  1. You mean that Romulans and Klingons aren't real? haha

Seriously though, with so many planets and such a large universe I'm sure there are other species. Lets hope they're similar to Star Trek aliens and not some funky green guys with gigantic eyes no clothes :tear:

  2. I think that it was implied that Malcom got to participate in a little Bow Chicka Bow Bow. :tear:

Yeah, but the thing about that is don't they need a cogenitor to do that? It was incomplete in that sense but it was only the C-story

no they didn't need one because

the third sex is only used if they wish to reproduce, they never said they couldn't have sex without it.

  3. The Kazon? Talk about dregs of the galaxy! For this one, I went with Species 8472, they scared the crap out me.

Species 8472 were really amazing in Scorpion Part 1 and 2. When 5 of the ships combined for that powerful attack, that was just plain cool hehe. I would probably like them more if they were featured in more episodes.

  4. I was just going to make this poll so you beat me by a bit hehe. Anyway, I liked the Hirogen the most. They were involved in some very cool episodes (in a way it was almost a Hirogen arc) and their hunter mentality was really interesting, even though it kind of ripped of Predator. In my opinion though, that wasn't a bad thing and was a very good idea for a Star Trek species. They wore badass outfits and had killer weapons as a bonus, it's too bad they were introduced kind of late.

  5. Not as tall as the Hirogen originally were. In the first Voyagar Hirogen episode they got actors that were like 7 feet tall... they tried to get as many tall actors for those roles as possible, but in the end most of the Hirogens were average or small height once there was actual character development with some of them... but I digress. I didn't really notice anything except that the female Malcolm was with was a lot taller than him, but I don't think he is that tall?

  6. Who would win in a fist fight: Kirk or Picard?

Who would win in a mud fight: Kira or Yar?

Yar, because she has judo training, so all the bent up anger in Kira would be her downfall.

Kirk is more of a natural brawler, where as Picard would just have basic Star Fleet defense training, so I say Kirk.

  7. It may or may not change anything, we'll have to see. Don't forget, Picard encounters them in what? 200+ years? Q probably isn't watching human's yet, so he will still send Picard to encounter them because he assumes they haven't had contact yet and the encounter might just be a passing note in some log by the time Picard comes around and thus they won't make the connection.

  8. I can't wait either. The quality of the story's has been high the last couple of episodes so I'm expecting them to do some cool stuff with it. Also, it will be really cool to see the Enterprise crew react to the most dangerous adversary in Federation history. Their technology will obviously not be able to handle the Borg so it will be interesting to see what kind solutions they come with up with. Here's hopin' this is the episode that acts as Enterprises best of both worlds hehe.

  9. I had long hair for a couple of years, I regret cutting it. The worst part about growing it is that it looks silly until you get it to the length you want and then there is no guarantee whether or not it will look good on you.

  10. Welcome to the board Meatwad! I agree with all you said in your Spoiler. I for one look forward to the Borg episode. A lot of people at ST.COM seem ready to burun all of their copies of every singel episode of Star Trek because of this one episode, but mark my words. When this (the borg) episode is complete everyone will be singing it's praises!

yeah well, st.com people are one slice of bread short of a loaf.

  11. We going to discuss the actual episode in here? Well... if we are:

I really enjoyed this episode. I wasn't really expecting much and was actually expecting a completely different episode. I think a lot of people had misconceptions about how it would actually play out. It dealt with some very strong themes which I really liked. The way Archer reacts to a new species and new exploration options (i.e. when he's in the pod) was excellent because he seems so excited and gives the perfect impression of being a real explorer. Was also nice to see a friendly race for once as well.

The addition of Andreas Katsulas' return to Star Trek in a completely different role and personality was a great idea. Sure his character wasn't as interesting Tomalak, but it was nice to see him pleasent as opposed to being a decietful Romulan, who would like nothing better then to see Picard and his ship destroyed hehe.

The episode displayed some very real possiblities and reactions of crew members to a species who has a very unique culture and the possible reprecussions of the crew member actions, and even if they mean well, how damaging it can be to interfere with another culture. Prime Directive anyone? Archer also showed he can really come down hard on his crew if he has to, which was a nice contrast to his giddy personality for most of the show.

Other notes: Special effects were very good, Malcolm with the alien woman was hilarious (at least to me), and the Doctor's line: "I have pictures" was hilarious.

    Overall: 8.5/10
