  1. I understand TOS is not every ones cup o'tea, I wont hold that against you in the slightest way *takes notes* lots of people were not born early enough to understand what TOS was about *plots revenge* Heck, I've known some fans who were loyal to TOS before TNG came along but then switched over *their all dead* so why, why would you have reason to worry about what I think about your choice of favorite Trek series *calls hit man* ?

:bow: B) Absolutly Hilarious. Just Great.

As for the topic, I enjoy all of the series'. I would put them in order of my favorites, but I haven't ever seen very many epidoes of the TOS. But, TNG and Enterprise are among my favorites.

  2. It really would have been a pretty good film, and from seeing the deleted scenes, I can see that it was meant to be a much more touching film than was delivered.

The main mistake was made with Stuart Baird directing. He is an action film editor. Of coarse he's going to cut out the touching scenes from the film, to make room for more action. If Frakes had taken it, or maybe Levar Burton, I think it would have worked out fine. Instead, it's a pretty good build up and premise for a half hour long action set piece. Oi Ve!!

  3. Whatever the 11th movie is, I'm sure it'll be good because, again, it IS Star Trek.

Well keep in mind, that The Final Frontier WAS Star Trek also, and thats hardly worth trying to watch again.

But I doubt that the next Trek film will just be an action piece. After Nemisis, a serious thinking, mind expanding film is definitely in order and it would need to be a very solid film to have Paramount go along with it after how Nemisis bombed at the box-office. No matter which cast is involved, Berman and Braga need to put a craftsman touch on the film.

  4. I gave it a 7. It was a pretty good premise but...

    ...

    Click for Spoiler:

in the beginning, i couldn't help but think of Twilight. It seemed very recycled and redundant. Once we saw it was just a simulation, it become less redundant to me after that. And I figured that the 'Vortex' bit was just Travis rocking the boat, but I loved Degra as he realized that he had given away the location of the Xindi weapon.

Again not great, but quite good on it's own.

  5. I join the concensus that the Klingon Ridges can be forgiven, I guess the only thing that has ever really bothered me was the name of the ship. I know its a little complaint, but in "Trials and 'Tribble'ations" Sisko said that they saw the first Enterprise (Kirk's ship). Like i said it's a small thing, which could be explained maybe by an error by Sisko or, who knows, an altered timeline. Aside from that, Enterprise has remained very loyal to Trek's history.

  6. :borgqueen: Expecially how she acted in Scorpion, now THAT was a good episode.

She wasn't in Scorpion. She was a part of most every other borg series but, she wasn't in that at all.

I don't even think that she ever showed up on Voyager, until Dark Frontier, a year and a half afterwards.

  7. Our Man Bashir was great, especially the opening with the Champaigne Cork, and I loved the score they did with it, putting the DS9 theme in a Bond film style.

The Killing Game was a close second. I forget who said it, but yeah its probably the most original use of the holodeck, and I have always loved WWII films.

  8. What I mean is, sure, we've seen the "ship" from each series get destroyed in a "reset the timeline to save the ship" episode.  We've also seen the Enterprise destroyed in the TOS movies and the Enterprise-D destroyed in the TNG movies.  However, what has not been done before is to have the ship destroyed durring the series and not be saved.

Well one problem. I have always kept in mind a line from "Trials and 'Tribble'ations" where the temporal investigations guys say that there have been 6 Enterprises. If the NX-01 is destroyed then if you were to remain absolutly true to the show, then the next ship couldn't be the Enterprise, and seeing as thats the name of the show, it would be kind of pointless. And it would seem really redundant to name say the NX-03 the Enterprise, just because Archer likes that name.

  9. It was between Soren, Khan, and Chang for me. But what set Khan apart is the absolute elegence, poetry, and true obsession that is in his lines. Hes like a Shakespear character who tries to make a pageant speach out of everything he says (granted Chang quoted Shakespear every chance he had, but it just isn't the same). Plus there is just the way that he carries himself and his desperation to get what he wants at any cost (the eels, Regula, his persuit of Kirk). That's why he is one of the enternal villians of all time.

  10. I gave it a 7.5 cool episode :frusty:

    Ditto

I don't know the acting just seemed a little stiff to me, the dialogue felt, eh I don't just one of those off feelings (don't ask me to explain it), and I laughed at the view screen trick with the antenae, but I just thought to myself "I my God, did they just do that?" It seemed very juvenille to me.

But over all it was a good episode. I love seeing the coming together of the Federation with Shran and Archer.

  11. OMG! I can't believe I'm the only one who voted for Enterprise???? C'mon guys!!!  :frusty: I love the TNG cast, but let the newbies have a chance. Peace and long life, T

I don't wanna wait 5 years for the next movie.

Well, if we do have to wait that long, I'd bet that we could get a kickin' screen play. Get Robert Duncan McNiel or Levar Burton to direct. I see some serious potential here.

  12. TUH, on the uniform issue, we don't know that they wouldn't last 10 yrs. then just because they probably wouldn't now. For all we know they've developed a better method for making more durable fabrics, or have discovered a stronger material to make them out of.

    There ya' go.

  13. Not sure which moment's the best, but one good one for me is the infamous "Dinner Party" and the scenes after it in STVI.

Oh yes. Kirk comparing General Chang to Hitler was so diplomatic.

  14. Why are they still wearing the same Star Fleet uniforms a decade later?

    Ummm that one I haven't a clue. [/glow]

Earth is gone, most every colony is destroyed, there are 6,000 members of the human race left, and the Xindi aren't finished yet. I don't think Star Fleet has alot of room to worry about uniforms.

T'Pol basically blew it for Earth by her choice to ram the other ship. This incapacitated Enterprise and they failed in their mission. Was that really logical? Were there other options...loss of life wouldn't be as bad as the loss of the ship would it?

It was a deperate situation, the ship likely would have been over run by Reptillians if she hadn't done what she did. I don't know what other options she had, but she certainly didn't make the worst decision.

Okay, if some really nasty aliens had just wiped out most of your race would you all get together on some deserted planet? Or would you maybe relocate to Andoria, Vulcan, Denoblia etc. They participated in an interspecies medical exchange so I'm guessing they had a interspecies version of human rights. Surely they'd take a couple thousand refugees on each planet?

Well keep in mind that the Vulcans saw humanity's fate as a consequence of going out on their own to early, and probably horror-tales of the Xindi weapon had struck fear into the hearts every other species in the area. I can't imagine that any one wanted to risk their world for a seemingly insignificant race who had been exploring the galaxy for less than a decade.

  15. Out of all the Star Trek films, we all have certain things that we just love, for one reason or another.

Probably mine would have to Spock's funeral, first Kirk's coment about "Of all the souls I have ever encountered, his was the most...human." almost brings a tear to my eye, and then the score playing 'Amazing Grace' is just unbelievably touching. I can't watch that with out getting goose-bumps all up and down my body.

  16. I never really noticed that until after 'Twilight' when he had one scene where he got cooked during a Xindi attack. The thing is that he doesn't do much else. Other pilots have been interesting in there personality or had another skill that got them screen time. Sulu was a Captain in the making. Wesley was making his way to adulthood and was the Doctor's son. And Paris, well, need I say more. But Mayweather really fades into the background. Hopefully he'll gain some camera time at some point during the Xindi arc.
