  1. I hope ent gets cancelled.

    Why? :P

Anti-Ent people never give reasons. All I have ever seen of them is quick little "Enterprise Sucks!" and "Throw the show in the can.". Never any reason why.

here is 3.reasons why Enterprise Sucks........

    1. It took Paramount THREE seasons to put the words STAR TREK before Enterprise, where they ashamed of it?

Rick Berman wanted to drop "Star Trek" from the 5th series title, figuring people should know if it's Trek or not by now. He wanted a name that says STAR TREK without saying it, thus we have ENTERPRISE. Personally, I liked the idea of tropping Trek from the title. It was the lame UPN suits who wanted the show changed to Star Trek: Enterprise to help the show... promoting it would be a better asset though. :o

    2. They have messed up the time line so bad,I dont think it will ever recover.Well we now know that it wasnt Picard that first seen the Ferengi it was Archer and his bunch of losers. Are we going to see the Romulan-Federation war or has that been conveniently forgotten.

The timeline has not been messed up. It was slightly alterred by ST:FC which lead to the NX-01 being called "Enterprise" and the episode "Regeneration", but not much else beyond that. As for the Ferengi, who said Picard was the first to see thm? No one did. Picard made official "first contact", but it was not said that he was the first to see them. Berman has talked about doing the "formation of the Federation" arc on the show, beginning it next season. So, seeing the Earth-Romulan war is likely. Also, you complain about continuity, yet you say the Romulan-Federation war, which never happened. :o

    3. Archer is so lame,he isnt a Captain at all Janeway has more ball's than he dose.Ever time he has a problem he gets someone else to sort it out or goes running to pet his dog. They need a stronger Captain, sorry but Archer sucks big time.......

Archer being lame is an opinion. Look at his rank pips. He is a Captain. I'm going to ignore your sexual remark. I've never seen him run to Porthos when in a bad situation. Which episodes are you referring to? As for running to others when in a situation, again, provide episode examples. Archer is not the best captain, I'll agree with you there, but he is the first. He doens't have previous captains nor experrience to fall back on.

........just becouse it has Star Trek in the name doesnt mean they can put out crap TV........but hey this is just MO

It's not crap TV. That's your opinion. I enjoy Enterprise a lot and it's one of my 2 favorite TV shows. :(

Yup i agree they sould cancel it..My reasons are most of what Spud said as well as on my own post

If they cancel ENT, you cay say goodbye to Trek. :)

  2. I am also a HUGE Farscape fan and i was wondering what u pple think of it,if u ever seen it that is,but im sure that there are some pple outthere who know the show :dude:

I've never seen it, but from what I've read, it appears to me that it has a lot of sexually implied in the stories and in the pictures I've seen. I hope I'm wrong though.

  3. I did a thread like this before, but couldn't find it, so I thought I might restart it with a different view.

Sure, it's easy to have TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, and then the movies. However, look at it in this light: Say you're an X-Files fan. You'd probably have the movie placed between seasons 5 & 6 since it bridges them together, right? Let's say you're an SG-1 fan. You would probably have the movie come before the TV show since the movie is the "original story", correct? Welp, if you would do another show with the movies placed with the TV show it relates to, why not do the same with the Trek movies? For example: You would have the TOS movies come after TOS since they use the characters, the ship, and so forth from TOS. The same would apply to the TNG movies. If they did a TNG/DS9/VOY movie, one could place it after VOY, since it involves characters from all 3 shows. If they did an ENT movie, it'd be placed with ENT. If they did a "new cast" movie, then you'd put it seperate since it doesn't relate to any of the existing shows.

Now, a lot of people may not care and find it easier to give the movies their own category, but I believe in organising TV shows and their movies in terms of the story. So, for me, it would be TOS, TOS movies, TNG, TNG movies, DS9, VOY, & ENT.

    What do you all think?

  4. Not an X-Files fan due to the many dark/demonic/freak/pyshic episodes they did, but I did follow the show for the "alien" arc and watched about 3/4 of the episodes each season. I'm considerring getting the first movie on DVD. I'll be looking forward to seeing Mulder & Scully on the big screen a second time, but I'll be dissapointed if we don't see Dogget and Reyes again. Perhaps Dogget and Reyes could reprise their roles in a mini-series or make cameos?

  5. Ok here it goes

    I hate Enterprise.

That makes your views biased. :P

Its boring and the characters are not likable and one dimentional.

That's a matter of opinion. I think ENT rocks, the characters are very likable, and I find them multi-dimensional.

I have a high standered for Star Trek(being spoiled on the Plot rich TNG and DS9 as well as Voyager).

    Me too!

I demand better quality special effects and stories.

Um... Are you aware the ENTERPRISE has the best special effects of any TV show on TV to date? :P As for the stories, I believe them to be high quallity.

Enterprise as well as the last two movies were boring and done before.

    1. When did they do a prequal before? :dude:

    2. I don't recall them doing a movie with a "fountain of youth" theme.

    3. Yes, NEMESIS uses ideas from previous Trek movies. However, I view NEM as a "best of" movie, using the best elements of previous movies for an all out action movie.

I can understand finding ENT borring in seasons 1 & 2. Have you seen season 3? I also understand how Insurrection can be borring since it's more of an intellectual story, but as for Nemesis... how is it borring? :P

Most fans are angry at what the franchise has become.

    Which is?

I have watched some episodes of Enterprise but the "TCW" is getting dated.RESOLVE it already!

Why is it getting dated? I think it's a magnificent mystery. Why resolve it already? I didn't see anyone screaming, "Resolve the Dominion war already!"

Enterprise has such potential. Now develop it.

    Agreed. They have.

Bickering between Paramount and Berman? Hahahahahaha! See above
I am glad you find my opinions AMUSING (as most people do) But its true.Berman has dropped the ball with the last two movies and Enterprise..

I believe he was laughing at the idea of Paramount and Berman bickerring when it's the fans who bicker. I do not believe Berman dropped the ball with movies 9&10 nor ENT, in fact, he's put a lot of effort into both movies and ENT.

You want proof? The last two movies failed at the box office and Enterprise is threatned with cancellation

This is becuase of the extreme "division" of fans. Take SUPERMAN for example. Each show or series of movies is a "different" vission of Superman, but it's always Superman. They aren't interconnected, so there's nothing to get into a fuss over. STAR TREK, however, is very interconnected. ENT doesn't fit into the preconcieved fan idea of how the 22nd century is, so they hate it. ST-9 wasn't action packed and had a lot of humor, so fans hated it. ST-10 had a lot of action and less humor, so fans hated it. Really, it seems fans cannot be please these days. :P

What would be next? Freshness. A newly aligned Alpha Quadrant which the very existence of proves again the lesson of Trek that all is not in vain; there is always a new reason to keep trying for a better future. A new stronger alliance than ever before ready to reach out to the non aligned sections of our galaxy and continue to do what has always been the motto, Explore.

Thats my exact point.Trek needs a revival somehow.Maybe if they put it on the shelf for 10 years they could go back to it and look at it with a fresh perspective.

Shelf Trek for 10 years? Why so long? Do you think they are incapable of thinking up new ideas so they need an entire decade to come up with something? I agree that a break is needed, but no more than 3 years. Enough time to create hunger in fans and non-fans as well as time to develope Series 6. I don't think Trek needs a revival. I think ENT needs to be sold to a network that will respect the show, something like the SCI-FI channel, FOX, the WB, a network like that. If they shop it on the WB, my fear would be that it becomes about "relationships" and very little sci-fi. Personally, I think that the franchise doesn't need an overall refit. TOS, TNG, DS9, & VOY all ended. All they need to do is shop ENT to a better network and come up with a new cast for the 11th movie, wether it be DS9, VOY, a mix of TNG-era characters, ENT, or a new cast.

  6. They are in Startrek and now I see them in Stargate.

I assume you mean the Trill symbionts from DS9.

    Any difference?

Yes. SG-1 has snake-like aliens called the Goa'uld who take people as hosts. The blended Trill host/symbiont relationship is a more antural one since they are both from the same planet. In SG-1, the Goa'uld enter the body forcably and wrap arround your upper spinal column, taking control of your brain, repressing your mind. In DS9, the worm-like symbiont enters a "pouch" on the belly of a Trill and blends with the host into a complete personallity.

    Same thing.

    Nope.

To anyone who watches both shows. :dude: Jedzia Dax was one, or had one, however you want to say it.

Jadzia Dax blended with a symbiont willfully.

    Then she was Ezra?

Well, Dax is the name of the symbiont, Jadzia was the name of the host. Jadzia was murderred by Dukat, but Dr. Bashir managed to save Dax. On the way back to Trill (also the home world), Dax's condition went critical. Ezri, a Trill member of the crew, was Dax's last hope, so Dax was implanted in Ezri's pouch. If the joining lasts more than a day or two, it becomes permanent till the host dies. Premature removal will kill the host after a few days. Ezri is the Dax host in season 7.

    Is that right?

Yes. Jadzia Dax, then Ezri Dax. Once joined, the name of the symbiont replaces the hosts last name. This is done so that the name represents both sides of the blended personallity.

Before them she was a man, name of ?

Before Dax found it's way to Jadzia, it was hosted by a man named Curzon Dax, a very close friend and mentor to Captain Sisko.

    Who was a muderer, correct?

No, that was an even earlier host.

Here's a link to StarTrek.com for more information on the Trill symbionts.

  7. OH, come on.  Weren't any of you paying attention.

    I did.

Of course the Borg queen was 7's mother.

    No she's not.

The Queen made reference to 7 to come back into the family.

That was a metaphor. The Queen was saying that the Borg Collective is Seven's family rather than her "new family" on Voyager.

    This was 7's uniqness.

The Queen's special interrest in Seven added her to her uniqness, correct.

If you recall the Science ship, the Hansen's with 7, Anika Hansen, when she was just a child, was assimilated.

Yep, we learned this in "The Raven" and "Dark Frontier".

Anika's mother is the same person who is now the queen, same head, anyway, same face.

Anika's mother is not the same species as the Queen. The Borg Queen seen in "Dark Frontier" is from species 125. Humans are species 5618, so this rules the Queen out as being Human. It's a different actress than that whom played Seven's mother.

  8. A friend recently make this claim-true or false? :picard-sith:

The Borg Queen from ST:FC is quite possibly the "original" Queen from the original species. The Queen in "Dark Frontier" is from species 125. The Queen seen in "Unimatrix Zero" and "Endgame" is yet another Queen, her species remains unkown. She is in no way Seven of Nine's mother. She is a mother figure to Seven in the Borg Collective, but she's not Seven's actual mother.

  9. At this point, I'm truelly hoping Berman & Braga stay in charge. If they pick a new guy, this "new guy" will probably turn Star Trek into a Star Wars clone, destroy continuity, and recast Kirk as a cadet. :picard-sith:

  10. Who would you like to see star in Star Trek XI?

Capitan Picard, Riker, Sisko, Archer, Admiral Janeway, or perhaps a new actor? I'd like to see Admiral Janeway as the lead of Trek 11. I can deal with not seeing a VOY movie since the ship did return to Earth in "Endgame", but I think Admiral Janeway, as a character, can stand out on her own and would make a good lead for a Trek movie. What do you guys think?

  11. Check this link out about a possible "prequal trilogy" for the Trek movies. I can honestly say that if this happens, Trek will be over for me. I'll enjoy the already made Trek and enjoy Stargate for my new weekly adventures. I'm not opposted to prequal, preferrably ENT, nor trilogy movies. It's the idea they present that I feel would kill Trek. Star Trek has first and formost always been character-driven for me. The day it becomes Star Wars-like is the day I move on. :picard-sith:

  12. I go to the gym a lot. I find it really fun. I love to run. Once it warms up I am going to start running outside more and I always bike a lot in the summer.

You'd get along great with my friend Roger. :picard-sith: What kind of bike do you have?

  13. When is this supposed to be happening?

Stargate - 1996 (released in 1994, but SG-1 implies it happened in '96)

    Stargate SG-1 - Season 1 - 1997-98

    Stargate SG-1 - Season 2 - 1998-99

    Stargate SG-1 - Season 3 - 1999-00

    Stargate SG-1 - Season 4 - 2000-01

    Stargate SG-1 - Season 5 - 2001-02

    Stargate SG-1 - Season 6 - 2002-03

    Stargate SG-1 - Season 7 - 2003-04

How does the Stargate apperture connect with space?

It doesn't. It creates an aritifical wormhole to another Stargate on another planet. The Stargate must be on a planet or in orbit in order to function. It uses star constellations to lock onto other Stargates.

Who is the guy with the circle on his forehead.

I believe you are referring to Apophis, one of the Goa'uld system lords who has borrowed ancient Egyptian religion to enslave transplanted Humans. I just realised you're talking about one of the series regulars - Teal'c. The symbol on his forehead is that of Apophis. In the premiere episode, Teal'c defects and joins SG-1 to fight the Goa'uld AKA "false gods".

Are his people from another place, not Earth?

His species originated on another planet, but the people he enslaves are originally from Earth. They're transplanted Humans, and he's not the only Goa'uld who does this. In fact, he's just one of many.

What's going on concerning the Simbiot?

The Goa'uld take Humans as hosts, forcibly. The Tok'ra, rebel Goa'uld, only take willing hosts.

Does that have anything to do with the woman who died and was burned?

    Who? :frusty:

Who is behind this whole wormhole thing?  The U.S. Government?

The Ancients built the Stargates, but the U.S. Air Force runs a base called Stargate Command which houses Earth's Stargate.

I hope we can have an exchange of information in this thread, without insults. Friends? :picard-sith:

    Sure! :force:

  14. Any more opinions here?  :P

I could post mine again to make you feel better. :o Seriously though... the reason why I didn't like Babylon 5 was becuase it felt too sci-fi and I couldn't really identify with the characters like I can with those from Trek. SG-1, on the other hand, is set in the present which makes the characters believable and the situations much easier to grasp, becuase you can picture yourself in them. :o
