  1. I'll agree that Enterprise's A,D,and NX-01 are great....Can't say I care much for E....but this little lady will always own this Trek fan's heart :P

  2. Broken Bow was the first episode I watched, though not the episode that hooked me and reeled me into Enterprise.I'm not sure any single episode managed that.It was a combination of many things over the course of the first 2 seasons that kept me coming back for new episodes.

  3. AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

    :P

What's going on?The Sox should've won that game! Now the series has to go back to New York..... :o

    Damn.

You see? This is why I have no illusions as to who is going to win the ALCS.The Bosox just cannot win the games that count. Its the CURSE of the Babe in full effect....(creepy twilight zone music) :o

  4. Elizabeth Hurley. The flat out, most beautiful woman in this or any other universe! :P

    I changed my mind.....

I just saw Catherine Zeta-Jones on an commercial, and she is gorgeous! She's from Wales,I think...that's part of the United Kingdom,so she qualifies for this pole.

    Sorry,Liz....I have a new love :o

  5. Can anybody tell me what Starfleet eventually did to Erika Benteen, the Captain of the USS Lakota and Admiral Leighton's partner-in-crime?Sure,in the end she refused to destroy the Defiant, but she knowingly framed Benjamin Sisko with a staged bloodtest, and knew Leighton planned to overthrow the legitimate government on Earth. So,was she courtmartialed?Jailed?Given a time-out?

I can't remember ever hearing anything about her eventual end on DS9.

  6. He looks sexy either way :b-day:  but I prefer a man with a hairy chest myself. Actually, I wonder why he would do it right now when his (delectable) hairy chest has been on display so many times, including the first massage scene with T'Pol.

Glad to see we men with hairy chests are still appreciated.I saw a poll on HBO a few years ago that showed that American and Canadian women preferred smooth-chested men, while women from Europe were divided.with northern Europeans preferring hairy chests, and western europeans preferring the smooth, hairless look.Japanese women (and most asian women in general)also liked hairy chests.

I thought that was interesting. ;)

  7. That's one of the problems that needs working on.I don't feel as emotional attached to Enterprise's main characters as I did to the characters of the previous series, even Voyager...which I didn't like all that much, but still regularly watched.

  8. I'll bet the people polled know nothing about the sport of professional wrestling at all!I hate people who condemn Pro Wrestling without knowing a thing about it,and who only spout off biased opinions against the sport that they have picked up from reading columns by sports writers or parent's groups that just don't get it!

Professional wrestlers are dedicated athletes who put on a great show, and whose only reward for a lifetime of entertaining their fans is usually broken bodies, addiction to painkillers, and retirement on a fixed income.

Regardless of whether or not the matches are "real"(I hate that term as its applied to pro wrestling),these men and women get hurt, sometimes badly...take Owen Hart for instance,a tremendously talented athlete from Canada. He died in the ring after a fall from the rafters of an arena in Kansas City,Mo.I can't tell you how many wrestlers have died from drug abuse.

The typical wrestler in the WWE (the premier company in the industry)must wrestle and be on the road more than 300 days per year. There is no union to guarantee these wrestlers are treated fairly. For the thousands of wrestlers who are employed by various small-time "independent" promotions, life is worse. They are often paid little (sometimes not at all),and must work multiple shows a night, whether or not they are injured (since refusing means they can be fired on the spot, and most certainly will not be paid)....

I could go on and on,but I won't.When it comes to wrestling I tend to rant ;)

Professional Wrestling is my favorite "sport".

I agree with you,Captain Redneck (nice avatar..."Hotstuff" Eddie Gilbert, isn't it?One of my favorite wrestlers).Ours is an underappreciated much maligned form of sports entertainment. :b-day:

  9. it wouldn't really be folding but the current collective bargaining agreement of the NHL expires at the end of this year, so there could be a work stoppage, like the one MLB avoided last year. If it drags on maybe a chance of folding, but very very slim. I have a feeling that they will manage to get something done, I mean if baseball could do it, anyone can.

Major League Baseball has a much larger fan base and makes much, much more money though,so I'm not certain a work stoppage wouldn't hurt the NHL worse than it did MLB.I don't believe the NHL will fold, but you never know. ;)

  10. I don't have the patience to build models.I once bought the model of the USS Saratoga at a Kmart, but ended up mailing it to admiralpeewee, once I saw how many parts there were, etc. He put it together and even managed to add little interior lights and such.He did an awesome job,and still has it on display I think.

  11. If I was ever seriously ill and needed life-saving medical treatment, then I would want Beverly Crusher around. Not that the other Trek MD's aren't great. Its just that I think Crusher is the best of them, and not as likely to say,"Jim,He's dead" as McCoy....not that she would say "Jim",er,you know what I mean ;)

My second pick would be Bashir.

  12. I think the big word here in this discussion is "tolerance". Tolerance is not "acceptance". I can be very tolerant of someone as to their beliefs and practices and yet not accept their beliefs and practices. This is the kind of world I think Roddenberry envisioned. Not one where there is no longer religion. Where all forms of sexual immorality is the norm. Where political differences no longer exist etc. No! The future will continue to be more diverse and not less so so the only answer is "tolerance". That's just my opinion! ;)

    Ktrek

Yeah, what ktrek said.I would only add that my 'tolerance' only extends to those who are tolerant of my personal beliefs, etc. If somebody starts stepping on my toes, then I can become the most intolerant SOB on this or any other planet.

  13. The worst,a Betazoid....always prying into your private thoughts and capable of viewing your dreams as easily as you might watch television. This is especially bad if my roomie is a female betazoid ;)

The best roomie would be a Bajoran. They tend to be so laid back,we could burn that incense, philosophize about the meaning of life and the prophets and smoke a few doobies! :b-day:
