Dixie was the one who stood up to Jarrett at the last TNA PPV when he demanded to get the belt back. She told him no, so he refused to wrestle in the match. Hopefully, Jarrett's days in TNA are numbered.

I see that Dave Hebner has also been fired by the WWE. This must have been a real scandal.

You know, I don't know what it is with these guys.

HHH and Jeff Jarrett.

If they really want to be eternal champions, I'm sure they can simply have some belts made, stay at home and walk around pretending to be winners.

LOL!!!!

They fired DAVE Hebner too?

Wow, they are firing everyone. They got rid of Earl Hebner a few days ago.

Dixie Carter sounds like a HICK porn star name. :flowers:

But if she can control the Jarretts, then she's cool.

They actually don't own the majority share in TNA anymore.

Which itself could be the reason why the company is fast improving.

The loss of the Hebners is no big loss anyway. I like Nick Patrick better. At least he had some sort of character, and Earl Hebner couldn't sell a bump to save his life.

I had forgotten about it until you just mentioned it.

Which is part of the problem.

PPV's occur so often now, they've lost all sense of importance.

In fact, there's not really much difference between PPV's (except WM) and Smackdown and Raw.

Nothing special to set them apart.

The Spike TV deal is good news.

Let's hope that Spike promotes TNA properly and TNA pays back Spike's faith in them by booking their talent properly.

The UPN thing I can understand. The whole Hassan character has been hideously mishandled. Basing a character indirectly on post September 11th America was doomed to failure.

The fans don't give a crap about politics, terrorism and Arab/United States relations.

For the few hours they watch wrestling, they want escapism and solidly booked shows. It's just that Vince is so foolish, he will exploit anything in a desperate attempt to gain profit even though wrestling history has proven that angles like that do not draw.

Wow. I guess they can either make Hassan a face or transfer him back to RAW. What else can they do?

I think it's more likely they would simply release him.

A shame actually. But it seems probable.

Either that or he would be stuck on a B-Level show like Velocity.

I could see him Showing up @ the GAB and attacking Batista, and set up a Match between then at SummerSlam

I think it could very well happen.

A Batista vs Lesnar match would increase the buyrate for SummerSlam, increase the strength of the SmackDOWN roster and take that particular title from Batista who honestly has been a flop as champion.

The fact is that the WWE needs Lesnar right now, so Vince should stop ******* around and sign him.

It's because they consider her too old to be a Diva.

There is no women's division for her to compete in.

And her announcing is terrible because she has a very annoying voice.

Some news from Wade Keller on The Torch.

WWE released this statement concerning Muhammad Hassan:

WWE.com issued the following statement regarding the status of Muhammad Hassan's character (PWTorch.com reported yesterday that UPN had requested the Hassan character not be used on future Smackdown shows): "Due to the unfortunate terrorist attacks in London on Thursday, July 7, which coincided with our pre-produced WWE Smackdown program, UPN has asked us to be sensitive to the usage of the Arab-American character, Muhammad Hassan. We have agreed with UPN, and have not had the character on Smackdown since that date. It is uncertain as to whether or not the WWE will continue with this character beyond this Sunday's pay-per-view, The Great American Bash."

I think the writing is on the wall for poor ole' Muhammad.

I'd miss Davari and his yelling the most. He is hilarious. Maybe they will do a "Chavo" with Hassan and have him renounce his Middle Eastern heritage and embrace the US.

Davari was hilarious.

A Middle-Eastern gimmick like the Iron Shiek would have been the best option.

Just generic anti-Americanism which always produces cheap but great heel heat.

The "I'm A Mistreated Arab-American" always had a short gimmick life. It was never going to last long.

If they really wanted to get an "Arab" performer over on merit, then someone using a gimmick like Sabu would be needed.

The Greatest American Bash

PPV Predictions

WWE Heavyweight Championship

Dave Batista vs. John Bradshaw Layfield

I expect Batista to retain his title in a violent bloodbath. Although to be honest, he's such a boring champion I actually want JBL to win it. Even though he's a total ******* and an ignorant bully, JBL was a riot the last time he was champion and was priceless on the mike. I still have a slight hope Brock Lesnar will do a run-in and kill both these SOB's, but it's a very slim hope.

Prediction = Dave Batista to retain by pinfall.

WWE United States Championship Match

Orlando Jordan vs. Chris Benoit

Orlando Jordan has been an absolute piss poor WWE United States Champion and I have no doubt that Benoit is going to take this title since there is NO WAY that he should be made to job to Orlando Jordan. This will be a virtual squash match.

Prediction = Chris Benoit wins the title by submission.

Muhammad Hassan vs. Undertaker

This match will not take place. Because of the recent UPN/Terrorist Angle controversy (which was edited here in the UK, so I never saw it anyway). Makes no difference anyway because Hassan would have been squashed by the Underseller.

Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio

Tough one to predict. I don't know if this is the end of this angle between these two or whether this match will simply bring with it a new development in the story. Either way I couldn't give a rats ***. I just want to see a tremendous match featuring two of the world's greatest talents.

Prediction = Eddie Guerrero probably.

Melina vs. Torrie Wilson (Bra & Panties Match)

This, ladies and gentlemen will be your piss-break match. Torrie Wilson is prettier and has a better body. Melina has a misproportioned body and a face like a donkey's ***. But I expect both women to strip each other down to their knickerbockers and brassieres. Uh...what? They don't call women's undergarments those names anymore? Isn't this 1924? Oh OK then.

Prediction = I predict you will get a nice snack during this match.

WWE Tag Team Championship

MNM vs. Heidenreich & Road Warrior Animal

OK, this is the one I'm dreading. I actually like Nitro and Mercury. They are arrogant and good looking. I can relate to that. But Heidenhitler and Pregnant Animal are going to either win this match because they've been playing the "Hawk Is Dead" sentimentality card, or they'll lose and Heidenhimmler will turn on Animal and send him to join Hawk in the Legion Of Death.

Prediction = I hope MNM. I fear the fat guy and the Nazi will win this one.

Christian vs. Booker T

Booker T has nothing left to do now. I mean seriously. After you've defended your wife against a bald Olympic gold medallist with rapist intentions, what is left to do?

Christian is a star in the making and simply MUST win this match.

Prediction = Christian.

The bWo vs. The Mexicools

Prediction = Who cares? I just want to see the bWo's entrance. Those guys are frickin hilarious.

Hmmm, apparently I was mistaken.

The Undertaker vs Muhammad Hassan match WILL go ahead tonight at the Great American Bash.

I read the WWE official statement on the "Parents" section of their website and it does mention that they may not proceed with the character BEYOND tonight's PPV.

So tonight could be Muhammad Hassan's last match in the WWE.

Well I think they believe their actions to be "sensitive".

It's hard for me to say because they removed that particular part of the show out here in the UK.

But given the controversial nature of the character, it seemed dumb of the WWE to move Hassan to SmackDOWN.
