  1. Last night, I saw The Darkness and the Light again and this, like most of the other episodes in season 5 is one of the most underrated episodes of the series. I loved the usage between Darkness and Light in terms of innocence and guilt, and the fact that finally we got to see the Old Kira again. I guess with the baby, Visitor wanted to take it easy, but it was nice to see her kick *buttocks* again. Heck, this might be one of Visitor's best performences not just being she was back to her old self, but the scene in the infermiry when Kira is talking to Odo about how she joined the resistance was just brilliant.

The guy who played Prin was Randy Oglesby. Is he the same guy (Same name) who plays Degra in Enterprise?

Also, do you think Shakaar should have played some role in this show. Sure he is the prime misister of Bajor, but it would have been nice to see the "old" Shakaar back from "Shakaar." If Prin was attacking former members of the cell, one would think the leader would be somewhat involved. ;)

What do you guys think about the episode?

  2. Since the question has been asked about favorite "2 part episodes" of DS9 I thought that it would only be fair that everyone should be able to choose from the complete list of "2  and 3 part episodes".

The way STARTREKFANS.NET defines a 2 or 3 part episode is if there is one story broken into 2 or 3 episodes. A good way to judge this is if when episode 1 ends the words "To Be Continued" are printed on the screen. This indicates that this story is not completed and will be completed in the following episode.

I will also include the only "3 part episode" that I am aware of in all of Star Trek. (If there is another 3 part episode please let me know).

Emissary could actually be left off this list because it was not made as a 2 part episode. There is no "To Be Continued" in it and the credits only roll at the beginning of what is considered to be "Part I" and then the closing credits roll at the end of what is called "Part II". Ir plays as one complete, 2 hour episode though. BUt since it is listed for TV as Part I and Part II, I will include it here as a 2 part episode.

    VBG,

You forgot one of the best 2 parters in all of trek. Improbable Cause (Best dialouge episode) and The Die is Cast. (First big screen TV big battle)

    How could you. :) ;)

  3. Here are a couple more from a really underrated episode, Rapture

-The entire scene in Ops when Kira talks about Faith and how it means everything to her, with Worf agreeing.

-The scene where Kai Winn starts to accept Ben as the Emissary, and talks about her courage with the Cardassians, and then at the end when she feels her life as significantly changed and become more complex.

  5. If DS9 is an addiction, may I never be cured.

    Hopelessly, fatally, eternally addicted...

You're right about that. Like I said, with the DVD's at my disposal, I can actually watch any and all of DS9 whenever I want. That didn't happen two years ago. As for my addiction, I decided to let it play out and see where it goes. Who knows, buy the end of the year, I will be through the series at least 7 times. Hopfully more. :wow:

  6. Who here follows College basketball, or is just a casual fan. I have for quite a few years, and now I think this is the best basketball around, even beating the crappy NBA. These players put thier bodies on the line every game, and this game provides some of the best moments ever, like the Buzzer Beaters, the entire March Madness, and just great play.

Here in the bay Area, its even great to be a College Basketball fan because the #1 undefeated team in the nation is only 15 minutes south of Where I live. I've saw Stanford today and they deserve to be #1. They really play as a team, they are fast on the defensive end, and they are all around good. Do you think Stanford will run the Table and go undefeated all the way. Also, how great will it be if Stanford and St. Joes were playing to the National Title. That will be a great game.

  7. I liked Worf except for 3 occasions The Ship, Looking for Par'Mach in all the Wrong Places, and Let He Who Is Without Sin. In these three episodes, he was such a big cry baby and arrogent ***** that he was ruining the established atmosphere on DS9 from the first 3 seasons. Thank god he got better and actually felt like he belonged.

As for TNG, he was a pretty good character but not one of my favorites. I loved his Arc episodes, and how he developed. I think making him ambassador to Kronos was a perfect way to end his character. Pity he was in Nemesis IMO.

Note: I changed a "naughty* word to * after consulting with our fearless leader.

  8. Are you one of those folks who feels comfortable shareing the fact you like trek among your friends despite the stareotype, or are you one of those who likes to keep it to yourself because you feel kind of embarrassed if others find out you like trek?

Yesterday, I was told at school that I was a very independent person, and then when I came home, I read a great article about the authors confessions of being a closet trekkie. I started to wonder if my indepency was due to my liking of Star Trek because I was afraid people would make fun of me if I even mentioned it. The worst thing about it is I feel more comfortable being independent than being dependent and that isn't good. I do love to socialize and have a ton of friends, but I do feel more independent. I probably will never fathom why we are so stareotyped as fans of a TV show, when we are normal people who like to ski/snowboard, play sports, or read, or whatever.

  9. During the last few weekends, I have watched a ton of DS9. Last weekend starting on Friday night and going to Monday night, I saw Our Man Bashir to The Ship and last night I saw from looking for Par'Mach in all the Wrong Places to The Ascent. 2 years ago, I would not see any DS9, but now that I have the DVD's and going through the season sets for a second time, I can't get away from it. This is such a great show, but I think I'm addicted. Whats the cure to this addiction. ;)

  10. I dunno, I think the TNG characters were in character just as the TOS characters were in character and developed further for their movies.  Perhaps you could use one of the characters as an example?  I'd like to read what you're thinking.

Maybe I just liked the Data who didn't have the emotions from the series, other than the Data who tried so hard to be funny. I just always saw his attitudes such as "Saddle Up, Lock and Load," and the singing in the ship to be out of character for him. Of course to each thier own.
