  1. I hate to act moderator here, but this thread might have some connections to tonights ENT episode "Regeneration." Please remember to use the Spoiler tag for people who come to this thread to talk just about "Q Who?"

    Thanks a bunch.

  2. Has to be Spock. He showed what it means to be Vulcan, and was a great first officer. In ranking them, I would say all of them in chronological order with the exception of Trip who would go ahead of chakotay.

  3. I think Enterprise has the weakest cast. I mean they have a bad leader, an engineer who doesn't do his job and has lunch most of the time, a token black guy who needs more screen time, a vulcan who is getting annoying, (like Trip) and a suicidal weapons officer. The cast also seems to be so bland that the only member of the cast that has talent is Billingsly. I used to this voyager had the weakest cast, because they didn't utilize most of them and the show became "The 7/janeway/doctor show." However, ENT has surpassed that after the first season.

In ranking the series based on cast, I would have to go with:

    TNG

    ST

    DS9

    VOY

    ENT

  4. I voted for "The Offspring" because it was a great episode dealing with Fmaily and getting more into Data's Rights. The ending is touching and overall its a great story. However, my only pet peeve with it was that it seemed like it was "Measure of a Man" redux. Its not a bad thing persay, but it could have been better.

Another great episode that wasn't on the list was Birthright I. The final dream sequence is one of treks best in the entire franchise.

  5. I have all TNG and will have all of DS9 by the end of the. I don't plan to get Voyager next year, nor Enterprise because they are series I don't care if I see again or not, and its expensive. I am getting TNG and DS9 because they are my 2 favorite series.

  6. Heres some great dialogue from The Voyage Home

Gillian: You sure you won't change your mind

Spock: Is there something wrong with the one I have

    :innocent:

Also one from The Final Frontier

The Enterprise is entering the Great Barrier

    Macoy: Are we Dreaming?

Kirk: If we are, than life is a dream

Its scenes like this, and the Yosimite scenes that makes this movie good. Yeah the plot is bad, but the dialouge was quite good.

  7. One of the most diverse guest actors in Trek.  Human, Romulan, two different Cardassians.  (Long live Gul Dukat!  Oops...too late...)

    Happy Birthday Marc

Even though I hated what Dukat became in the sixth and seventh seasons (An obsessed mainiac) he was one of the greatest and interesting characters on the show, and he was the only one who started out in his prime in the first season. All the other characters took some time to find thier footing, but in Emmisary, he was the best character.

  8. Did anyone notice that in Encounter at Farpoint Deanna wore her hair down and a regular uniform (dress) and then after that they totally switched it to the updo and pantsuits? Does anyone know why they did that? Was Encounter at Farpoint filmed much earlier then the rest of the episodes or something?

    10102.jpg115032.jpg

Why the hell did they change her hair style between E@F and The Naked Now. She looks so much better in one, and the rest of the season, she looked so bad. Thank god she changed it back, even though it took them 15 years (When she was on Voyager) to actually get it right.

Did anyone see Sirtis on the Season 1 Bonus features in the hippy/headbanger '80's hairstyle. That was worse. :innocent:

  9. It is impossible to decide, all seasons hade some great episodes and some very good.. But then there was Shades of gray, the last ep. on season 2.. The only really bad episode on TNG, so that makes season 2 the worst (god, I really hate it, will never watch it again)  :innocent:

Wow, one bad episode makes season 2 the worst? You do know that they had a writers Guild Strike that year so they didn't have the money to do a good cliffhanger. There were many good episodes in season 2 (Most are extreemly underrated like:

    Unnatural Selection

    A Matter of Honor

    Contagion

    Q Who

    A Measure of a man

    Elementery Dear Data

    Peek Performance

    Times Squared

Yeah, the second season ended badly (Even though I actually like Shades of Gray, don't hurt me :( ) there were many good episodes. One episode doesn't make the entire season bad.

  10. Lonely Among Us (A good political message)

    TransporterMalfunction,

What do you mean Lonely Among us had a good Political Message. I find that an interesting comment. Can you elaborate.

Anyway, I don't think season 1 is the "Best" season, but it gets a tremendously bad rap. I have been watching this season on DVD lately and have been impressed. I still think the best season would either go to season 4 or 5. However, episodes I do like in season 1 include:

    Lonely Among Us

    The Battle

    Home Soil

Where no One has gone before

Hide and Q (I love the use of literature in this episode)

    Datalore

    11001001

    Coming of age

    Heart of Glory

    The Arsenal of Freedom

    We'll always have Paris

Conspiracy (The best episode of the season)

    The Neutral Zone

Wow, thats quite a list. This season is indeed underrated.

  11. I taped it and saw it last night. Because of the spoilers issue, I will post my thoughts under the spoilers:

    Click for Spoiler:

I really liked the biography even though in thier captian poll they snubbed sisko. :tear: Mr. Stewart has had an illustrious carrer and I think he knows (Better than shatner) not to let Star Trek ruin it. He sure has a great passion for shakespeare which was always a welcome and you can see some of his shakesperean experiance in TNG with epsiodes like "Defector." I couldn't believe the information of his one man play "The Christmas Carol" and the awards he was honored for. Seeing the highlights, I wish I went to go see it. By the way, has anyone gone to see the play and if you did, was it as good as what its reputation seys it is?

One thing I couldn't believe was his choice for Favorite Cartoon in Bevis and Butthead. According to Stewart, "Its intelligently written and Brilliant." Wow this guy must have some taste for saying this.

Overall, it was a pretty good interview and I am glad they showed the Tribute to Gene Roddenberry. (A&E, it was season 5, not season 3) Stewart with his great talent deserves every award he gets.

  12. From Each Season:

Season 1: Justice (I actually like Code of Honor

    Season 2: Pen Pals

Season 3: Tin Man (To the guy who said Ensigns of Command, Why? )

    Season 4: Devils Due

    Season 5: Imaginary Friend

Season 6: Man of the People

    Season 7: Force of Nature

  13. Which episodes of TNG did you find the most touching and funniest and why?

    Touching

Probably "The Inner Light." Even after all the times of watching that episode, the final scene when picard finds out the truth of his existance of Kamin still provides a choked up, emotional feeling. Also, I didn't respect it before, but the final scene where he holds the flute to his heart and then the show ends with the theme to the episode is one of the best written, acted, and emotional scenes of the series. I think the music staff did a brilliant job providing such an elegant and emotional scene at the end of a beautiful episode like "Inner Light."

I also liked that Jay Cattaway explained that scene in detail on the Season 5 bonus features which probably made that scene even more brilliant and touching. It was truly a masterpeice and to those who say that these characters never changed, I answer back saying watch "The Inner Light" It may be an overrated episode, but that scene alone changed picards life so much from the his jackass attitude in the first couple seasons that saying otherwise would be Blasphamy. These characters did change, probably not as noticable as in DS9, but the change was there nonthaless.

    Funniest

I would say its a tie between Qpid and Phantassms even though going back through the series there are tons of funny parts that were not ment to be funny, most of which included Worf. I say Qpid because it looked like in this episode the cast really were having fun with it espessically with the fight scene. Its finally good to see the two women on the show (Who always seemed to be pushed back and not do anything spontainious for some reason) get into the action both mentally and physically. :look:

With Phantassms, even though its not the best Worf made this episode really really good. His "cellular piptide cake" comments were harlarious and the scene with Data asking worf to take care of spot was priceless.
