  1. This was also posted in the announcements section but I'll put it here too.

I hope this will help everyone properly encode their postings the way they want them for color, size and font. Below is a picture of how the post should look with the Color and size coding already in place:

I want this to be RED

I want this to be LARGE

I want this to be a different Font

  2. Yeah, and the Private message function works pretty good, since soong_girl and I tried to work out how the four of us could probably start a chat (like either soong_girl or lessa had suggested in our "family" thread on ST.com).

There is a Live Chat feature I can add to these boards, but I'm waiting until we have enough members to support it, it would be free to use but would cost me about $150 to add. So when we get 350 - 500 users there might be enough members online at any given time to actually use it.

  4. How does the Member crew and title work?

As you post your rank goes up with the number of times you post. It's just a fun way of keeping the board in the Star Trek theme. I startre announcing the "Promotions" much the same way we would be promoted when I was in the Army or the way they have done it in Stat Trek, by calling the crew member forward to promote them in front of the full crew.

I hope this answers your question, if not just let me know.

  5. Wow!  Great site!  I have a question for you.  I've been trying to find an animated 3D Star Trek screen saver.  Something along the lines of the Enterprise zipping back and forth across my monitor.  Any suggestions or sites?

I'll look for somethig like that. It would be pretty cool. I may even try to make something like that.

  6. Thank you for your kind words, this kind of stuff (web pages) is a sort of hobby for me.

Plus since I've only had to work 3 hours a day I've had time to work on this.

I try to take all suggestions and work them into the board in some way, so a lot of what you see has come from suggestions by other members.

I am glad everyone likes the board, it makes all the work worth it!

  7. Welcome to the boards Moulin Rouge! I am new here, I came over from the ST.com boards and I am having so much fun over here! I transferred over when I saw my friend soong_girl had moved. Now we're trying to get our other friends over here.

I am glad you like the boards, we've put a lot of work into building them up to be fun and informative.

  8. Both annoyed me in different ways. Bev was too whiny so to speak. and Kate was a mean old bird. I guess if someone MADE me pick one. . .Pulaski but, just because I really dislike the whining.

After the way she treated Data? That was the thing about her that turned me off.

  9. Welcome to the board! I think you'll find this a great place to discuss Star Trek. I look forward to seeing you around the board.

If you have any questions about the user interface feel free to PM me or one of the other Mods on the board.

  10. I just found the Doctor to be a really interesting character.

There was a small part of Blink Of An Eye where he was talking to the alien on the ship where they were talking about some sort of sporting event and I found that to just be an interesting exchange.

  11. I found this:

    http://www.dvdadept.com/DVD_Regions.asp

    DVD Region Codes

DVD region codes is a provision in the DVD Specification that requires DVD players to be hard-coded to accept DVDs that is only meant to be played within one of six designated world regions. A Code 1 disc cannot be played in a Code 3 DVD player for example. This technique was developed to enable Hollywood companies to release movies at different times in different regions.

    DVD regions are defined as:

    Region 1 - 1: U.S., Canada, U.S. Territories

Region 2 - Japan, Europe, South Africa, and Middle East (including Egypt)

Region 3 - Southeast Asia and East Asia (including Hong Kong)

Region 4 - Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean

Region 5 - 5: Eastern Europe (Former Soviet Union), Indian subcontinent, Africa, North Korea, and Mongolia

Region 6 - Peoples Republic of China

    Region 7 - Reserved

Region 8 - Special international venues (airplanes, cruise ships, etc.)

The article states some DVD players will play any region but you have to have that kind of DVD player for a Region 1 DVD to work in a Region 2 or 3 Player.
