  1. Okay, there are many valid points here, but let's not overlook the effects of the drugs or other circumstances. For example:

    1. The Trellium caused T'Pol to feel emotion. Vulcan's naturally have emotions within them, but they supress them. The Trellium interfered with the suppression, thus making T'Pol revert to a NATURAL emotional state. So, while the Trellium could be considered a "drug", it may not necessarily be a bad thing. T'Pol has the RIGHT to experience emotions if she wishes, because doing so is NOT illegal!

    2. Her first contact with the substance was NOT by choice, which may have caused a mild addiction, thus, perhaps she could not help herself from experimenting futher with the substance.

So, as you can see from the above 2 points, there are MITIGATING CIRCUMSTANCES, which lower the degree of fault and wrongdoing for her actions.

As for the Doctor, he did not relieve her for 2 reasons:

    1. He had an oath

    2. He could not break that oath because, technically, the effects of the drug did not impair T'Pol, they merely gave her emotions. However, long term use would have led to impairment.

As you may have noticed, the Doctor's orders were to get T'Pol off the drugs. His goal was PREVENTATIVE treatment for the possibility of long term effects.

Now, I don't think T'Pol chose the right time to experiment (although I did mention that the circumstances prevented her from having complete control of her will) but I do think she deserves SOME punishment to set an example. The dire situation with the Xindi was so serious that this cannot be excused, but we MUST take into consideration the MITIGATING circumstances facing T'Pol, because feeling emotions is NOT wrong, and CANNOT be used to relieve someone of command unless they've gone BONKERS. T'Pol was very emotional, but not insane... she was still CAPABLE. Perhap's people died, but that isn't necessarily because she under an influence. To determine that, an inquiry would need to be held. It is a reality that people in command LOSE officers. Considering the cirumstances Enterprise was in, it's not hard to imagine that EVEN ARCHER COULD HAVE LOST THOSE CREW MEMEBERS TOO! Heck, even PICARD has lost COUNTLESS crew members lives!

  2. Yes, UH, I did notice most of the same things you did. And also they were all on square outlines, like a tv screen. I've always wondered what a time-line looked like. I tried to write parallel timelines in one of my stories. So I have thought about this visual concept before. In mine two ships skipped in and out of two, parallel, looking for irregularities. This was neat to actually see what they could come up with, on the show last night I mean. Since "Timeline" is a concept, not something we can actually see. I think they put a whole new twist on this by showing one.

    273144[/snapback]

I don't think they were in an ACTUAL timeline. I think what we saw was some kind of computer generated holographic display of the timeline. Surely, Daniels would need something of that sort to do his business.

  3. Alright ladies and gentlemen, and various aliens, this is the moment that we finally get to wrap up the season opener - and probably the TCW. It seemed a few out there were somewhat disappointed with the first part, but this one has gotta be seen in whole. so DON'T MISS PART 2. After all, who doesn't want to see some resolution for the crew. I can't wait to see what Silik's plan was... and how he even got there too! Don't forget to voice your thoughts!!! Now, go watch Storm Front part deux!

YOWZA! Part I didn't impress; part II blew my mind! I can sum this episode up with one word: RESOLUTION!

Now, we know Silik was an ENEMY, but of course he was still a "gray" one.

Now, we know that the TCW is at it's ENDS

Now, we that Daniel's was TRULY on the goodside

Now, we know that the first 3 season's have finally reached the end of their arc!

And we know that can only mean one thing: the show moving on to more "prequel"-ish things

So what did I think of the episode on a whole? Fantastic - the action was great, the special effects over New York were amazing, except for the explosion of the facility itself, the resolution to the TCW and all things related were perfectly done. It was great to see Archer tell Daniel's so sternly that he's done with the time travel stuff and to finally see Silik come to and deathly end, even if I did like him and Daniels.

One thing I have to mention, was the beggining of Part II. The propaganda video was extrememly shocking. To see America welcoming the Nazi's with almost open arms was terrifying. I thought that was a nice, yet horrible, touch. Also, I think it helped create anticipation for the episode. I think it was interesting to see the similarity between the Nazi mentality, and Vosk's mentality. Both were interested in total domination. (Nazi's wanted the Earth for the German's, and Vosk wanted TIME for his people) The difference is merely in the scale.

In conclusion, Startrek.com states that this episode is a "startling conclusion". They was a very accurate thing to say! Goodbye beloved Daniels, Silik, the TCW, and the Xindi... hello new stuff!

  4. For all we know, maybe at this point in time NX is in fact a class! Remember, from Archer's standpoint, there are NO OTHER CLASSES of ships! They can't say, "Hey, in the future NX stands for experimental, so we can't call that the class of our ship now", because they don't KNOW the future.

So why then would NX mean "experimental" in the future? It could be an homage to the class of the first deep space experimental ship - the Enterprise NX-01!

See how simple that was!!!! Why don't people see that everything that "contradicts" other treks in Enterprise DOESN'T contradict. Put your mind to it!

IT IS ALL EXPLAINABLE! FROM THE BORG, TO THE FERENGI, TO THE EXPANSE NEVER BEING IN THE FUTURE, TO THE SULIBAN NEVER BEING SEEN, TO THE NX CLASS STUFF, TO ANYTHING ELSE! IT IS ALL EXPLAINABLE!!! OPEN YOUR MINDS!

  5. I have a few comments to make about 2 of Alterego's comments regarding Silik and Daniels!

    Click For Spoiler
Hasn't Daniels died before? Somehow I doubt we've seen the last of him... again. I suspect his 'death' was a ruse...

Silik keeps saving people/Ent, Future Guy (his boss) must be working to preserve the timeline we know...

    HERE ARE MY COMMENTS!
    Click For Spoiler
Daniel's did die, but we was killed by an energy weapon. This time, he died due to TEMPORAL changes to his body. Because they are temporal, I think it means that he can't come back due to some weird temporal loop hole like the last time. And I really wish they would explain how he came back the first time in full!

As for Silik, I think he works by "contract". In other words, he does what future guy wants. As well all know, adjusting a timeline is a tricky thing. Changing something in the past doesn't always work out as intended. Maybe future guy wanted Earth wiped out, but then realized that wasn't the optimal way to acheive dominance for his species in the future. Chances are, future guy realized that the Federation was key to preventing the transdimensional beings from the Xindi arc from transforming space. And without the Federation, Futureguy's species would be wiped out too. So now, perhaps, he is trying to tweak the timeline in a different manner. Hmmm, that actually makes more sense that I thought it would. It explains alot, assuming of course, it is the right explanation.[/spolier]

  6. It wouldn't make all that much sense if that was the Nazi alien's plan. Because, he would have to COME UP with the plan! How would he know that saving some random women would make a difference in the timeline. He couldn't. Kirk only found out by accident. However, I do find the whole idea totally fun! That kind of tie in would be great, but it don't think it quite jives.

  7. Good evening fellow Enterprise watchers! For those of you who are new to Startrekfans since the end of the explosive and well recieved third season of Enterprise, I am Captain Bolivar (my name in real life!) and like last year I will be setting up polls for each episode of Enterprise so that, after the show, you can tells us what you thought of it on a scale of 1 to 10 and post your thoughts of the show. You ARE the critic. It's fun, trust me! So now that you know what the deal is, all you have to do is watch the show, then get busy at writting your review for us right here!

For those who are familiar with my polls. I hope you're glad to see me return for them. I know I am! I'm betting you thought I'd skip out due to my complete lack of posting these days. Well, I wouldn't be a good captain if I didn't tend to my responsibilities now would I?

It was a good episode. But it was not groudbreaking. It didn't really tell us much more about the TCW. We found out that the alien is trying to change the timeline for his purposes. Wow, that's what we knew the first time we saw him.

Now that I've dispensed with that piece of critisim, I want to point out that this episode, like VBG says below, should have been shown ALL at once. Because the first part was mostly introductory to the situation. It's the second part where we get to the good stuff: answers. For this reason, I'm dissipointed with the first half. In a sense, these episodes should be rated as a single episode, but I'm not about to take that route because one never knows how long an arc might run.

So tonight, I think I'll throw the episode a 7. I enjoyed it, but wont be able to appreciate it until I see the next half. Or so I believe. Chances are I'll rate the second half much higher.

The episode had a few high points worth mentioning.

    1. I am glad to see the return of Silik. Now I know the first 2 years of Enterprise were not a waste of story!

    2. The thing with Daniels was very cool, but even for me, his talk of the time travel conduits and turbulence was somewhat confusing. Although I did understand it. I hope they're not confusing the audience out there with that stuff. But it was intriguing to say the least.

    3. It made me wanna see the next episode. Always the most important aspect of a cliff hanger.

Now, here's an interesting concern for a character I have. I think Maywhether is about to die. They never use him, and suddenly he's about to be interrogated by a Nazi!. They could have just used Trip, and you'd know he'd be alright. But having both there seems redundant, which makes me worry a little for the least popular character of the show. But then again, if the mission is successful, perhaps the "reset button" will take care of that.

  8. There was no continuity error. Click the spoiler to find out why:

Lance Henriksen plays Bishop as an Android in the future... we all know that! But in the present he plays Charles Bishop Weyland founder of the Weyland-Yutani corparation seen in the Alien movies, and pioneer or ROBOTICS... ie: Androids... get the picture yet?.

Anywho, here's what I thought of the movie. It could have been done so much better. Everybody in the theatre was cracking up over the chessy baywatch running sequences. Or was it just that particular theatre? At any rate, everyone in the theatre was talking about how much is sucked as the walked out.

  9. This is so strange! I haven't been around here in some time... and I did not expect to see the site undergoing renovations. It's a bit of a shock. I wonder if my font color will show up? (it's navy) Well, whatever the purpose of the upgrades... I hope they work out!

  10. The best episodes have always been about socially relevant issues so I voted for that. But thought provoking science fiction should be included in the second option because the second option is thought provoking and, of course, star trek is sci fi. The third option, by default, is a part of option 2. I therefore choose 2 and 3!

  11. Yeah I just saw that on the site and I'm happy to hear it's finally coming out. I didn't think it would be coming out so soon. I heard rumors that they were considering doing the space scenes in CGI but there was no mention of it. While I would have enjoyed seeing something a little more realistic, I think that the original scenes would suit the rest of the show better and, hey, it's supposed to be just the way it is! They did revamp some of the scenes in the first movie, but I think they did a horrible job at it. I know this is slightly off topic but whatever. In the scene were they step onto the hull of Enterprise to see V'Ger should have been left untouched. In the original one at least the ship looked real. It's looks all too fake in the Director's Cut. I'm glad we don't have to worry about the Original Series being tempered with!

  12. I think I can add a few pieces to the puzzle of the identity of Future Guy.

BEWARE - Small spoilers regarding "Zero Hour" are included!

    1. Maybe this person is a Vulcan or Romulan, I cannot say

    2. I can say that Future Guy is not Soval because in all instances Future Guy has been played by James Horan. Gary Graham plays Soval. James Horan who plays Future Guy (formally known as Humaniod Figure) is not new to Star Trek. He has appeared in episode 248 (Suspicions) of TNG as Jo'Bril (a Takaran)

    3. Other species have ears similar in shape to those of the vulcans.

Example 1: Mintakans - they look almost identical to Vulcan's.

Example 2: Ocampans - similar ear shape and similar hair.

Example 3: Remans - similar ears and lack of hair could appear as a Vulcan/Romulan haircut in shape in the temporal chamber.

Example 4: The alien seen at the end of "Zero Hour". He had vulcan like ears.

My point is that Future Guy is not Soval, but Future Guy may have some Vulcan like traits or even be Vulcan but he could also be one of many other species encountered in Star Trek. Furthermore, the signal sent by Future Guy to the temporal chamber might not even be his true image. Holograhic images have been used in recordings before to fool the audience. At any rate, I suspect that Future Guy may be the alien seen at the end of "Zero Hour". It is about time they reveal Future Guy and the context of the situation makes it plausible for the Nazi Alien to be him. The bottom line is this: all we have is speculation and we will likely never know until they finally tell us on the show... but keep on guessin'. I know I will!

  13. I can tell you that this cannot be a DS9 or Voyager movie! Note that the page on IMDB clearly lists Gene Roddenberry as a writer for the movie. While they can credit him for creating Star Trek, they cannot list him under the writter category unless he took part in writting for the movie itself. Back in the time of the first motion picture they were thinking of making a Star Trek movie based on Kirk's days in the academy. At rogersvideo.ca they have a hollywood gossip page and recently they stated that IMDB claims that a new Star Trek movie might be in the works and that it might be based on the idea of Kirk's academy days. The Academy Years idea has also been mentioned in some of the special features in the Star Trek movie DVD's which tells us it's still in the back of their minds. They even suggested that it was material that never got used, that could potentially be used someday. Even if that's not what it turns out to be, whatever it is, it will be something that Gene Roddenberry had worked on sometime in the past; hence no DS9, VOY, ENT or even a combination. Personally, I'm not too excited about this prospect, but hey, it can't be that bad!

  14. This is it! This is the moment you've all been waiting for! In the far corner we have:

    THE ENTERPRISE SEASON 3 FINALE

    "ZERO HOUR"

And in the other corner we have you:

    THE STARTREKFANS.NET MEMBER

Okay, now listen up! I want a clean fight. The rules are to watch the episode and then vote and tell us why! Other than that... there are no rules!

    LET'S GET REAAADY TO RUUUMBLE!

  15. The above question is simple. Actors have 2 arms and 2 legs. CGI is the only easy was to make something different. Another reason why we don't see things like Amoeba's often is because they would not likely have the means to reach a level of sentience to interact with Humaniods (because they cannot easily manipulate their environment)

  16. It hurt me deep down to put in that last option "Down with Enterprise" because as you can see by the first option "I love Enterprise"! Don't forget to tell us why you voted as you did. There is no show on the air that I like as much as Enterprise. If I had to choose only one show to watch it would be an easy choice.

  17. Great news, but I saw it coming. They wouldn't kill off such a well known show with out some upfront notice. That and other sources said that it would be back. The word simply wasn't made official until today. As for it's change in time. I doesn't really affect me as both nights at current are available to me. The only problem might be that on Fridays, I tend to go out sometimes. Oh well! Long Live Entperise!!! P.S. Darn, I was hoping to be the one to start the topic on this... good job CJLP. I shall get my revenge. Just kidding! Go ENT!

  18. INTRO:

This is it! The second last episode! Will Hoshi be rescued? Or will she be another name to add to the list of 23 crew dead? Or was that 32? I can never remember. This season has been fantastic, and I'm betting it will go out in a big bang. If that's the case, this episode should be the set up for it. I can't wait!!! I'm betting even the Enterprise "bashers" out there are anxious to see how this season will end! Although they'd never admit it. Grab your replicated, er, microwaved popcorn and enjoy the fun that tonights episode will be!

    REVIEW:

The episode hasn't aired yet, how can you expect me to review the episode yet? I'll get around to it later...

  19. Obliviously the red blood was meant to show a closer physical tie between Humans and Xindi then we never imagined could exist... Despite all the differences in appearances the similarity of our blood makes us brothers.

This episode was pure Trek on so many different levels it boggles my imagination!

That was exactly what I was thinking when I read the title of this topic. I'm not sure why everyone else has a problem with the red blood. It isn't that unlikely. Most creatures on Earth have red blood. All the examples of green blood you used were purely fictional. The only colors of blood I've heard of in real life are red, black, and clear (lobsters have clear blood). So to say it should be red is silly. Besides, it's not like there are many colors in the rainbow. There is a one in 10ish chance blood would be red if the odds for any color were completely even which, due to the nature of chemicals and such... the odds aren't even.

  20. INTRO:

Hello StarTrekEnterpriseFans of StarTrekFans.net!!! "The Council" should be interesting. As usual I didn't read about the episode in spoilers but I can only guess that this episode will bring Archer in front of the council. If so, it should be a very interesting episode indeed. Now, as members of "The Council" cast your votes for tonight's Enterprise or face destruction of your home world you Xindi scum! Bolivar out!

    MY REVIEW:

This episode was a fantastic one. It made me really want to see more. And by really, I mean "really" with a capital R, capital E, capital A, capital L, capital L, and capital Y!

What was not to love? How about the battle scenes? Darn tootin'. They didn't take up too much time to reduce the greatness of the rest of the episode, and it was done in very well. It was very fluid and dazzling.

What else was there to love? The deception on all accounts! That's what! In other words, the deception by both the "guardians" and the reptilians. I loved how the reptilians are so powerful they can take control without the necessary votes. It shows how powerful people can be, and how powerless people can sometimes be to stop the crazy minded, death loving people.

Oh how about the hope of peace. I know I can love that. Tucker actually began to make peace with the man he hated most. And in return Degra found some good in Trip. That is what Star Trek is all about: hope. But it was that forgiveness on Trip's part that makes the next point so much sweeter.

The shakespherian-like death of Degra. If you didn't love that part, you gotta be biased towards Enterprise to the Nth degree because it was fantastic. He was duped like all those who die in shakesphere stories. What I loved was when our most favorite (and consequently disliked) Reptilian stepped into the chamber with Degra. All you could see was the shadow of the Reptilians antennae crossing Degra's face. At that point you could tell that "something was rotten in the state of denmark". Of course we all knew the Xindi hadn't truly accepted the evidence but the fact that Degra didn't know that was brilliant.

Moral of the story: Hope can sometimes be blind. But it's better to be blind than hopeless. (Hey I like that one, I'll use that again someday)

I also loved everything else that happened. The other characters had some interesting and light hearted interactions. From the Doctor's tapeworm story to Archer's tales about visiting the Principal's office. But most importantly, regarding other character interactions was that hoshi actually got some screen time. I was very happy about that. Not to mention that ending... wow. Can't wait to see what happens.

That's not to say I couldn't find anything to critisize, but anything I did would be very trivial. For example, I didn't like how random the beginning of the show was when the sphere builders (guardians) were conversing in some weird white background. I also wouldn't have minded a slightly less sudden death for the Marine guy. And although I loved how Degra died, I am in a way somewhat disappointed such a great actor is down and out for the count. But that, like I said, is all trivial and does not take away from the value of the episode.

    WHAT I GAVE "THE COUNCIL":

So, can you count how many times I used the word love or loved in the above? I'm sure you can. That's why I'm sure you also know what I'm about to give. Seriously, you must know I'm going to give this a nice big ten. It certainly deserves it! But then again, most do.

  21. Hey everyone! I don't know much about tonight's episode. Most of what I know is entirely inferred just from the name. It should be obvious. I was going to go to a friends tonight and tape Enterprise, but I just couldn't bring myself to do that as this season of my favorite show is coming to a close. I don't think I'll be able to get myself to Jiu Jitsu for Friends tomorrow either being the last episode and all. That said, I know most of you will enjoy the show immensely (the frequent 10's given to Enterprise by you tell me that) so have a good one and enjoy

Captain's Perrogative: I wrote E Squared in full in the title because I have no way to write a small 2 in superscript.

  22. The Forgotten was a change of pace for the time being. It was slow, with relatively little action. But in actions stead was downright good acting. I was impressed to the Nth degree by Connor (Trip) for the 2nd time with this episode. The first was during Similitude. Once again I found myself saying, "That man can act!" I think it was good that they dealt with Trip's attitude toward the Xindi and his feelings about his lost sister. His scenes were definately the steal of the show. But I also thought the interaction between Archer and Degra were fantastic as well. I thought that it was fitting that Degra is now truly on Archer's side. The message is that sometimes people do things that are wrong (such as attacking Earth) but if they are open to the possibility that what they did was wrong then there is still salvation and hope for them and, in this case, hope for Archer, his crew, and Earth. Degra I'm sure will make up for his past mistakes. I was glad to see the firm handshake at the end of the episode. It seemed fitting between the Captain and Degra. I think the meaning to this is that it only takes one person to make a difference, and Degra is the only one that is truly willing to help. The other Xindi still remain skeptical but I have a feeling that will change for the more humanish Xindi. The Reptilians, I'm guessing, will remain intent on destruction. As for the possibility of T'Pol keeping her emotions. I'm up for that idea so long as she maintains some of what makes her Vulcan. I don't want her to become a "human" character entirely, but I do want her to be somewhat emotional. It is the thing that makes her Vulcan character refreshing in comparison to other Vulcans of Trek. Without the great actings and fabulous story line of Trip, specifically, I might give this episode a 7.5 to 8. But because I think the acting was brilliant I think I will do something I rarely do and lay down a bid of 10. This episode deserves it! I cannot wait till next weeks episode. By the way, I'm surprised that this episode didn't get very many 10's.
