  1. I totally disagree. Never once did the borg actually introduce themselves, starfleet and the Enterprise do not even know what they're called. So how can the TNG make a reference from some nameless alien to the borg, which they just assume is the first time seeing them. We don't know how well the records were kept pre-Federation, there is probably just a mention in a log and a small file somewhere, there is nothing that makes me think the Borg are common knowledge in 200 years.

Also, before Q showed Picard the Borg, they were already near the neutral zone destroying both Federation and Romulan Colonies. When Q sent the Enterprise-D, it's not like they were sent to the Delta Quadrant, yes it was far, but 70 years compared to 7 years is a huge distance, so they were already near the Alpha Quadrant or in the Beta Quadrant. And even though Berman/Piller were not thinking of this at the time, it was clear that the Borg were already on their way if not in the Alpha Quadrant in Q-Who... we just didn't know why until now.

Lastly, if anything screwed up the time-line it's First Contact, not Regeneration

  2. Yes, I like Wesley Crusher more than Neelix.

Agreed!! I never warmed up to Neelix. He always struck me as a nosey old woman-always sticking his nose in where it didn't belong, and making a mess of things.

Glad you agree :look: He was relatively amusing at first, but then his act got stale. Then when he went into depression because he felt he couldn't help the ship anymore he became interesting, but alas, that was solved and was never to be spoken off again. After that he was annoying till the end of Voyager with only a few bright spots, mostly when his episode revolved around Tuvok and himself.

It's no fault to Ethan Phillips, because he is obviously a talented actor but well...

  3. Well, assuming that any given person in question is not obsessed to the point that it adversley affects a relationship, then you're better off without the significant other in question if he/she can't even let you watch a television show or post on forums (whatever).

  4. Click for Spoiler:

I enjoyed this episode a great deal for the following reasons

    1) The T'Pol story line was hilarious. I'm really starting to like Phlox for his sense of humor.

    2) Robert O'Reiley... it was a limited role, but he always owns in my opinion

    3) I liked how Archer convinced the Tellarite to help him, even though it's kind of been done before, it was nevertheless believable and well executed

    4) the Klingon escape scene was entertaining; anyone see the Archer roll followed by the shooting of his pistol while on the ground... well done. Likewise the short battle scene was well done (I always like those)

    5) Good ending that leaves rooms for a continuation of the bounty/Klingon story-line and future Tellarite interaction

    9/10

  5. Click for Spoiler:

I don't know what everyone elses problem is but I think this was a fantastic episode. One of the best I've seen. The backstory was great, the roller coaster type launcher was cool, the relationship between Robinson and Archer was interesting and it had a solid ending. Another reason I liked this episode is it had a different feel, it's something that just wouldn't be done on other Star Trek shows, which is part of what made it so enjoyable to me.

    10/10!!

  6. I'll have to disagree. He did have some humorous moments with Tuvok and some good episodes here and there but overall he is probably my least favorite character in Star Trek, I was glad when he left the ship. Yes, I like Wesley Crusher more than Neelix.

  7. Chakotay was one of the better, but underused characters on Voyager.  Too bad he got shoved into the background so often.

It's also too bad that nothing was ever developed between Chakotay and Janeway.  I never really liked Chakotay/Seven.

    I concur

  8. I think Andrew J. Robinson should have been added. He played a more important than Jake Sisko and he had more episodes devoted to him.

As for the others. Combs and Biggs I say no, only because they were only featured in the Dominion arc episodes, as opposed to Garak who was in both Dominion arc and regular episodes.

  9. Im rather glad that the didn't make his character enter StarFleet. Having another regular, every episode talking chracter wold have made the episodes conjested. DS9 might also have had another 'Wesley Crusher' on its hands. (where Wesley is mildly headstrong only to learn the error of his ways and  the finer points of StarFleet philosophy... every... episode...) The way they did it, Jake was an intresting, refreshing character who offered a slightly different viewpoint and who never outstayed his welcome. Unlike Wesley, Jake was more grown up and never tedius.

I still don't know why nobody liked Wesley, I thought he was just fine.

  10. I really liked Chakotay. I actually would have liked to have seen the writers make more use of him. I really liked Seven too, but once she came aboard, some characters suffered to a certain extent, one of them being Chakotay.

  11. Yeah, it pisses me off too. I've met a lot of "nerds" in my time and none of them watched Star Trek. Everybody I know that watches or has watched Star Trek are just typical looking people. Stereotypes are everywhere and it's not limited to ethnicity. Just remember folks, people are stupid

  12. I watched it when I was really young in the early 80's. I don't remember much, but I remember I really liked it. I want to buy the DVD sets because I've been wanting to see this stuff again since 1985.

There are 3 different series, I personally liked the first one best (with Rick Hunter, Roy, Captain Gloval).. They aren't hard to find, and pretty cheap, about 50$ for 3 DVD full of episodes..

Yup, I saw them at the mall the other day, which is what made me think of it.

  13. Hmmmm...I have a question then...

I'm not sure, but did Odo say he felt "his people calling him home" or was it just that he had a longing to go back?

I'm not sure of the episode, sorry...  :)

    Stingray

From what I remember, one of the changelings said that they had engineered a desire to return home into him before he was sent out.

That is correct, he had an instinctive desire to go home, he didn't hear "voices" per se.

  14. Most people in the 24th century, except history buffs like Tom Paris don't even know about Projectile weapons.

Though I think a good point is made. With all the advances in technology, why haven't they invented a personal force field or some kind of armor for extra protection. Even the most basic security officers in our time usually wear a bullet proof vest, but I think an entire avenue of military advancement has been totally ignored by the writers.
