  1. I'm not sure reuniting all the series is believable. Sisko seemed way out of place. DS9 doesn't belong with the crews of any of the Enterprises. As for the Captain's of 3 different Enterprises from 3 different era's all meeting.... that also seems unbelievable. It's unbelievable enough that Picard has met McCoy, Spock, Scotty and Kirk. The odds of all that alone are immense.

But they should bring back Kirk. He is a legend, and like they say, legends should not die.

If it was done right it could be the best Star Trek movie out there.

I watched the Bring Back Kirk Trailer. It was entertaining, but there were mistake and it was way to silly. They brought Kirk out of the Nexus. Guinan said that couldn't be done because once you leave the first time, all that remains is an impression. But there are other ways to bring him back. I wasn't impressed by them trying to put a freaking holographic rip off of Mc Coy in there either. That fabulous actor has passed on. Don't disgrace his memory with a cheesy thing like that. But if all this cheesy junk wasn't part of it, I would be, like I said, for bringing back Kirk in some way. Either way however, I don't really care.

I noticed that the people who came up with this idea think it is necessary for the salvation of Star Trek. Are they stupid? Why do they think that they have any better understanding of what needs to be done than the very man the Gene entrusted his creation to. Bringing back Kirk, if anything, would be nothing but a temporary bandage for the people who can't enjoy Star Trek for what it is anymore. They would again lose interest after the proposed movie finishes.

  2. Archer has demonstrated that he has very good flying capabilities in the past. Flying is something he did before becoming a captain. So in that respect he made the right decision. Also, Trip and T'Pol have proven themselves to be just as capable as Archer. If I were Archer I would trust the mission to them. T'Pol has more space experince than Archer, and Trip has almost the same amount. Archer made the right decision. He decided that he would not order anyone else to die. I respect that. And I don't think it endangered the mission. As for being caught and tortured, I think Archer knows his abilities: that he would never give the Xindi information that could result in the destruction of the entire human race. He is too strong to allow that.

  3. I'm pretty sure anti-matter reactions produce particles moving off with a velocity of 1/3 the speed of light (3.33 sublight) and so the average antimatter rocket should be able to accelerate to 2/3 the speed of light (6.66 sublight) effeciently.

The exhaust particles might travel at 1/3rd the speed of light, but a rocked itself is much more massive... but after prolonged acceleration I suppose it could get up to 2/3's the speed of light. From there, however, the variable gamma will start getting large, thus, making it very hard from the rocket to accelerate much more.

  4. A jargon? Jargon are the words that a specifc group of people use... for example, police officers might use the term B&E rather than a burglary (P.S. those two are actually different things) If it is just jargon then there would have to be more technical names for each "sub species"... ie: the names of the species themselves

  5. but evolution states that we IMPROVE but the universe does not. Eventually it is agreed by both parties that the universe will eventually run out of usable energy. This is contratry to evolution.

It is NOT contrary to evolution. When the universe runs out of useable energy, we will no longer be able to live. If there are no organisms that are living, none can reproduce, and if none can reproduce, then evolution cannot occur CONTINUE to occur. This means that if the universe runs out of useable energy due to entropy (which it will unless something beyond our understanding restores the useable energy) then evolution will stop. Nobody ever said that evolution can never stop occuring. Nobody ever said that live will never end. Evolution can only occur when there is useable energy because evolution depends on life which depends on useable energy. I cannot make this simpler. If you don't get it now then I shall stop trying. Evolution (if the theory is true) occurs now because for the MOMENT there is useable energy.

  6. They have stopped numbering everything. They don't # TNG anymore, not DS9, not VOY and not even ENT. The only reason I don't like it is because I don't know how many books there really are. It was neat to know that. But not having the numbers doesn't really bother me.

  7. Glowing green text is just a bit too much! And so is this computer monitor as school. It's awful. Everything is super bright. My monitor at home won't even show so much contrast. I can see way to much detail with these school monitors. I can see every little pixel in the starfield of the background. Some colors are supposed to blend in with the black so that the eye cannot discern them.... gah... I hate this monitor. It isn't just glows that hurt your eyes on this thing... it's everything. At home it's all nice and peachy tho.

  8. Soon he will be dead... how strange will that be?

    Such nice sentiments.

It's true dang it! The guys probably 79 or something. That's the average age for a male in the states. In the book of Star Trek Generations he knew he'd always die alone (without Spock or McCoy) so I guess Spock will be first to go before Shatner. Too bad for McCoy though. I wish he lived longer, he was such a fine actor in my book.

  9. Design is a matter of personal taste. As times change taste changes. Thus we have fads. Fads are tastes that exist for a short time and never regain popularity. Trends are styles the re occur (V neck shirts were popular, then unpopular, they came back, and now there are going away again) The same would apply to starship design. Perhaps the Ent-J shares simliarities with the Ent-D because that is the style at that time in the 26th century. As for your comment about the 29th century: even if the Ent-J was from that time (which it isn't) we don't know if it would be a timeship and we don't know if all timeships are super sleek. Perhaps there are several styles. Perhaps in the 29th Starfleet still uses standard saucer and nacell ships as well. Nobody ever said they didn't have just time ships... maybe they have starships as well! Open you mind man! Also, what we saw of the End-J was limited. We can't say what it truly looks like because what we saw was just a 2-D funny colored monitor shot of it. It might have crazy funky colors and might be longer that percieved by that screen shot.

  10. Sweet, it seems I wont be losing my beloved glow... oh is my text white.... I should so something about that.....

gggggllllllllllllllooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwglow, glow ,glow, glow, glow, glow GLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Okay, this issue was mentioned to me recently. As a result I switched from blue glow to navy glow. Because it is darker it blends with the black background better and is easier on the eyes. The navy glow I use is how I make my posts unique. Does this glow bother you as well or do you find this one tolerable?

  12. According to the paragraph and link below, because a subspecies is subordinate to a species, (a furthur grouping of a species) a group of one subspecies must be able to mate with another subspecies. I do not see how any of the Xindi subspecies is similar enough to breed. Can you imagine a Xindi-Humanoid producing offspring with a Xindi-Aquatic? I can't. What would it's child look like? Would it swim? Would it walk? There is no way that a Xindi-Humanoid-Aquatic child could be viable. Therfore, the Xindi subspecies are not subspecies but, are instead, distinct species. What do you think about that?

A species is a set of actually or potentially interbreeding organisms. Note that the distinction between a species and a subspecies depends only on the likelihood that (absent external barriers) the two populations would merge back into a single, genetically unified population. It has nothing to do with 'how different' the two groups appear to be to the human observer. Click here to read about subspecies

  13. You know, I'm rather amused by this! And no, I was never offended. It's pretty hard to offend someone with a name like "personl jesus" who doesn't even belong to any religion! I wouldn't have been offended even with the satan like images. Anywho, hope that paper gets a good grade... and I, like Nemesis, wouldn't mind readin' it.

  14. It annoys me at times but I understand that it is necessary. Once I decided to head to the new members and crew promotions sections to give people my congratulations but I had to wait between each one (I decided to do it all at once to save time) and discovered the flood control. So I stopped and I rarely gives such congrats any more. It would be nice if in those sections it could be turned off... and/or allow people to most immediately only if they are posting under a new topic.

  15. Enterprise: I love it; it is my favorite show

Stargate SG-1: Just started watching it a little more than a month ago and I love it as well. I love it as well, but it isn't Star Trek. But it's nice to watch something other than Star Trek for a change.

Andromeda: Does anyone watch that? I saw one episode and didn't find myself impressed. I'm rarely impressed by other spaceship shows. Kevin Sobo is terrible.

Farscape: That should be on here! It, unlike Andromeda, is unique and worth watching.

  16. There is a very easy way to make sure those games don't annoy you. Don't play them. For the rest of us who enjoy them, let us enjoy them.

Yes, that's true, if one doesn't like them they should play them. But just now I kind of noticed something else. I've been waiting for a reply to an interesting topic. And for some reason nobody has anything to say. I kept refreshing the home page and watching the recent posts section and the name games were flooding it. This means that people are just playing name games and not taking the time to actually talk about something. I come to this site to have meaningful conversations and now it's starting to seem like nobody is talking about anything... just posting in name games. Earlier I was wondering if it was fair to say that the name games should be deleted because some people like them, and it isn't fair to take away something people like. But now, I think that the name games are taking away from something I like: conversation. So while I think you should be able to enjoy them, I think at the same time, the quality of converation should be brought back! If people who played the name games made as many posts as they would if they didn't spend time playing them I wouldn't really mind that name games are played, but I really doubt that is the case. Time is limited in our days, and the time people are spending on name games must be subtracting time from posts with actual writting and conversation.

  17. I think there was a slight screw-up with the interiors, specifically the mess hall. The Bellerophon had a galley like Voyager because they used the Voyager set but originally Voyager had a wall of replicators where the galley went in.

Of course, maybe they decided to include a galley in later

I'm pretty sure the galley was always there, but that it was the Captain's private dining space and not considered a galley. Neelix just decided to add in some heating elements and make it a cooking area. There were more replicators yes, but I believe they were on the wall between the door and the Captain's dining room/galley.

  18. How many Mirror episodes are there? One in TOS and maybe 3 or 4 in DS9? I don't believe that a forum for only 5 episodes, a book or two that most us wouldn't have read. and 1 videogame that, once again many of us have not played, would get any use whatsoever. Maybe we should make a Q forum for all those Q episodes? Or how about a... ugh, my sarcasm could go on forever. I know that may have come off as insulting (I hope it didn't) but that is just the way I feel about the idea. I do love the mirror episodes however. If were to make a forum for a particular form of episode I think the only one that would get good use would be a time travel forum. Time travel has been done to a large degree in all of the series and in 2 of the movies. Time travel episodes are also easy to argue about with all their incosistencies and confusing temporal mechanics. But still, I wouldn't ever expect to see such a forum. That's my piece.

  19. Yeah, there is something I've always wondered about that ship. Does it have the same registry number as Voyager written on the hull? I tried to zero in on it with my VCR but I couldn't tell for sure, but it really looked like it might be the same one. Perhaps they just used the same graphics model as Voyager and just lowered the ambient lighting (notice how the shot is so dark) and kept the ship far away so that it wouldn't be obvious. So, you're just noticing that an Interpid was on DS9 now? I thought you were supposed to know everything about DS9... that's the word on the cyber street anyhow.
