  1. In one of the reviews for "Wrath" the critic didn't understand how Genisis could be used as a weapon. But it was fairly well explained by I think it was Spock. If some one used it on Earth, all of us would be wiped out, to aloow for the development of the new eco-system that would form.

  2. I actually liked the idea of a totally new cast. It would give an angle that has been used extremely sparingly in the Star Trek universe. Betrayal among the crew. Think about it. You have no characters to preserve. The first officer could be a Romulan agent, as opposed to when characters are just being accused of terrible things. It won't turn out all right. This is something that no movie, thus far, would have likely gotten away with. Some one like Mel Gibson would be cool as an officer, Steve Bushemi as a wacked out engineer, Edward Norton as the decietful tactical officer, ...and...yeah maybe Harrison Ford as our brave Captain of the U.S.S Millenium.

  3. I'd like to see something like that too. Like The Motion Picture.

Somthing with the Prophets would be good, and I think maybe even the mirror universe might be pretty good if handled extremely well. But it's the whole thing with combining the two that really sets me off to the idea. Just trying to get too much on the plate.

  4. I would definitely like more of the TCW, and with the Adorians.

Also at some pointI'd like to see an episode where Archer's relationship with his father. That would just have a nice ring to it.

More exploring definitly, and at some point the development of the NX-02 would be great.

  5. "The crew have enterred a "mirror universe", a reallity just like ours, but different."

How is that hard for a non-DS9 fan to understand?

Well, hypothecitcally, if I were in charge of doing this script I would want to find a way to introduce the parrallel universe, that doesn't make the audience (trekkers and non-trek fans alike)feel like they're in 1st grade. I would have reservations about having a sequence where the theory of the Mirror-universe laid out and explained to a new character in the movie. Unless in was crafted extremely carefully, it would likely fall apart. Thing about when Geordi, explained what the Theloron(sp) energy woulpd due to the Enterprise, in Nemisis.

And then there is the question of why the prophets are concerned about the pah-wraiths in a parrallel universe.

  6. All of them seem fairly interesting. The one I would dislike the most would likely be TNG. I don't like the idea of using B4 to bring back Data, and the rest of the crew has been spread out. I just don't like the idea of forcing it all together. While I would have doubts about a new cast for a trek movie it would be interesting if it had a story line like The Motion Picture, following something that non-Trek fans could follow quite easily. An entirly new crew. It all could be quite interesting. Heck, the movie could be released as a start to a new series.

  7. Well just by the general look of it, you have an okay episode of DS9. The question is how are non-fans going to react. The movies thus far have been pretty universal about explaining things and keeping from re-explaining things so that they aren't totally lost. The cross-over universe, and the pah-wrathes, and the prophets, and everything else could be bad enough to confuse even a good number of Trek fans.

  8. I say give Robert Duncan Mcneal a shot at the helm, :) he did such a great job on Twilight.

I'd agree. Twilight is IMHO the best episode of Enterprise to date, and I would like to see someone who was involved with Trek get involved, like David Carson (who directed several episodes including DS9's pilot episode) directing Generations.

Speilburg definitely would get peoples attention, but keep in mind that Robert Wise, one of the best directors ever, to direct The Motion Picture, and it just wasn't Star Trek. I would definitly try to choose a director who knew what they were doing on this project.

  9. The biggest problem I think would be getting it by Rick Berman. I've read a few things in the 'Captains Logs' book where he talks about the development of DS9 and Voyager, and saying that it would need a different arc then the other series'.

  10. Each of the New Star Trek series have had a distinct arc. TNG was the future of the Original Series. DS9 was the first land based Trek. Voyager had to reach home. Enterprise is in history of the Federation. But could another pure Exploration show make it?

I would think if the writing is good enough, then I don't think it would make a difference.

  11. Does that include me? :wow:

I like the Sith, too.I mean, how are they worse than the Jedi?Yoda and Obi-Wan lied to Luke in order to gain his help in killing Vader. That jive about "a certain point of view" was pure Bantha Poodoo. Also,in "The Phantom Menace" you can't convince me that Qwi-Gon couldn't have secured Shmi Skywalker's freedom, too. The fact of the matter is,the Jedi don't want the parents or family of the children they bring into their order having anything to do with them (sounds like a Cult). Why?To brainwash them?

Then,in "Attack of the Clones"Obi-Wan tells Anakin to ignore his feelings that his mother was in danger, and Anakin obliges his "father" figure and master, until by the time he does run to his mother's rescue its too late.Did Obi-Wan know Shmi was in danger, and simply did not confirm his Padawan's own true feelings? Then, later on Obi-Wan warns Anakin that his love for Padme is explicitely forbidden by the Jedi.Again, why? To his credit,Anakin married Padme anyway.

    (Off Topic, I know)

Anakin ignored them, and look what happend to him. Sith lord, Al Kapone of a galaxy far far away. The Jedi remain removed from there emotions, I guess kind of why the Vulcans do. It's dangerous for them. At their best they are perhaps the greatest allies you could ask for, but if they lose control, then terrible things happen.

  12. If you don't watch an episode because you know Earth can't get destroyed, then why watch season 3 at all.  The entire season is based upon Enterprise's mission to save Earth.  We know they will succeed, but does not mean it's not worth watching.

^Yeah, if that's the case, why watch Enterprise at all.

Any way, I voted a 9 out of 10, just because it does have a similar equation to previous alternate future episodes (Yesterdays Enterprise, Year of Hell) and I didn't really like a few bits of dialogue (Soval and T'Pol, T'Pol and Tucker after she collided with the Xindi ship, and Trip's interogation). And the last bit where T'Pol gets Archer a pillow felt forced. All of it wasn't terrible, was it all irratating.

Aside from that, I loved it. Those were all minor things that take away slightly from what is, IMHO, the best episode of Enterprise yet.

    Click for Spoiler:

The scene where Archer returns to the ship and sees all of the crew again was very touching for me.Seeing sequences after the captain lost his memory against the Reptillians were really good. And it all hit me kind of hard when first of all Earth was destroyed, when the bridge was destroyed, and then when T'Pol was killed. I don't know why but with everything that T'Pol had gone through for Archer, it was just a shock.

Like I said, the best episode of Enterprise yet, in the best season of Enterprise yet.
