  1. That's the main thing I don't like about Nemisis. It had a pretty good build up, then used it for a long action set piece. You can tell Stuart Baird was an editor for action movies.

And on the DVD, Berman said that there was some 45 minutes cut from the original script. I don't think all of it had a place in the movie, but Baird cut out alot of the character scenes in exchange for more battle shots. This could have been a very good movie. I still think it's decent and it did many things right, but the heart of the movie is on life support.

One thing I have noticed is that alot of people hate that Data died and say that the movie sucked because of it. Granted I'm not thrilled about it, but it was a very gripping and heart wrenching part of the movie.

  2. One of the two lowest?  I think that is a little harsh.  It's plot made sense.  Generations is full of plot holes.  And TMP was regarded as bad by almost everyone.  So it can't be that bad.  Besides I know lots of people who thourougly enjoyed it.  I did!

I would have considered the Final Frontier one of the other lowest. It builds up a pretty good rising action, then it turns out to just be another spatial phenomena(sp?). The whole film was going for a spiritual fell and plumeted. And the use of the Klingons was the worst I have ever seen. They were pointless, and demoted from great warriors to a humble warrior who apologizes to Kirk for being a little mean.

A liked TMP. It lingers alot and the uniforms looked like rejected ideas from Star Wars. But I love the idea of V'Ger being just like us. Looking for a point to it's existance.

Generations, I love because of the unification of two series' and the Nexus is such a great dilema. Picard has everything he has ever wanted in the Nexus. Could any of us really say that we would sacrifice all of that for what we knew was right. (What plot holes? I may just be ignorant, but I never saw anything to prominent)

  3. I just watched Nemisis again, and I've come to the realisation that Nemisis wasn't a horrible film, it was just taken away from more basic ideals of Star Trek. And for what its worth the action scenes in Nemisis are quite good. I also like the shock that Baird did with Data's sacrifice. He didn't try to drag it on. It just happen. In an instant the shock still gets me when I know it will happen. I also love that there is still a glimmer of hope that Data still exists in a way with B-4 ("He's not really dead if we find a way to remember him." and we all know how that worked out.) Shinzon is a solid villian who holds his own against Picard, and Tom Hardy really deserves credit for doing so.

Again it is not a great movie, and is probably regarded as one of the lower two films of Star Trek, and it is no doubt the most action oriented (due mostly because Baird was an editor of action movies and really didn't know Star Trek), but there definitly several good things to be seen

  4. I got another question about Generations that someone perhaps can answer.

Why did Soran have to destroy a planet to get into the Nexus, while cap. Kirk could enter it in space, from a ship?

Well, according to history, Kirk died on that mission. Soran had no way of knowing that he could just take a ship into the Nexus, open the hatch and jump. I don't even know if that would work, but to Soran and anyone else, it would look like suicide.

  5. That sounds okay too, I can definitly see Tuvok as First officer. The main question would be if Seven would still be on Earth, or on Voyager. It could be one of those things where Janeway is feeling really nostalgic, when she sees the entire crew continueing their lives on Voyager, while she "sits behind damn desk" as Janeway might put it. I could see Seven as Ops officer, but it might be a bit fast.

You know, come to think of it, maybe giving the Doctor rank might be messing with to much. He still has no name, and it would just sound retarded to say "Lt. Doctor". Plus he didn't have a rank in "End Game", so it might be just a s well.

  6. So here is my idea of where the Voyager crew is now.

Janeway-Admiral at Starfleet command on Earth

Chakotay-on Earth as a civilian, teaching at the academy

    Tuvok-First Commanding officer of Voyager

    Paris-Pilot on Voyager

Be'lana-now a civilian, raising Miral on the ship

Harry-Promoted to Lt. and is now Tactical officer

Seven-has gone through Star fleet academy and is now at Star fleet command

Doctor-still on board, and has recieved official rank of Lt. Cmdr.

Kes-Still living due to some help from Q,who sees her empathic ability as very unique,, and led the Okampa who now live above the surface, who have however been enslaved by the Kazon.

Neelix-still on the asteroid (we can probably pick him up)

obviously a new cheif engineer, and first officer would be needed in the mix, but I still like the idea.

All nice ideas of where the crew could be, some like how I imagine, others different. Two questions though... Why are Chakotay and B'Elanna civilians, and wouldn't the Doctor start out as an ensign?

For Chakotay and Be'lana, they were both members of the Maquis, and only served because they had to. They no doubt grew to like serving on Voyager, but once the were no longer obligated to stay, they probably looked at other career and life possibilities.

Plus Be'Lana is raising a baby, and wouldn't have real time to dedicate both ways. Chakotay would have wanted to settle down on Earth, with Seven.

And more over, I just don't like the idea of the crew being right there, there would have been some dispersal, and despite his record while on Voyager, it still would have ruffled some feathers at Starfleet command to have a former Maquis leader in command of a star ship.

The Doctor gets his rank because he has already served over 7 years, has near infinite knowledge of the Medical field, and , I don't know, I just liked the idea. He probably would be a lower rank.

  7. I thought this was an excellent Trek and sci-fi movie.  The only thing that annoyed me was the stock footage of the BOP exploding from Movie #6.  I don't mind stock footage in an episode, but this is a movie! :)

Yeah, That Was Kinda Stupid, lol

Yeah, and didn't they use some from Search for Spock, when the Bird of Prey decloaked at Veridian. I'm pretty sure that was also stock footage.

  8. So here is my idea of where the Voyager crew is now.

Janeway-Admiral at Starfleet command on Earth

Chakotay-on Earth as a civilian, teaching at the academy

    Tuvok-First Commanding officer of Voyager

    Paris-Pilot on Voyager

Be'lana-now a civilian, raising Miral on the ship

Neelix-still on the asteroid (we can probably pick him up)

obviously a new cheif engineer, and first officer would be needed in the mix, but I still like the idea.

  9. Another question about Generations. This isn't really a mistake, but why did they keep changing uniforms through out the coarse of the film. I didn't have a problem with either one (except for Geordi and Riker having 8 inches cut off the end of their sleeves), but it was just iratating to me when the uniforms were so off set.

  10. I voted for Khan, because I absolutely love his wit and the way he curses at people and his utter imortal hatred for Kirk. He is sadistic and gives a true challenge for Kirk.

The Xindi and Soran were right up there. The Xindi are dangerous because they beleive that they are fighting for survival. They will wipe out humanity at any cost, and they have the means to do it.

Soran is like a drug addict who needs his fix. Again, he will destroy any thing ally with any one who will help him to get back to the Ribbon. I'm sure I could give colorful discriptions for most of the other villians, but these three just stick oput to me.
