  1. I never really counted Kira as a first officer like the others, since she never was Federation, per se.

Actually she did become a Starfleet Commander at the end.

  2. It seems we've reached Captain a lot faster then I thought we would. As things were, Captain was the highest rank you could reach by posting. I've adjusted that by adding a new rank. Our board Mods are now Rear Admirals and The rank of Commodore is next in the "promotion by posting" ranks. So the promotion levels are as follows:

    0-4 Posts is a Cadet

    5-25 Posts is an Ensign.

    26-50 Posts Lietunant JG

    51-100 Posts is a Lieutenant.

101-250 Posts is a Lt. Commander.

    251-500 Posts is a Commander.

    501-999 Posts is a Captain.

    1000+ Posts is a Commodore.

And as I said before, if you reach a promotion level and I don't notice please PM me so I can post a promotion notice. As we get larger it's getting harder for me to spot the promotions as they happen.

  3. I guess I'll be the odd one out here... let me start with this though, I thought this was a Really Really good episode. It's very well written and very complex. I enjoyed watching it, but for some reason I haven't had a desire to watch it again. It's not a favorite of mine, and I can't really explain why. I don't dislike it, I just haven't wanted to watch it again.

Other episodes though I can watch over and over and over again.

  4. Like everyone else I liked Pike, and he could have been the Capt in the series had he not had other obligations in 1966. A couple of interesting other choices they tried were Jack Lord and Lloyd Bridges. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe both men were approached to play Cpt Kirk before a virtual nobody in William Shatner was chosen.

"The Cage" itself is a classic for sure and it's odd, yet interesting to watch it and see where some of the changes were made for "The Menagerie", such as the aliens voices and how they change from one sceen to another.

    He Also played:

Mulkahey in DS9 episode Far Beyond The Stars

    Penk in Voyager episode Tsunkatse

I think Jeffery Combs has played more different characters than anyone else.

  6. mrskirk suggested that we have some good Star Trek Avatars and I agree. So I've added a bunch of new avatars and increased the size so these avatars would show up properly.

TO check them out go into your My Controls and scroll down to Avatar Settings, then pick your favorite character. I'll look for some more to add if I can find some good ones.

  7. At the convention yesterday in Pasedena CA, I bought a copy of William Shatners book 'Tek War' for 50 cents. Anyway I got home a just a few minutes ago I was fliping through the pages when I found a McDonalds Double Glittter Iron-on from 1979. I love things like this! Everyone collects the action figures, lunch boxes, records and trading cards. But the little things like this are the ones that seem truely rare to me. Plus it's older than I am!

I bet they are worth a bit of money too!
