  2. The Vissians were awful. Just because they have pretty, sparkling technology as opposed to the Tandarans doesn't make what they did any less reprehensible. :D That episode still resonates emotionally for me.

As for Trip, we shall see what happens, won't we?  :D I doubt he'll go quite so far as to bomb the Xindi homeworld without Starfleet permission.  That would be a line he couldn't cross back over. He's Trip, not George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld's evil spawn.:wow:  :wow:  Gack.

the vissians werent awful people, the third person is how they procreate, not a sex slave or anythnig like that. it was society that made the very, very minority cogenitor the way it was. they werent being cruel or anything like that. its not something we as humans would do, but this was a different species, and different ways. going off into space meeting new aliens, we need to keep an open mind with others traditions, and ways, or at the very least just keep the negatives to ourselves. im sure we do many things that other races would find apalling as well. as for bush and rumsfeld, they arent bad people, and the war with iraq was necessary.

  3. (she hates B4, and the ending of the movie...and because of these reasons...she refused to see Nemesis in the theater!)

ok i give, so how did she now about b4 and the ending, if she didnt go see it in the movies?

She and I once argued about who she saw in the trailer...she kept saying that she saw Lore and I informed her no, she saw B4...and I had to explain him to her... She really didn't like what she heard, and as for the ending...I am surpised that everyone around me didn't know how the movie ended-since I was devastated after I saw the movie(she knew immediately, I mean she knew from reading that someone was going to die in Nemesis..and she could immediately guess by my reaction who did in fact die. After all Data is my favorite person, wait everyone already knows that)

so i take it shes a big data fan too. so why didnt she like b4 whats wrong with the idea of another data lookalike?

  4. ive got a question for you people. we first seen the andorians in TOS, then we now have seen them a couple of times in ENT. the question is, seeing how they were obviously in closer proximity to earth, why did we never see them in TNG, or DS9? did they just vanish or what? well i wonder if any of you know the answer.

  5. first, how do you know theyre coming to investigate, rather, than scouting. there has been no new shows of any voy, tng, ds9 to see this happening, your going on an asumption arent you? in regeneration they only said MAYBE THE MESSAGE GOT OUT. meaning maybe it didnt. now say it did, how do you know the cube the hansens found was not there because of a message. theres nothing to say they werent already investigating rather than scouting. anyway i tend to agree with alterego, its a show, for entertainment, watch it for that, and assume that it all works out right, the way it was supposed to.

  6. i liked jakes character, whenever he and nog were starting trouble was pretty interesting sometime. i think his character added to the show, at least to getting to know sisko better. all in all he was a good character to have, IMHO.

  7. is this the second episode next wednesday? sounds pretty good. cant wait to see it. hey i see you metioned birds of prey in your post, you wouldnt happen to know what happened to it do you? it was a good show, now "poof" its gone, i liked it and want to see it back. oh well long live enterprise. if they take that off the air prematurely im gonna just die.

  8. your so right, we must never forget such times. we need to remember our history to hopefully learn from the mistakes of ours, and others. though im not one myself, i have many veterans in my family and appreciate what all vets have done, and active soldiers are doing today, for us, and our freedoms.

  9. I think the reason why the Borg...

    Click for Spoiler:

...couldn't adapt so easilly was becuase they were using phase pistols, a primive technology.  It's possible that the Borg never assimilated that technology, thus it was difficult to adapt.

Oh, I believe this episode created a temporal paradox.  However, if you have a basic grasp of time travel, then you should be able to follow me as I explain a possible sollution.

    Click for Spoiler:

A - 2364, Borg start assimilating colonies in the Federation/Romulan Neutral Zone.

B - 2366, Borg invasion of the Federation.

C - 2373, 2nd Borg invasion of the Federation.  This time, when the cube is destroyed, a sphere is sent back into the past, followed by the Enterprise-E.

D - 2063 - Borg Sphere & Enterprise-E appear from the future.  Sphere attacks the Phoenix complex, but the Enterrpise-E blows up the sphere.  Temporal damage is mostly repaired, and the Enterprise-E returns to 2373.

C - 2152 (or '53?), wreckage apprantly reigned down on Earth's artic circle.  Some how, drones survived the atmospheric entry and impact.  Perhaps they were thrown from the wreckage as it hit?  Anyway.  At the end of this catastrophe, the Enterprise defeats the Borg transport, but not before a transmission is sent to the Borg in the Delta Quadrant, which is recieved in the mid-24th century.

This now lead's us back to A.  Had the Borg not gone back in time in ST:FC, the Federation would never encounterred the Borg.  At least, not for another century or so.

Here's my explanation.  Let me know if it doesn't make sense.

In the original timeline, for whatever reason, the Borg send a cube to the Alpha Quadrant on a recon mission durring the mid-24th century.  This leads to the Hansens being assimilated and first contact in TNG's "Q Who?"  Then, after the events of ST:FC, the reason for the Borg recon in the Alpha Quadrant changes from "looking for something to assimilate" to "responding to a 200-year-old message about humanity".

So, does that sound like a plausable way to solve this paradox?

    Click for Spoiler:

you've gotta remember one thing, they said, that MAYBE the message got out, then again MAYBE not, so that means that theres probably not gonna be any affect on the timeline. not that we'll ever really know what happens.

  10. (she hates B4, and the ending of the movie...and because of these reasons...she refused to see Nemesis in the theater!)

ok i give, so how did she kow about b4 and the ending, if she didnt go see it in the movies? :o

  11. this was an excellent episode, cant wait till sunday to watch it again. so now did i miss something again, i went to the chat room, STARTREKFANS.NET and no one was there. well anyway loved the epi, wasnt disapointed in how they could defeat such a POWERFUL enemy considering if it took them any longer they probably wouldnt have been able too.

the only real complaint i have, if you can call it that, is how fast tripp learned enough about their technology to disable it as quick as he did. but thats it. its about dang time they use the transporter.

  12. im an october child too, the 25th so what day is your ddillard. uhurariker, i know it aint really old, but, lets see, the last two years or more, ive been working with a sore, sprained back, crushed my hand, and numerous other thing, im feeling much older than i really am. starting to feel better now that ive been off since feb. therapys straightened out my back, and im trying to get back into better shape again, but still feeling old. oh well. :(

  13. i would have to say similar only in the way that while their in the great link, they can hear, and feel eachothers thoughts, but they still have individual thoughts. then after leaving the link, they feel seperated, no longer hearing the thoughts of the others. but the borg are permantly linked, and also have no individual thoughts or ideas, or even function on their own. so IMHO the link is similar, yet quite different. :(

  14. WOW this episode sure did spark a lot of controversy, eh. well its good to talk about.

TRIPP was wrong, ARCHER was right, and ARCHER is learning, thats what happens when what your doing has never been done before by anyone on your planet.
