  1. PLEASE NOTE: THIS MAY BECOME A HEATED AND CONTROVERSIAL CONVERSATION!

Hello everyone. I've been noticing the troubles sometimes caused by "Enterprise bashing". STF.N is for all opinions of course, but maybe you feel that Enterprise bashing is one thing that should not be allowed here. after all, Star Trek is obviously very important to many people here and to say that "Enterprise should die" might be a little offensive to the people here. So I was just wondering what your thoughts on "Enterprise bashing" are.

Personally, I think hateful words about Enterprise, a show many of us would call our favorite show, should be kept in the Risa room. The way I see it is that very few things could be more offensive than bashing the very thing that this site is based upon: Star Trek. I think people should be able to complain about the show to a reasonable degree, but some things I think go across the line of respect for avid watchers here; such as avatars with the Enterprise logo crossed out with a red circle and line.

Keep in mind, people who have a few problems with the show are not bashers. It's those who absolutely hate it and have to tell us about it who are. (imo)

Please, try to be respectful with this topic; I don't want this to get out of hand.

  2. No more Ent... I don't believe it!!!! As for T'Pol's experiment. Vulcan's don't lie so she surely was experimenting, but perhaps there are things she OMITTED. It is possible that T'Pol would only experiment with someone if she cared for them deeply and perhaps she would normally let the experiment continue. (a normal long lasting relationship starts off as an experiment because it is new to the individuals experiencing it) Maybe the only reason that T'Pol did not continue it was because she did feel it was inappropriate. She did say the Trip/Cole thingy was inappropriate afterall. Heck, for all we know, T'Pol was actually entering Pon Farr without our knowledge and she was driven into the act even though she was not normally engage in such activities otherwise. As for the idea that it isn't believable for T'Pol to do such an experiment... she has a HISTORY of experimenting with humans and things that most vulcan's do not. I'm not going into specifics cause if you've watched every episode you should be able to recall some of her past. Anywho, I'm just putting possibilities out there to make a point: be more open minded about the reasons for a characters actions! And, hey, it's just a show!!!!! A good one at that!

  3. Hello fellow Enterprise watchers of Startrekfans! I don't know what tonights episode is about really, but I'm guessing from the name that this episode might have some good material in store for us tonight. I really look forward to it just as I have all other episodes since the beginning. I hope you are all well and dandy. That is my preamble for the night. I will add my thoughts on the episode later tonight following the show. Now, I'm off for some serious study time. Captain Bolivar dismisses you for the time being. But be sure to report back here at 2100 hrs.

WOW! This was one of the most FUN episodes of Enterprise I have ever seen. I loved the rivalry, the jealousy; I loved everything! The episode had a nice light, fun feeling for nearly the whole episode even when people were kicking the **** out of each other. As for the Trip/T'Pol thing: I know some people aren't going to like it, but I liked it for what it was. Sure, I could criticize it to some degree, but I like to see Star Trek move in new directions and explore new ideas. After all, we have no true model for Vulcan women and T'Pol is making the female Vulcan much more interesting than any male Vulcan (with the exception of Spock because Nimoy did the most amazing work creating the most deep alien ever seen on television in his time) I think T'Pol is somewhat like a non-conformist within Vulcan culture and it's nice to see that in my opinion. Also, regarding the harbinger I liked how when the problem with him arose it wasn't taken too seriously to ruin the overall feeling of the episode. As for the strange things that were happening to the alien and how he mentioned that the destruction of Earth would save his people... it added something interesting to think about regarding the arc. Well, as I've said before, this was an incredibly fun episode... from the awkward conversation between T'Pol and Trip before things got crazy, to the punch out flip-a-thon between two very awesome fighters! Because this episode stands out so well as a great fun episode... I have to give it a 10 because not many episodes have ever been so fun!!! I close with my opening. WOW!

  4. It is a close match between T'Pol and Archer. T'Pols morals are more obvious; she doesn't ever walk a grey line. Archer on the other hand does, but this is not to say he is immoral. Some might say he is immoral for the Decompression chamber scene ("airlock Archer") but his actions were chosen on a moral base. The reason I choose Archer is because unlike T'Pol he has to make command decisions based upon his morals. Of course, T'Pol does at times too, but Archer's decisions obviously supercede hers.

  5. Hey it's your favorite Captain here to ask you what you thought of your favorite show (or at least close to favorite)

I voted 7 out of 10; a good vote from me. Read the spoiler to find out more!

“Stratagem” offered a very creative way for Archer to locate the weapon. Archer’s strategy was absolutely genius that I suppose is the relation to the root word in the title: strategy. The simulations presented to Degra were along the lines of deceptions used before in the other Star Treks. The big difference is that these deceptions did not involve the use of holodecks. The crew had to go to extreme lengths to fool Degra. I was impressed with the ingenuity. The only flaw to this episode was the fact that I was always one step ahead of the plot. I had a strong suspicion that it was all a rouse. It was confirmed for me when Degra mentioned the “Council”. At that point Archer said inquisitively: “The council?”. That proved to me that Archer was just fishing for information because if he had truly known Degra for three years Degra would have mentioned the Council before. This should have tipped Degra off as well. Unfortunately, I also had a suspicion about the final rouse using the entire ship as the simulator. Luckily, I was never offered anything substantial, to prove that to me, until Archer revealed it to Degra himself. I will give this episode a 7, but it really could be worth much more. I simply don’t think it was the best episode of the season. My main reason it didn’t get a cast for one of the best of the season was that it didn’t have a strong theme as some of the others have such as “Chosen Realm” and “Similitude”. But on the flip side of the token, not all episodes should have a strong theme. Great episode! Computer: end review. Bolivar out!

  6. Hi it's me again, Captain Bolivar, with what has become my weekly post. And sadly the only post of the week at that. I've shifted my priorities around in life to concentrate more on my career goals. Anyhow, I hope everyone is doing well! And I hope you enjoy Enterprise tonight! I look forward to reading what you think about it. Because I do have time to at least check out your opinions on Enterprise after all... ENJOY THE SHOW!

Well I just finished watching it (this 2nd paragraph is the edit) and I thought it was pretty good! I was certainly happy to see the return of the Andorians. I also liked how they built up a friendship and then shattered it at the end. But it leaves hope for a friendship in the future because it didn't end horribly. They did after all send the scan data to Enterprise. This was not my most favorite episode of the season, but it was a good inclusion to the arc. Also I was impressed with "Weyoun's" acting. He didn't seem like Weyoun! I'd use his real name but that's how we all know him is it not! I find it rather hard to give this episode a rating but like all episodes of the season it was good and it deserves a good rating. I can't give it less than a 7.5. It might be worth an 8 or 8.5 but due to the REALLY spectacular episodes this season I will mark it relative to those and give it a 7.5! By the way, I love the blue skins! :P

  7. Was there any doubt it would be you Alterego? Afterall, you are the top poster... the odds are in your favour. Hats off to you!!!! And Happy New Years to everyone.

(In case Jan 1st is feeling left out, Happy New Day... there, Jan 1st can say we overlooked him for his big brother: 2004!)

Edit: This will my last post for my first year at STF.N. Bye bye 2003!

  8. I thought the last session was really interesting but I wouldn't say I like it more or less than other sessions. Whatever we play is fine with me! So long as it isn't always the same. And ya, I like it when there is a bit more conversation. Maybe the next time we play one with that style you could, after a question is done, give us a moment to talk. Once we're done you move on the next question. Do you think that would work?

  9. I understand what you mean about Fury. I enjoyed the episode but I think they should have remained true to the character of Kes. It did however have a good message. It showed how loved ones can become hateful without good cause and if we remind them that they are loved and remind them about who they once were they can redeem themselves.
