Madame Butterfly 0 Posted April 25, 2005 My brothers gave me a concusion when they were teaching me how to play ball by hitting me in the head with the bat. I play competitive softball. Though it took me years to play catcher, which was the position I was playing when I got nailed with the bat.
Angela 1 Posted April 25, 2005 One could say that the bat inccident taught you not to go for that position.
Madame Butterfly 0 Posted April 25, 2005 Quote of the Day: One should examine oneself for a very long time before thinking of condemning others. ~Moliere Spring decided to return today. :) The flu seems to be making it's way out of the house, though I am sleeping for nearly 12 hours nightly. I like to sleep when under the weather. One could say that the bat inccident taught you not to go for that position Well the catcher kneels directly behind the plate in which you bat at, so no, I don't think so UA!! If anything it made me more determined to be the best catcher I could be.
Angela 1 Posted April 25, 2005 Of course bats don't teach us women no sense at all.
Madame Butterfly 0 Posted April 25, 2005 Are you insulting me UA?
Angela 1 Posted April 25, 2005 No, just thinking semi-metaphorically, Think aout it, we get hit in the face, us girls get up and get tenacious and keep going, irrespective of weather what ever it was that smacked us in the face (this can be metaphorical) taught us (either that what we were doing was bad, or good) Maybe I am wrong. But its just something I have seen.
Madame Butterfly 0 Posted April 25, 2005 Actually, I'm quite proud of the fact that I got knocked down, had a huge knot on my head from the hit, and then I soon came back to try again. It didn't keep me down. I feel like I mastered that situation.
Angela 1 Posted April 25, 2005 good point I tend to get real hard headed, and bull headed. Must temper that.
Madame Butterfly 0 Posted April 25, 2005 Oh believe me, I'm very stubborn. But there are somethings, some situations, that if you are stubborn about, they actually master you.

Besides, my sister and I grew up playing softball all the way from grade school to high school. I wasn't a math major, nor was she. By your logic, we should be better at math. Madame Butterfly 0 Posted April 26, 2005 Quote of the Day: They are the weakest, however strong, who have no faith in themselves or their own powers. ~Christian Bovee Having an OK day.
Angela 1 Posted April 26, 2005 Chi, you made and inference, by saying most boys the inference is that girls aren't as good, and because the subject you are talking about is baseball, you made the inference that if girls played baseball, like most boys do, girls would equal the boys. Madame Butterfly 0 Posted April 27, 2005 Oh I heard you. Do you have memory issues when your don't medicate regularly? swear. the statistics of baseball help us with probablility. that's why boys are mostly better at math. You're statement implies that because boys watch or play baseball, they are better at math. Now that's just ridiculous. That's like saying that because girls like to play kitchen as toddlers, we are predisposed to be better cooks.
