  1. With all the great minds in here.  How much do you think it would cost to build One Enterprise? And don't forget the giant cup-holders on the Bridge for your Big Gulp  HHmmmmmm. And no fair saying 'A Gazillion Dollars'

We don't have the technology to build such a ship nor are the nations of Earth in any condition to attempt such a sovereign endeavor.

  2. and captain, they dont own my fan fiction....thats what i would be selling.

Well, the problem is that STAR TREK is copyrighted and subsiquently owned by Paramount Pictures. Thus, if you would not be able to sell your fan-fic since Paramount owns Trek and you do not. You could get an agent and try to work for Paramount though. However, after 3 shows in the 24th century, I'd rather see the 22nd century explorred for a while. I'd still like to see a few more 24th century movies.

  3. I was watching TNG's first episode a few days ago and have just realised something which has made me think.

When Riker goes into the holodeck and finds data wesley follows and falls into the river however when they leave the holodeck he is still wet from falling in however the water was holographic so when he left the holodeck the water should of disappeared but didn't.

Anyone have an explanation for this?

    :tank:  :tomcat:  :tank:

The holodecks incorporate replicator technology. Thus, if you eat a doughnut, get wet, throw a snow ball, or something similar... then it can leave the holodeck. Something like a book or prop would not though.

  4. Its your second guess about Species 125 that is correct.

The reason i think every vessel & Hub has a lair is because of 2 reason.

    1. in ST:FC we notice how they made a lair for her in the Ent-E, which signify its like a priority 1 for when the Queen is around.

Well, they had to create a lair for the Queen becuase the Queen had to go back with them, other wise the small collective in the past would fall into chaos.

    2. Where's the logic in having only 1 lair????

That's the most illogical thing to do, The Queen don't ride on Diamonds alone, she can board any vessels. So far Cube & Diamond are the only known vessels she boarded.

Well, Cube, Sphere, and Diamond ships. However, I think they don't create a Borg Queen lair unless she boards the ship. Other wise, scans would have produced some kind of "bridge" type place.

anyway she needs to regenerate right???

So why would she be doing 6 years away from her precious Diamond??? heading to earth? Where would she regenerate?

Who said it took 6 years to journey to Earth? Most likely, she sends a cube towards Earth. Just before engaging Starfleet, the cube constructs the Queen inside a lair, set up within the escape sphere. So, you would have two Queens. One in Unimatrix 01 and another within the cube's escape Sphere, ready to enter the past.

  5. i was interested to see some people's opinion on this subject. is love a biological urge or a spiritual quality? explain your opinion.

It depends. Their are many forms of love. Which form are you inquiring about?

  6. CJLP

You need to download the Bring Kirk back Trailer(its really Great Trek)

I did. Personally, I thought it was a fanboyish production. It would make for great fan fiction, but there's no way I'd watch anything like that if actually produced.

    KIRK is KIRK!

Yes, but his chapter of Trek came to a close with THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY.

He is the all time most macho Captain(ok So Sisko ,Archer and Picard were macho too.But kirk got all the ladies)

Actually, I think Sisko is the most macho Captain.

    He also died really bad!

Oh? Retired Captain James T. Kirk left the Nexus, a place where he could live out eternity in bliss, to help a future Captain of the Enterprise, Picard, in order to save a civilization he's never heard of before. That, to me, sounds like a very heroic thing to do. As for being killed by a collasped bridge, I think that was a good way to kill off Captain Kirk. Why? It was completely unexpected and unpredictable for a man who's survived such extreme circumstances. If he had gone down on the bridge of the Enterprise, it would'a been a bit predictable.

Its like leaving Spock dead..They HAD to bring him back..

Spock was brought back becuase Leonard Nimoy decided he wanted to continue the role of Spock.

Also all the books like "the Return" and so forth (penned by Shatner) did really REALLY well and were Great reads

I'm not into Trek books. There's over 600 episodes and 10 movies. There's so much Trek to watch, I wouldn't have an interrest in reading a Trek book. I'd rather just pull out an old episode, watch a movie, or wait for the next episode of ENT.

  7. Trekzone, your thread title scared the crap out of me!

Nice ship..Now sell it to paramount so they could revamp the damn series(and probally steal all the credit)

He can't sell it to Paramount since they own the rights to Star Trek. The best he can do is get an agent and try to submit his ideas. However, if he doesn't have any Hollywood influence, they'll either use his idea without him getting paid, turn him down, or consider hiring him as a possible writer.

Oh, and Trekzone, I'm not thrilled at the idea of reboots and avoid them all together. How would you be rebooting Trek?

  8. I don't want you to get the impression that I'm not happy being a human, because I am.  I jsut think it would be so wicked to be a vulcan and have pointy ears!  But can you guys imagine QSMB being logical?  I'd be the crazy/stupid vulcan.  But at least I'd have those sexay pointy ears...

Hmm... OK, let's say we have a special "DNA manipulator" so we can spend a month as an alien. There's two races I'd like to experrience being:

Borg - To experrience life as a cyborg, but I'd be disconnected from the hive mind.

Ocampan - Powerful mind powers.

  9. Every Borg Vessels & structures have a lair for the Queen. Incase she intends to do something personally.

There's no evidance to support that. I believe that the Queen's "lair" is within her diamond ship in Unimatriz 01. I also believe she left Unimatrix 01 onboard a special Cube with an escape Sphere and headed for Earth. In the event that Starfleet figured out how to destroy the cube, she would have the backup plan of taking an escape sphere into the past to change history. Once that Queen had left enterred the past with no changes to the timeline, I believe it would be like splitting a worm in half - you have two worms. Thus, the Queen "rebuilds" herself when Seven shows up in "Dark Frontier". I had believed that she just cloned her upper body until she said she was from Species 125. This either implies that the original Queen is from Species 125 or that when the Queen dies, a new drone, resembling the original Queen, is promoted to serve as host to the Queen consciencous.

  10. I think UPN is harming Enterprise becuase when a show is on a network, you have network executives telling them what to do. However, when a show is in syndication, the producers pretty much have complete creative control. This is why I really want ENT to be syndicated and not on a network, so that the producers don't have to answer to network executives.

  11. I have been thinking about Data's death for a long time.  It is believed by the all knowing that his death was a noble.

    Yes, very noble indeed.

    For me it was not.

    Oh?

Picard let his ego get in the way and the need to proven himself that he is not Shizzron.  I think that is how you spell his name.

It's Shinzon, but yeah, I agree. Picard felt he had to prove that he was not Shinzon and maybe felt he might be able to get through to Shinzon while fighting him at the same time. Not sure about the getting through part though.

Plus Data would have been a live if Picard obeyed the regulations and stayed on board the ship.

I think Picard felt that he was partly responsible for the situation, and as a Captain, that he should be the one to stop Shinzon's Schimitar instead of sending a crewmen to their death. Data, however, was very loyal to Captain Picard and felt that he should sacrifice himself to save his captain. One of Data's most Human-like acts was sacrificing himself to save a fellow man.

NOTE: If I were Picard, I would'a orderred Geordi to eject the warp core, then used the Captain's Yacht or a shuttlecraft's tractor beam to fling it at the Schimitar. BOOM! :b-day:

  12.

Unity - We learn that there are other free drones not just those encountered by Federation.

Scorpion, Part I - We learn there's tons of vessels out there  & that the Collective can function at the Queen's absense:wow:

Scorpion, Part II - We learn there's a possible chance for peace with the Borg. We just have to find the right thing to do.

The Gift - We learn what a Drone would do to get back home & how honest they are :)

Drone - We got a glimpse of the possible Borg future & learn about the functions of the Maturation chamber

Dark Frontier, Part I - We know even the death of their Queen won't stop them.

Dark Frontier, Part II - We learn that the Borg can shoot, blindly  :)

Collective - We get to understand more about Borg kids & more functions of the Maturation chamber

Unimatrix Zero, Part I - We learn the Borg got their own other matters & not focussing on us alone

Unimatrix Zero, Part II - We got more glimpse & clues on how a Borg vessel functions from the inside

Endgame, Part I - We see they are still progressing, by creating a new Hub

Endgame, Part II - After this we'll see that even with the destruction of a Unimatrix, a Hub, & dozens of vessels. Won't stop the Borg.

When the next show shows about the Borg again. :)

IMHO, Voyager had made the Borg an astounishing great race to behold.

     :borgqueen:

    Yeeep.

Scorpion, Part I - We learn there's tons of vessels out there  & that the Collective can function at the Queen's absense:wow:

Scorpion, Part II - We learn there's a possible chance for peace with the Borg. We just have to find the right thing to do.

Yes, we did learn in this episode that the Borg have hundreds if not thousands of ships, but it was not stated wether or not the Queen was absent. My assumption, upon seeing this episode, was that the Queen must have somehow "survived" the events of FIRST CONTACT. My theory is that she sent a "copy" of herself back in time on that sphere, much like you might "copy" a Windows OS and load it onto a friend's computer.

The Gift - We learn what a Drone would do to get back home & how honest they are :)

Heck yeah, what an awesome episode! I loved how they gave both Seven and Kes an equal amount of screen time since they were introducing one character while the other leaves in the same story. I wouldn't call the Borg honest though, they just think they're so superior that they don't need to lie. :)

Drone - We got a glimpse of the possible Borg future & learn about the functions of the Maturation chamber

Yep, another great episode! I almost cried at the end though...

Dark Frontier, Part I - We know even the death of their Queen won't stop them.

Dark Frontier, Part II - We learn that the Borg can shoot, blindly  :b-day:

Well, I just assumed that the essense of the Queen continued within the collective with her upper body cloned and stored deep inside Unimatrix 01. When Seven arrived, the Queen had a body constructed so that she may interract with her. However, the Queen saying she's from Species 125 throws off the cloning theory and implies that the Queen chooses a female from a species whom resembles the original Borg species and "promotes" that female drone to become a host to the Queen consciencous.

Collective - We get to understand more about Borg kids & more functions of the Maturation chamber

Yeeep. OMG, remember when Harry was partially assimilated? :) That was freeky!

Unimatrix Zero, Part I - We learn the Borg got their own other matters & not focussing on us alone

Unimatrix Zero, Part II - We got more glimpse & clues on how a Borg vessel functions from the inside

Yeah, this is deffinately one of my favoite Borg episodes. :b-day: I also liked how the Doctor how devised a virus to protect Janeway, Tuvok, and B'Elanna from the Borg Collective consciencous so they would not have to deal with the traumatic experrience that Picard did as Locutus as well as retain their individuallity.

Endgame, Part I - We see they are still progressing, by creating a new Hub

Endgame, Part II - After this we'll see that even with the destruction of a Unimatrix, a Hub, & dozens of vessels. Won't stop the Borg.

Well, I thought the hub was supposed to be one of the "six" that Janeway says Seven had once mentioned to her. Some fans seem to think it's a seventh, new hub though. Yeah, in this episode, the transwarp hub was destroyed, several Borg vessels, and Unimatrix 01 - the heart of the Borg. The Borg can suffer just about anything, including the death of the Queen whom she herself can survive. However, with the destruction of Unimatrix 01, I'm wonderring if they'll recover any time soon or even if the Queen herself survived.

When the next show shows about the Borg again. :)

The next Borg episode is "Regeneration" from ENT's 2nd season, in case you missed it. It was a continuation of ST:FC in a way. Some think it brings the Borg full circle by explaining why the Borg became interrested in Humanity in the first place. The producers said that ST:FC "alterred" the timeline which probably leads to the NX-01 being called "Enterprise" to honor the people from the future who saved Earth and helped repair the Pheonix as well as leading to the episode "Regeneration". I believe the "reason" the Borg become interrested in Humanity changes from the result of a reconassiance mission to a 200-year-old Borg signal with Earth's coordinates.

IMHO, Voyager had made the Borg an astounishing great race to behold.

Agreed. I think the Borg were something that Trek should have explorred in detail, so I was very happy to see VOY do just that. However, I think that if the post "Endgame" Borg are seen again, they need to do something to "evolve" them and keep them fresh.

  13. During William Shatner's visit to Toronto last week, to promote Kellogg's All-Bran Challenge campaign, eTalk Daily learned that the former Starfleet captain has written a scenario for Kirk's return "for a show or two". Shatner hasn't yet presented his plot to TPTB, "because I don't know whether they're coming back". Shatner's comments suggest that Star Trek: Enterprise would be the vehicle of Kirk's comeback.

For details of the brief Q&A, which aired yesterday, click this link...

William Shatner on eTalk Daily (transcript & screen captures)

This Toronto Sun news article mentions some of Shatner's current and future projects, such as the sequel to Miss Congeniality, and an offer to headline a reality show next season.

    --------------

    "Buffy" meets "The Simpsons"

William Shatner is too old to play Captain Kirk and Kirk is dead. It's time to move on folks. I would be open to William Shatner playing one of Kirk's ancetors in ENT though.
