    I think that in Season One of TNG, none of the characters were really 'loveable' as they were still new to us and as such had less emotional attachment. As time went on, we became more attached to them like old friends. Picard being abducted by the Borg had more impact that had that happened during Season One, I feel. Therefore, Tasha was lost and that was that. The TNG that followed in that wake is the one we know and love and would choses to defend. To say that she was no real loss though would be wrong in my eyes. Lost was the potential for a strong character. Quite along the lines of Major JKira in DS9. Like that character I would have loved to have seen her mellow and fall in love and still retain her original element. Troi had less room for growth in my book. Being more the spolit girly tye to Tasha's street kid persona.

    I believe that Kirk would have 'cheated'. Tried to bluff The Kazon out of going near the array.

     

    On the Enterprise, Data would probably have been able to modify a pulse or something to neutralise it, etc etc

     

    Sisko would probably have used it to get home. He was more 'hard' I felt than the other Captains.

     

    Archer would have probably went and thought about it for a few hours and then looked pensive....

    Bonjour ma petite croutons. How are we all these days! Nemesis was ok, I felt. The dune buggy was grand but unbelievable tat the baddies had them too. Given them a shuttle and Picard would have been screwed! There just wasnt enough 'plot' for me. Nothing overly shocking. Bit trite. But overall ok.

    I think that it is part of the whole attempt to save the series. By appealing to the older established fan base and bringing the series closer into the Star Trek family. I dont mind the name change. I think it is a good move if it will help to bring a larger audience to the series. I note that Smallville's full production title is Smallville: Superman the early years. And that attracted me to the series on the level that I knew it just wasnt about the town but Superman as well. So, if you follow my point, Enterprise now has that awhole This is Trek element to it, that others may recognise and latch on to. At the end of the day, it's all about image and branding isnt it? In order to survive.

    It's not what is actually written that is the issue. It is THE WAY in which it is written. The tone, the diction .... sigh. Im not being nasty. Im trying to make a point. It's not often anything irritates me. Im a fairly laid back kind ogf a guy. I just dont like people trying to be smart is all. :bow:

    CJLP: I cant help but feel that your dissemination of my comment is almost a personal attack. Once again you have made very firm statements with all the efficacy of fact, yet nothing really backs up what u say, except for your own personal opinions. I find such self indulgance, with respect, a little tiresome. For me to take each of your points and rip them to shreds would take me more time than it's worth, so i'm not going to bother. I'm just going to stick by my original post and that's that. It's obvious. will only make one comment: how do u know for sure that the 'program', as you so dub it, isn't simply just the sum of the memories and m-grams etc. How is it separate and is it not inherent in the type of download that occurred in the film? I mean, surely all that is symbiotic? And maybe my analogy with Dax was too generic for your highly specific tastes. But it was only an analogy and sometimes overly precise comparisons should be left for those too inflexible to let their imagination give them them some lea way.

     

    If this post is deleted, i'm out of here. I mean that!

    As I walked to work this morning I had my usual paranoia attack on the street and had to calm it by checking that my zipper/fly was odne up on my trousers. It is my worst fear. I went to a christening once and my auntie filmed me with my zipper down for 20 minutes. She never told me and that video haunts me. So now, I have a phobia about my fly being undone.

     

    Do u have a similar phobia stemming from a very embarassing situation? Have you ever tucked your skirt into your knickers or sat in a restaurant with a chick pea stuck to your cheek? Have you ever gone on holiday with two non-matching shoes, or loudly broke wind on a bus during a heatwave? If so, then please share..... lol

    They say that you should keep on a very light job. This gives us something to do and a focus which keeps you balanced and happy. Spending money can just become tiresome after a while and the lack of responsibility can lead to alcholism and drug abuse!!! So they say, anyway.

     

    I would buy a great big house in the country. And have my own private zoo and theme park. I would spend more time looking for someone to love (without revealing my money of course).

     

    I would have several cars, a yacht and at least two holiday homes. One in a very warm climate and one somewhere more 'off the beaten track'.

     

    I would invest heavily in property and leasing. I would probably have my own property business.

    I am the sum of my memories and experiences. The way I behave is a result of how I have interacted with others in the past and what I have learned from them. I believe that, if it was possible, this could all be copied and placed into a repica body. The copy will not be 'me' in the strict sense. But it will be me, in the form of a copy, or clone. B4 essentially became a clone.
