  1. Here I am on the side of controversy again and the minority BUT I would like to see Archer killed off in a blaze of glory and bring Trip in promoted to captain. Archer is too weak and unstable as a captain. I think Trip's go get em style would fit closer to the TOS type of captain. Archer is too TNG/Picard type to be believable.

    Ktrek

Wow, you really think Acher is too much like Picard. Picard could talk in a nice manner even if he truly hated whoever it was he was speaking with. I don't see that in Archer, never did. He seems more like a tough, aggressive Captain to me. Also, why does everyone think he should act like Kirk. He may be the first Captain to set the standard, but that doesn't mean he can't have his own style of command. It is his values and principles that matter.

Now on to why I choose Mayweather... I like Mayweather, but he serves to real character purpose. He has a functional one which is piloting Enterprise, but anyone can do that. He seems replacable to me, even though I do like his character. Hoshi is a character that I don't like, but they need at least one human female as a main character, and her translation skills are the best, but it seems that even those aren't even needed anymore. I think they should have killed Mayweather's sister rather than Trips... it would have given him SOMETHING on the show. P.S. I do NOT want Archer to die in any death, even a glorious one, he is one of my favorite captains... meh, they are all my fav (except Janeway).

  2. In Deep Space Nine, the Cardassians are portrayed in a mostly negative way throughout the entire series. But if you want to know why I think they have redeeming qualities, you'll have to check out my spoiler. It will spoil some of DS9 for you.

    Click for Spoiler:

In Deep Space Nine, the Cardassians are portrayed in a mostly negative way thoughout the entire series. They even ally with the Breen and the Dominion and wreak havoc upon the Federation, the Klingons, the Rommies, and many other people. But the Cardies were led into this alliance by Gul Dukat, a poor leader. Eventually, they come to realize that the alliance is bad for them... and eventually fight back and switch sides, helping the Federation defeat the Dominion. It is mostly the Cardassian military, and the Obsidian order that presents us with the bad Cardies... the rest are actually quite decent I think. For me, the Cardassian military rulers were equivalent to the Nazi's which explains their system of justice and their occupation of the Bajorans. Like in Nazi Germany, it was the military and the rulers that were bad, not the people. That is just how I interpret the Cardassians. Feel free to disagree!

  3. Yeah, the alien actor...er, actor alien... whatever... he did seem VERY familliar... even without the makeup to me, but I could not place him either. Oh and just to let ya know Jack, the protocol requiring the senior officer to go on away missions of first contact does not change after ENT. This was established in other treks but at times they do break the rule. Well, everytime really, just like with the "prime" directive. More like the "If you want to" directive.

  4. Ok, I realize that the crew have entered I hostile region of space so some phaser fire is expected, but every episode this season has had phaser fire in it. The other episodes were much more action based so it was a little more understandable, but then they do a "quieter" episode, and they still find a reason to squeeze several rounds off. Even with DS9, the most war like of all treks, we didn't see that much phaser fire. I really wish the could let up for at least one episode every now and then.

P.S. At least the phasers were used for a more constructive use in Exile... I dislike it when every episode deals with violence... so I was happy with this episode... I'm happy with them all... it really is just a minor critisism. Please don't think me as an ENT hater... I'm a lover not a hater!

  5. I think other captains would have made similar decisions. I never thought there was any debate about the FIRST episode of VOY. Obviously her biggest decision was to destroy the Caretakers array to save the Ocampa. I suppose one could argue that she broke the prime directive by doing that, but sometimes, you just gotta say "Prime Directive Be Damned".

  6. I love enterprise, like I love all other treks, I just don't bother to post something with every episode. If I see something significant in an ep I might mention it, or if its a season premier I will definately say something, but for the most part, I just add a reply to a topic...

  7. I'm in a rather funny mood today, so I thought I was make an odd poll of sorts. Well, there you have it! Since I made a poll, I shall answer "to poll"... it only makes sense... but seriously, I don't get the point of this question. Anyone care to enlighten me? Now it is time to type open squarish bracket, slash, glow, and close handle bar-like bracket; thus, giving my post the illustrious glow and shine much like my favorite shampoo does my hair. Peace!

  8. Ok, I'm not from America; I live in Canada, so my view point on your currency might be from a different angle. It's got more security... thats a good thing. But seriously, the commercials say that the new bills now have COLOR. What a joke. Still looks black and white to me. Just take a look at our colorful, beautiful, and dazzling bills, and you will notice the diff! Oh, and what's with the $1 bill thing. They last for such a short time and their value makes it NOT WORTH IT. Go for a coin, you will get more bang for your buck, to coin a phrase. (Both puns fully intended) But for the obvious counter argument: you are RIGHT... the $2 CANADIAN COIN IS A PAIN IN THE BUTT. And that concludes my procrastination and my ramble for the day.

P.S. Just think of it, in the 23rd century this will be one less thing to ramble about. I guess I was born in the right era. Cause I LOVE TO RAMBLE!

  9. i said neo because if the are in the Matrix neo is the most powerful thing

and if they are outside of the MAtrix neo can shoot some electrisity out of his hands at him like at the end of the Matrix reloaded

o would also win outside of the Matrix because he can shoot electricty from his hands like some half rate evil Emporer from Star Wars. But how is it that you know Neo was in the real world when he did that. How do you know that the matrix isn't a matrix within a matrix. You could be right, it cannot be said until we see the last movie.

  10. -The Asteroids are full of Trellium D but are still affected by anomalies? (Could be a goof but could only refined Trellium D is able to insulate against anomalies)

Ok, that one is a little hard to explain. Perhaps the asteroids aren't completely insulated. In other words, maybe the anomalies can affect the parts of the asteroids that don't contain much trellium D.

    DID YOU NOTICE

That the shuttle pods weren't affected the same way that the asteroids were!

That since T'Pol is "allergic" to Trellium D she most likely will not get to go aboard any alien ships in the expanse. Bummer.

That T'Pol was wearing a new purple uniform while watching the movie in her dream.

That this was the second time T'Pol has gone paranoid/insane due to environmental conditions. (See season 1's episode "Strange New World")

That Mayweather has landed shuttlepods on meterors twice now.

  11. They often say in episodes that photon topedos can take out large cities in Star Trek. Don't they?

Well, it would depend on the strength of the torpedo, in First Contact when the Borg are attacking the missle complex they are firing something similar to Quantum torpedos, and they weren't destroying more than 10 or 20 feet from the blast area.

True they didn't do much damage in that example but we also know that the power of a photon torpedo is variable... they even are in Enterprise from the moment Starfleet invents them!

  12. Starfleet is like NASA with Navy like components. Nasa is a space program, but our exploration of space is limited, and the missions are much different than missions that a naval officer might be involved in.

Those in the Navy travel across sea to other places. Those in Starfleet travel across space to other worlds.

Nasa doesn't have to worry about hostiles or friendlies... both the Navy and Starfleet do.

Nasa is like the preliminary program to get us into space. Once contact is made, we would need something like Starfleet to go out there. Would we call it nasa... we could, but it would still have to morph into a navy like unit.

Keep in mind that there was a time when the oceans were unexplored, and nobody knew there was people on the other side of the seas so to speak. This is analogous to our situation with space right now, but eventually the oceans needed navies... and so will space... sheesh, what a ramble!

  13. My avatar was originally my head on Bashirs body in front of a DS( turbo lift backing. I also changed his uniform color to red to go with my name of Captain Bolivar. Then when my name was changed I made my uniform blue like it was origially. I need to change it back to red now that I'm a commander. I blacked out all the background and got myself some color codes for LCARS buttons and started drawing some. The final result is me in starfleet blue in front of a computer panel. I liked that the lighting on the picture of Bashir was somewhat orange in glow; this later matched the orange glow that might come from a computer terminal with several orange lights.

  14. GOOD GUYS

TOS Spock - "The needs of the many? Who cares about them!"

TNG Riker - "Damn, why does Picard get all the women?"

DS9 O'Brien - "How come I'm the only enlisted man in Starfleet?"

VOY Janeway - "Your right Chakotay, I was wrong"

ENT Trip - "So they killed my sister, it was just a simple misunderstanding."

    VILLIANS

TOS Kahn - "I was the most powerful man on Earth, time to settle down now"

TNG Tomalak - "Care for a tour of the Romulan Empire?"

DS9 Female Changling - "We didn't want the alpha quadrant anyways"

VOY Borg Queen - "Perfection is irrelevant"

ENT Silik - "Why should I care if you have secrets from the future?"

  15. Personally, I was happy with T'Pols actions. Rajiin was an alien and thus it is impossible to say that T'pol has the necesary defences to stop that species. We don't know how Rajiin's species uses telepathy. As for the assualt comment; even though it was an assault that does not mean it wasn't sexual. I'm not saying that it was for sure in this case, but the I think there may have been sexual undertones. If that happens to be the case, the assualt with the inclusion of sexual undertones would be considered sexual assualt (according to Canadian Criminal Code) Oh, and is it just me or does it seem to be a common theme to have T'pols mind violated?

  16. After leaving the cell, Kim glanced around the room. After spying a cabinet of sorts, Kim took a look inside. Luckily for him, there was two sets of phasers, two sets of tricorders, but oddly Kim's communicator was missing.

As kim tossed a tricorder and a phaser to the Doc he said, "Ok Doc, lets see if we can find out a few things with the computer console. I'm going to see if I can use the computer to locate the missing communicator, we can't leave that for this relatively primitive culture to analyse. And uh, see what you can do to find a safe route out of this building with the console Doc."

Kim began searching the unreadable database and found what he was looking for rather fast, entirely out of good luck

"I think I've found it, the communicator seems to be in the adjacent room", Kim informed with a great deal of puzzlement. "Doc, wait here, I will only be a moment"

Kim quicky opened the door on the far end of the cell room. His phaser was primed for action but to Kim's relief nobody was in the adjacent room. Kim looked back to make sure that he was still in the Doc's plain view. Kim found the communicator jury rigged to a very portable tri-axial resonator. The technology was obviously not something that Lylar's warrior like species could have invented, but it was of little consequence.

"Doc, a resonator device has been linked to the Comm badge in a very odd configuration. I think it might actually work to contact Chakotay and Seven once we get outside of this metallic building!"

Kim's tone was completely enthusiastic now, "Alright Doc, you lead the way!"

  17. Unfortunately, I would actually have to agree. I don't find myself watching reruns of Voyager nearly as often as I do the other Star Treks. I fear this may end up being the same with Enterprise, even thought I do love the show. I loved Voyager too, but for the reasons listed, I would say it is the weakest Star Trek. Too soon to tell if Entperprise will fall into the same problem, it is showing some promise with season 3.

  18. Kim gave the run down for the doc, "Just a slight pain in my chest and abdomen and a feeling of dizziness." Kim assumed to himself that it wouldn't be enough for the Doctor to diagnose him.

Harry decided to lighten the mood a bit with a little humor that was probably in bad taste, "Medically, I'm not having much luck on these away missions am I?"

Then the revelation hit Kim. "Doc, this cell isn't a forcefield, we could slide your holoemitter through the bars and reactivate you. You should be able to unlock the door from the console on the other side of the room."
