  1. I watched this episode tonight and while it was kind of dark, I actually enjoyed it. It was a nice Torres story, and we see an introduction to the borg that will become a major storyline in the series. However, I do have two questions:

-How old was Vorik. (In vulcan years) Didn't Spock have to deal with Pon Farr when he was a child in The Search for Spock? It seemed kind of odd that he would be going through his first Pon Farr.

-Did we ever see Vorik after this episode. I really enjoyed the fact that he became kind of a recurring character, but he was pushed aside at one point. I'm hoping it wasn't this episode.

  2. I've always wanted to see a movie with Q, and if the TNG cast wants to come back, they should do a good movie with Q, with Frakes directing. If not, there is always the aftermath to the Dominon war, with the DS9 cast. It just better be Moore, Behr, or Echiverra running it other than Berman or Braga. That will be so scary if Braga is doing a DS9 movie.

  3. When I get a chance I'll get the audio of the log from In The Cards and post it.

As for other episodes there's "If Wishes Were Horses" had many funny moments in it, Jadzia being all over Bashir was so funny. "Explorers" wasn't a comedy episode but was a very uplifting story and has always been a favorite. And then there's "Profit and Lace", Quark as a woman. What else needs to be said? lol Also "His Way", that sweeping kiss Odo gives Kira was great and in the seventh season "Take Me Out To The Holosuite". I know that's not really a fan favorite but I always liked it.

DS9 had so many great moments in it it's hard to list them all.

Thanks. It's such a great moment in the series and why I love that episode, as well as the rest of season 5.

  4. I havn't been posting in a while, but I came back tonight and I love all the cool features this board has to over. VBG and anyone else who is involved in the layout, well done.

I do have a question though. I noticed you can collapse curtain sections of the board to make it easier to navigate. Can one program the board to just see specific forums and not others. What I mean is say I wanted to see the DS9 forum but not the Enterprise forum. Can I do that, like one can do on trekbbs, or do we not have that capability.

  5. I just started coming back posting on this forum and most of the topics in here have been about how depressed and how dark DS9 was. Yeah, it was more grittier and there was a war, and it does seem darker than the other series, but as series itself, it wasn't dark at all.

For one, look at the atmosphere on the Station. You walk down the promenade (The most beautiful set every created IMO) and you see red, yellow, green, orenge and so many other different colors. Than you see Ops and the greenish/grayish look. Hell, the Station didn't look dark, it looked beautiful, which is ironic because it was supposed to be, as sisko put's it "a monstracaty."

Than there is the epsiodes themselves, and how many outright comedies there were. I mean the ferengi episodes: Little Green Men, The Nagus, The Magnificent Ferengi were all LOL funny. Than you had some other fun episodes like Trials and Tribble-ations, The House of Quark, Looking for Par'Mach In All The Wrong Places etc. Heck, there were some serious episodes that had some fun moments. In The Cards is one example, as I look at that as the ultimate feel good episode in drama. I mean the war is coming, everything is looking so doom and gloom, so Jake and Nog, in trying to get a baseball card to Ben, cheers up the entire station. Ben's log at the end of the episode showed how light DS9 can get (If anyone has the exact wording, please post it because it is darn good).

Then there are many moments that were fun. One moment was in The Siege with Kira and Dax and the "Fly by the seat of your pants" dialouge. That was great.

What other moments showed a lighter side of DS9. They can be episodes, or scenes, or just subjective moments. We really need some positiveity in this forum.

    :)

  6. I remember Have you Forgotten. It was good for a time, and then it was Overplayed. After that, we started getting all these america is great songs (American Soldier, Letters from Home) and it's starting to get really old. Of course there is a song none of you have heard called "Love Train." It's from Big & Rich (Group who did Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy) and the lyrics are actually pretty good.

I see people gettin mad on CNN

    Who's right... democrats or republicans

    I don't care who's right or wrong

I know a way we can all get along

    Let's take a ride

Let's take a ride on the love train

Unwind, we'll be chuga luggin all the way

Let's roll, like the stone playin all day hey

    Let's take a ride

Let's take a ride on a love train

The whole color thing's never made sense to me

    Who gives a hoot

If your red. yellow, purple or pink

    We're all mixed up anyway

We might as well give each other a brake

    And take a ride

Let's take a ride on the love train

Unwind, we'll be chuga luggin all the way

Let's roll, like the stone playin all day hey

    Let's take a ride

Let's take a ride on a love train

So let's forget about the hatin

And the way the bulls are playin

    Without Jordan on the team

And the high price of gasoline

And if your living in a bubble

Then I guess you got no troubles

But if your anything like me

Well then I bet you really need

    To take a ride

Let's take a ride on the love train

Unwind, we'll be chuga luggin all the way

Let's roll, like the stone playin all day hey

    Let's take a ride

Let's take a ride on a love train

  7. Another sad, tear jerking episode is "The Begotten"...Do you remember it?

It's when Odo purchases a Changeling from Quark not knowing what it was at first and attempts to raise it...

Anyway, it ends up dying at the end...God, my heart sank for poor Odo...

I saw "Begotten" as more of a feel good show actually. Yeah, the changling died, but he linked himself with Odo, and just the happiness of the promenade scene felt really really good. It's one of my underrated favorites of the series.

  8. Just saw the American women obliterate the world record in the 800 free relay. That was a great race, and shows why the swimming has been the best this year. It's a shame it's ending this week, but I guess we have more Track and Diving to look foward to in the second week.

I havn't seen the americans act like big-shots. The swimming rivalrys have been the best probably ever.
