They had time to bring Worf aboard. -
Even thought they were on a space station it didn't make a difference after they got the Defiant. In the other Star Treks, the plot is completely contained within the ship. Then there are out of ship epidoes. With the Defiant, DS9 could acheive both easily. So I don't think it made much difference. Even by shuttle, there was lots to explore in the area (being a volitile region on Space with the Cardies) and especially with the wormhole. Being on a space station didn't limit the stories that could be told at all. -
I always thought the DS9 one looked MUCH better. I figured that most people would. I was suprised to see a tie! I dislike the TNG one. Even the ones from the not so distant Star Trek future look better to me than the TNG ones. I also love the Classic Movie insignias (even tho they aren't comm badges, but like one) -
Sure, it could be written like that, but this is a very old episode in the universe of Trek. It is unlikely that B & B would care to sue such an obscure reference. Personally, I would think that the Vorgons are the good guys in the TCW. Secondly, they were from the 27th century. The ppl who have contacted the Suliban are from the 29th. This makes it somewhat less likely for it to be them. -
Miles is associated with TNG, but he never really shined until DS9. He had a few TNG episodes, but was a major character through out DS9. Worf was not. Worf had his main stay on TNG, so him being in the movie makes the most sense. I'm not saying it wouldn't have been great if O'brien made it into first contact, but I'm just saying why the writters may not have bothered. The other possibility is that they thought about the idea, but dissmissed it because O'Brien would most likely be repairing the Defiant after the battle. -
I agree. Afterall, some soap operas (not that I like them) have been around for more than 25 years. If they can keep going on what little they have, Star Trek can't be doomed, because Star Trek has so much more! -
Hey, thanks for the congrats... but I did win by default *laughs*. Hope see more participants in the Holiday Banner Contest!!!! -
Good question, I've posted what I envision as a possibility in another thread:http://www.startrekfans.net/index.php?show...t=0entry84371
Basically I think the Jem'Hadar (Some of them) are rebelling because of how the war ended. Possibily the "Alpha's", and Odo comes back from the Great Link to ask for Federation help in destroying the rebellion.
I'd rather not speculate too much. I would think that the Dominion has gone back to enforcing rule upon the Gamma Quadrant. VBG's theory is that perhaps the Alpha's are rebelling. Maybe! They have shown differences in mentality compared to the Gamma's, but for the most part the Jem'Hadar are all quite similar and do not disagree to much. With a plentiful supply of Ketracel white for the Gamma's and the Alpha's in the Gamma quadrant they might not be as inclined to fight amongst each other. It could go either way I guess. It's either A ) nice and peachy, or
B ) the Alpha's fight against the Gamma's most likely getting wiped out by the Gamma's. The Alpha's do not have the force to take on the entire Gamma population of Jem'Hadars. Personally I don't think Odo would seek the Federations help because it is unlikely that the Federation would want to risk sustained conflict. After how close the Alpha Quadrant came to being overtaken, it wouldn't be worth the risk. Besides, helping with the conflict would be a breach of the Prime Directive I believe. But it is quite possible that strife is plauging the Dominion in their region of space.

Yeah, I was just browsing the site! Amazing starship models for download! WOW! I've I was into making VG video's I'd get me some of those! -
I must agree with the good Captain. Starfleet can be independent of the Federation at any point in time, but they are also dependant. Starfleet is a MEMBER of the Federation and can drop out at anytime; thus, they are co-dependant. Besides, Starfleet is Starfleet regardless. So if Spock was the "first Vulcan Starfleet officer" T'Pol cannot be. The Federation has nothing to do with it. -
yeap...........but i think they could give her a provisional rank....espec. in the ExpanseDunno if they're allowed to as Janeway couldn't make Seven, Neelix, nor Kes "provisional" officers. Besides, Spock was the first Vulcan in Starfleet. If T'Pol joins Starfleet, that throws off continuity. Normally, I'm lax on continuity in favor of creative writing, but I'd rather Spock remain the first Vulcan in Starfleet.
In fact Janeway could make the "provisional" officers. In "Year of Hell" we see Neelix in Starfleet gold as a secuity officer. There was simply no real need to do so in the normal Voyager timeline. Futhermore, I like the fact that Phlox and T'Pol have different looks. If adds a little spice and variety to the show. But it would be fun to see what they look like in Starfleet uniforms. Kira never looked better than when she was in Starfleet Red... except for times when she wore considerably less.

I tried to set my VCR up to tape it. The first time my VCR's clock was set to am rather than pm so I missed it. The second time it aired by VCR was set up perfectly, but sometimes it just doesn't work right so I missed it again. I noticed part way thru that it wasn't recording so I pressed record myself. I caught the last half hour. Very informative. I know lots about phsyics theories, but I never did understand String Theory. GREAT SHOW.
I guess Kes was seeing strings when she looked beyond the sub atomic!

Many shows get only 18 episodes. I believe this is the most common number. Friends in its final season is only getting 16. The reason why Trek might get 26 is because it has a pretty big budget. Shows in the past always had at LEAST 26. There used to be a new episdoe EVERY week, not just some of the weeks. But TV is more costly now, thus they make less episodes. -
B4's head was simply disconnected while he was still turned on. My guess is that the head has it's own power source. As for Data in "Time's Arrow", his head was blown off his body from an overload.Yes, Data's head does have it's own power source. Remember in the episode "Disaster" Riker brought his head to Engineering to stabalize the warp field.

Lol, you don't have to congratulate me. I WON BY DEFAULT... BUt I would have won anyhow. Just kidding. Thanks for the trivia points. I'll need them since I haven't been doing the trivia lately. I just don't have the time with school and work. I look forward to the holiday banner contest!
Oh, maybe next time the mods should participate. It might prevent a default win!

9 out of 10!!!
Click for Spoiler:
This was a great episode. Like everyone, I enjoyed the fact that they did not get caught. It reduced the action to make room for more story. Archer's realization that the Xindi he questioned was of good moral standing was great. I was very happy when Archer gave the Xindi trust. It shows that he is not a robot, that he can overlook his predjudice in light of new facts. Angry Archer is great, but I like to see nice Archer at times too.
P.S. The "seekers" reminded me of "Arsenal" too
P.P.S. Since the series opener, they have used phasers in every episode!

I've noticed this post is in both the "movie" section and the "books & fan fiction" section. I assume since your new to Startrekfans.net you did not know that each topic should only be posted once. Don't feel bad, no harm done, just keep it in mind next time. Enjoy your time here! -
I use MS Paint and Paint Shop Pro. It's the trial version, but I just set my clock back. I don't use it nearly enough to warrant paying for the full version.
I've almost finished my holiday banner. I think it is rather clever. However, I'm having trouble with the title caption. I just don't know what colors I should use. I thought red and white alternating would look good, but I'm having trouble making the letters white with Paint Shop Pro. I was able to make them red easily with the Histogram function... any ideas on how to make them white?

TOM AND KES! Ya, I liked that possibility. But when Tom and B'elanna got togther I was happy, cause it was such a surprise for me.
Hmm, Riker and Shelby! JUST KIDDING.
Data with someone after he got himself emotions.
Julian and Ezri... Ezri and Worf seemed as awkward as Worf and Deanna.
But, I also would have liked to have seen Julian and Jadzia together. If that were to have happened, I would not have wanted him to get together with Ezri.
I don't really know what else...
Wesley and Spot. He could have earned himself an dishonourable discharge just so we didn't have to put up with him.

Wow
in Ten Forward
I was reading some random threads on IMDb forums and I came across a almost incredible amount of people saying that Star trek must be 'saved' and that there ideas would do be the ones that did it. While there were some bad ones:by - MPalkovic906 (Thu Oct 16 16:07:25) Ignore this User | Report Abuse

Howabout a star trek tales series each weak a different ship, a different ctew, a different time, and a different place. Each episode would be different, all of the main charicters could die, bad guies could win. With the other series you are stuck with one crew, one ship, and one time (and part of the galixy).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And some not so-bad-ones:
Well, there were no not-so-bad ideas there, ALL of the ideas for a new show were flawed and not thought out, but some were worse then others (see above)
I don't think that Star Trek needs 'saving' in any way. I just wondered if anyone else had any thoughts on the subject.
I think that Star Trek could you a brush up, but nothin insane like what all those fools out there propose. I think Enterprise should stay, and that an arcing story is good for Star Trek, but the show still needs some tweaking to deal with some of the common criticisms of the show. Overall, Trek is still Trek. Those crazy ideas put out there come from people who DO NOT know how to write and DO NOT understand what Star Trek is all about. Kill the good guys? What the heck is that about?

I believe VBG is talking about the pop ups that occur on XP due to windows/msn messenger. But we'll let him confirm that!
Oh, VBG, will disabling the pop ups prevent msn messenger or windows messenger from functioning properly? I do talk to people alot with it, and wish to continue doing so. Thanks!

Stardate:213825.9No i dont think the borg are destroyed.Sooner or later they would adapt to the virus. The borg collective is too massive IMO.I think they will be around for a very long time and its gonna take more than a virus to totally wipe them out.
This is kinda off topic but do the Borg control all 6 transwarp hubs or what?I know they are in each corner of the galaxy so have the borg found them all????
The problem with the virus was that it infected any borg connected to the collective mind immediately. Once infected, it only took mere minutes for the Borgs to fall apart and or explode. The queen exclaimed that one ship did adapt, but she did not express that others had. That ship was later destroyed. It could be that no other ship did adapt. Can't say for sure though, this is just circumstantial evidence.

Spock and Seven are the only two that I even like from that group. And since I don't consider Seven to be half-borg but rather a human with implants, my vote is defaulted to Spock, who would win anyways! Spock is a fantastic character. The first and best believalble alien on TV. -
You know I'm not sure. All that I can say for certain is that it wouldn't be a Vulcan, although I would enjoy a game of chess with Spock.
