  1. I've heard some pretty wild and pretty interresting ideas on Kirk's death.  What about you guys?

What I think would have been a good death for Kirk would be if he saw a familiar-looking saucer section in the distance moving towards him, growing larger and larger, until...

    LMAO!!!

    B) B)

  2. I felt that he should have been alone when he died, as he stated in STV:  The Final Frontier,  that he always knew he would be.

Actually, given how much I loathe the Final Frontier, I don't mind that it was contradicted in Generations.

As for Kirk's death; I would have been content with him dying to save the Enterprise-B. I personally think the whole intro for Generations is brilliant. But I like the idea, that Kirk couldn't live forever with out any danger at all. Like he needs that to truely feel alive. I have always liked to think that Picard himself learned a few things from Kirk and that Kirk realized something about himself.

To answer the question, I like Kirk's death, not that he died but how and I love Generations as a bitter-sweet tragedy adventure.

  3. And what happened to the Enterprise A at the end of the The Voyage Home?  Why was it so banged up?

I have heard that the actual movie was the second script, because the actual first script had been leaked out.  If this was the case, I would have loved to see the first script make it into production.

The Enterprise A wasn't really banged up. She was just a new ship. They never showed much of her at the end of The Voyage Home, but I'm sure that problems began to crop up after they took of to warp.

And, I cna't imagine them making a feature length movie, of the original Generations, but I'm sure if they found the right people to do it, they could make a novelization.

But you never know. I heard that one of the original ideas was to have the Enterprise-A and the Enterprise-D in a huge battle. Just be careful what you wish for.

  4. I like Shran, but he seems almost to high in rank to simply go to the Enterprise. Plus I can't think of what he would do. Unless Reed got taken out, and I'd hate for that to happen. I wouldn't mind seeing Lt. Talas on the Enterprise. She had a good repore with Reed, but the crew won't trust her all at once. Plus, I can see her replacing some one like Mayweather or using another bridge console. But I can't see Shran as the pilot or in the back ground.

  5. Well, I'd say the peach clinches it for Trip!

Please let me know, Trinneergirl, about the "First Flight" episode.  This may seem like a silly thread, but as a leftie, I can tell you that it's of utmost importance to some of us!  (Well, okay, to me, anyhow.)

    Lefty all the way.

  6. I VOTED FOR GENARATIONS IT WAS SORRY TO SAY THIS CRAP!!!!

WHAT A STUPID WAY TO KILL OFF KIRK B)

I WOULD HAVE HAD HIM AT LEAST ON THE BRIDGE IN FULL BATTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I don't get it. I've seen plenty of Generations haters. They all say that it was a bad movie, but the only reason they give is that Kirk shouldn't have died or he died in the wrong way. Granted, its not the best way to die, but my god, it can't ruin the whole movie.

  7. I read about Alan Alda's appearance on ER and how ratings went way up.

Just to make sure. Alan Alda played the med-student who had a disease, and his hands would shake. If he that same one, oh yeah I'd love beyond all else to see him on Star Trek.

I thought Don Cheadle played the Med student with the shaking hands. B) I'm not sure, so will someone correct me?

Dangit, is he the one hwo's doing the promotions for the NFL and the Playoffs?

  8. I would like to see Morgan Freeman on a Trek show sometime too.

But who else, I do like Richard Dean Anderson. I can see him as a Captain (NX-02?)

    Mark Harmon is good too.

I've always liked Michael Biehn. I don't know who he would play, but he's always had a good look to him.

I'd love to see alot of the cast of ER, doing different parts for Trek.

  9. Where's Worf, LaForge, Crusher, and Wesley in all of this?  Also, B4 only contains Data's memories, how would Lore get Data back?  Perhaps Lore use B4's programming and Data's memories to re-create him?  Personally, I think the story is too focused on Picard/Data, likeNEMESIS and gives the cast too little to do.

The Crew-Worf, Laforge, and Crusher would be in it, but have minor roles. Geordi could be useful in deattactivating Lore. Beverly would likely serve in character moments with Picard. Worf would probably take abackseat just because he isn't truly needed accept for Trek value, but he recieved plenty of camera time in most of the other movies. I don't think Wesley would be needed at all, really.

Lore and his plan- I figured that if Lore upgraded B-4's positronic relays, deleted B-4's memory entirely, then loaded Data's memories, Data's personality and character would assume B-4's body. As for Lore, well I'm not totally sure where he is, but I figure he still exists somewhere.

Focus-Well it would have to be focused on Data to some extent. The main trial of the movie ends up being about Data and his discisions. And Star Trek movies always gravitate to the Captain. That's just the way it is.

I do admit that it is similar to Nemisis in that fashion, but I really can't imagine another TNG movie being done with out Data coming up somehow. And if another film was done without Data being involved, it wouldn't sit right with me.

  10. It really wouldn't be bringing Data back, but here is a scenario I've been thinking about lately.

A group of smugglers, pirates, and collectors steal or capture the remains of Lore. When Lore is reactivated, his first intent is too reunite himself with Data. When the Captain of the Smuggler ship tells Lore that Data is gone, Lore goes insane and kills the Captain and tells the first officer to give him all information pertaining to the Enterprise crew and all other knowledge of known androids.

At Earth the Enterprise has docked for a few weeks of shore leave. By now B-4 and Picard have grown quite close and B-4 is even performing inor tasks in engineering. Beverly is also onboard visiting her old ship mates. Picard here tells Beverly that he is planning to retire from Starfleet, instead of taking a promotion he has been offered.

Lore pours over the information provided to him by the pirate intelligence officer. Here he learns of the Enterprise-E, Riker commanding the Titan, B-4, and most important of all, B-4's memory transfer with Data. Lore takes the ship into Federation space and intentionally into sensor range of the Titan. Captain Riker is obviously intrigued by the posotronic reading coming from the ship. The Titan follows the ship.

Riker contacts the Enterprise, and tells Picard of the situation. Picard requests and is granted permission to follow the Titan and investigate the ship.

When the Titan finally catches the Pirate ship, Riker orders the ship to be boarded. Riker and his tactical officer lead the security teams. There is very little resistance, until a security team wiped out after finding Lore. The Titan's tactical officer reports "an android of somekind", which Riker eventually figures must be Lore, and calls imeadiatly to the Titan to raise shields. The pirate ship now fires a massive barage of stolen weapons at the Titan, doing severe damage to the ship. Deanna does all she can, but Lore escapes with 20 of the Titan's crew aboard, including the Titan's tactical officer and Riker .

Once the Enterprise arrives, Deanna gives the full account of what happened. Picard decides to stay with the Titan until the ship can attain warp drive, knowing that the Pirates can't out run either of the two ship, the Titan needs their commanding officers onboard during the repairs, but they will need all the experiance they can to capture Lore.

When the two ship catch up to and surround the Pirate ship, Lore officially states his requests. He will turn over the hostages, in exchange for B-4.

I'm not totally sure where things would go from this point but Lore would end up upgraded B-4's positronic relays and load Data's memory. After Data helps Picard, and the Enterprise beat Lore, Data decides that he does not truely deserve to continue his existance. In an emotional discusion with Picard, Data says something to this extent.

Data-"For over 40 years, I aspired to become more human. I was able to do so because of my positronic superiority. Yet, I do not know what it is to be human still. But, I cannot see it to be morally right for me to take away the chance that B-4 has know. B-4 will have my memory engrams, my experiances, my life. Now with an improved body, B-4 has the chance to follow in my footsteps, in continueing to become more human. He will learn from what I learned, as a father teaches his son skills learned in the father's lifetime. I cannot take that chance away from B-4."

Data would essentially sacrifice himself for B-4. I think it would be a touching end, and give the Next Genration crew the finally they deserve.

  11. I think the series might be able to use a break. I hope Enterprise goes the full seven seasons, but probably after Enterprise is over, they could go a while with out a series or a movie. That's the real problem right now, is that there is now way that DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise will be able to be fully utilized in terms of movie vaulue. I think TNG could use another film, just to give it a good end. I don't see to many movies coming out of DS9 or Voyager, because they would be so close.

With the original series movies, it was the only Star Trek matierial that the fans would see for that three years. Now it's just something else to watch in between other episodes. I would love to see Enterprise movies however. That's why I hope it lasts. Then the series could use a respite so that we can truely apreciate what Star Trek means to us. And then the writers will have all kinds of time to let new ideas set it, and come out with a spectacualar series*.

*this last sentence was not ment to put down Enterprise down at all

  12. I think in the episode Picard comments that each time-line is separate from the others so the possible future can be discounted.  Plus it can be discounted anyway since the -D got destroyed.

But, that refitted Enterprise-D was cool I thought.  Niagra-class vessels have a third nacelle too.

I wonder if it might have been actions from All Good Things that led to the changes in the timeline. If Picard had a renewed sense of attachment to his crew, he might have encouraged them all to stay together. Perhaps, had he not gone through his experiances in All Good Things, the crew would have broken up, the Enterprise might never have been at the Veridian system, Deanna would have been killed, Worf gets involved in Klingon Politics, the Duras sisters reclaims the Klingon Empire with a trilithium weapon and conquer the Romulans, and the Enterprise-D is aroung long enough to have a major refit.

  13. I went with Jeffery Combs.. I always thought he did a real good job on his characters..I also liked Brent Spiner, Marc Alaimo, Majel Barrett and J.G. Hertzler.. Oh heck they are all good..!!

That's why they play multiple roles. I'm not trying to seem like a smart aleck, but when you get quality actors, it's a pretty smart idea to use them multiple times.

  14. but I also thought Crosby did a good job in both her roles.

Crosby, I forgot about her. Damn i should have put other on the poll. Oh well. I never knew that the actress whoi played K'Eyhler returned for mutliple roles. I hope I didn't miss to many more  :o .
