that ten minutes would be enough to set up a load of characters for an audience. Having them all thrown into together, is in my view, a tacky idea. The Star Trek universe is a big place and a script which brings the four series together is silly. It just cant be done. We dont need crossovers. We dont need quantity. We need QUALITY. A good story line. A few characters to execute that. That will do.

I would be a new 'friend' on Friends and would take the p1ss out of them in every show and be really sarcastic.
Monica: "Let's go go carting!"
Joey: "What's that?"
Monica: "It's fun".
Me: (Sarcastically) "Oh yay. Let's go. So much fun.'' (under breath) ''losers..."
I dont think their little minds would grasp sarcasm and they would actually think I was a really good friend.
Just for a day, I would like to be able to pack a bikini with the real stuff and be one of Charlie's Angels.

I know that, going on what we know, Warp 10 is like being in all places at once. 9.97 would be very fast but 10 just sort of tips the balance. This, we may only conjecture, is only relative to standard warp speeds. In the Original Series, there was an older scale which had Warp 13 and all, and then this was converted into the TNG new scale. I suppose in the alternate future, ways were found to go over the warp 10 barrier without the whole 'in infinite places' thing going on... who can say?
-
This was a silly idea I think for several reasons.
1 How did the wooden ship get out of Bajor's gravity?
2 When it went into warp how come the inhabitants werent reduced to chunky salsa without inertial dampers
3 It was just sooooo stupid. Argh. A flippin compass, wood! Wood for heavens sake!

Captain Riker and the Titan could be included in the film as he could try to stop the Enterprise controlled by the evil Data impostor as it has impeded Klingon space, hence ambassador Worf could have joined Riker to help stop the Enterprise, this would lead to a good inter-ship battle.Worf's not an ambassador anymore, he returned to the Enterprise.
Pretty sure he's still an ambassador no? or did he find he wasn't cut out for that?
There was a deleted scene in Nemesis, from the wedding reception, where he says he wasn't cut out to be a diplomat.
I guess they decided that since the movie is set 4 years after DS9's finale, that we would assume that he returned to Starfleet and requested the Enterprise since there wasn't much left for him back at DS9. My only question is he wore a red uniform when security is gold? The uniform colors are departmental, not rank. Perhaps since he was the first officer of the Defiant, he retained command responsibility, thus keeping a red uniform? That's my theory anyway. :o
Does that really bug you? The colour thing? Im not too worried. I mean maybe he just likes red!

I wish they hadn't have cut the scene where Picard dons a pink thong and shakes his money maker in a Borg's face while singing ''we are the champions'' by Queen.

This character first appeared in an episode that was entitled, funnily enough, Ensign Ro. I watched it again for the first time in years last night and was reminded of the strength and high interest level of this character. She intoduced the plight of the Bajorans and the ruthlessness of the Cardassians, setting up Deep Space Nine. The character was billed to be the second officer of DS9, a role that Michelle Forbes (Ro) turned down. Major Kira was to be her replacement. Ro went on to star as a sort of replacement for helmsman Wesley Crusher, though had the same status as Chief O'Brien, Guinan and Reg Barclay (guest stars). Ensign Ro had the typical 'they tortured my dad' type Bajoran upbringing. It always seems to me that the Bajorans on TNG always had pokers put in their eyes and legs cut off and stuff by the Cardassians. They never seem to have gotten by ok in a tent somewhere.
Anyway, we see the Bajorans. Ro comes on board, fresh out ofd prison to help the Federation find a rogue Bajoran terrorist who has been blamed for attacking a Federation out post. The reason behind this is believed to be due to the Federation being passive in the matter of the Cardassian occupation of Bajor. Picard is assured that the terrorists will get asylum in Federation space but it turns out that an Admiral Kennelly has actually bargained with the Cardassians to flush the terrorists out and hand them over. Ro knows this and then tells Picard who manages to fool the Cardassians into blowing up an empty Bajoan ship and exposing the Admiral for his foolish behaviour. Of course the Bajorans didnt do it! They aren't slimey enough!
)
Ro went on to become friendly with Guinan and earn the respect of Picard. There is a parallel with the character of Tom Paris in this respect. She grew into a respected crew member only to bow out as a traitor to the Federation, with the Maquis - setting up another series!
I liked Ro. She added a new dynamic to the show. I would have liked to have seen her turn up as one of Chakotay's crew in Voyager. Maybe instead of Bellanna Torres.
One extra point of interest in the Ro episode was the whole "he's the finest imn the fleet" syndrome that Trek suffers from. In this case it's the Enterprise's barber (!) the Bolian Mr Mot. ''The finest barber in Star Fleet''. Groan :o)

I didn't know that Romulans' ancestors were the Vulcans, but I knew they have a relationship.I think the Remans are the conquered spieces and the romulans use them as slaves.BTW,what is CJLP?ThanksCJLP? Why that stands for Captain Jean Luc Picard. There is a member here with that screen name. He knows everything. Sometimes.

The Romulans planted 'grow your own Reman' seeds in a big field. They had to water them every day and then they would end up with lovely blonde Remans with white teeth and blue eyes. However. They didnt give them enough fertiliser. Nor did they dust them for parasites. And the Remans were a bad crop. So the Romulans said ''oh well. we suck at farming' and they tipped the Remans down a big mine where they have lived forever and ever and ever. The end.

Thanks. Wouldn’t it be great to see all the of the Hugh 'Logic' driven characters engaging in the debate of the century; Spock's eyebrow doing 50 push-ups a second, Smoke rising from Data’s head Odo turning inside out and Seven, wait, what would Seven be doing? She'd be looking sexy of course.
In this week's episode: ''T'Pol goes through Ponn Farr and is locked in a cage with a time travelling Seven. Whose reproductive implants are malfunctioning and causing hormone surges in her body. And they're naked. With decontamination jelly all over them. On Vulcan in the summer.''

For me it was actually quite late in the series. It was the season five episode Violations. Having been a fan of the TOS Movies I didnt really take to the TNG characters all that much. The episode was a little weird and not 'action' enough for me. The next episode I watched was 'Ship in a Bottle'. I was very impressed. A lovely tale which I managed to work out even though holodecks were all new to me. Believe it or not, 'Genesis' was the next episode I watched. TNG was on 2 channels in my area though, and one was two seasons ahead of the other. So I started to watch episodes on the one that was behind and then watched all the repeats. It has remained my favourite series.

In your opinion, do you feel that the TOS voyages are becoming less exciting and significant in the wake of what has happened in the subsequent series?
-
And also, if the Borg assimilated earth in the past then I hardly think the Xindi would have attacked that alternate Borg earth at the same time it did in Enterprise.
-
How would you have improved this in the light of attacks and so forth? Exploding consoles, vacumn cleaner pipes falling down from the ceiling, etc etc.

How come a time ship didn't go back in time to stop Janeway in Endgame?
