It's some kind of homework. I have to write an essay about something, and this is gonna be the basis for the next exam in the next semester. *sigh* :wow:

Another one of those calm Saturdays... Right now I'm eating some French Fries... I cleaned up my room a little today because I'll have a visitor from Thursday - Sunday and I don't want my room to look like a complete mess.

I finally did it, I went to university and got my sheet of paper with my essay instructions... I hated the paper the moment I saw it. B)

I couldn't do much today because it took me 4 hours to get to university and then back home... But still, I'm glad I went there, it means that I can now concentrate on more important things which are to come this week, meaning, the visit of my best friend. B) We already decided which TNG and TOS episodes to watch and stuff. I'm gonna pick her up from the station on Thursday... I'm really looking forward to seeing her again.

I'm currently reading the sequel to "Imzadi", and I find it quite fascinating so far, though I'm usually not much into reading books about relationships. :tear:

It means that some people have donated money for Startrekfans.net. :( Those who have are called "gold pressed latinum members".

Hmm... I'm back. Yay. *lol*

I just got my hands on news about Pat!!! He's going to make a movie, it seems (if my source is correct). Here's the news:

The Merchant moves from Venice to Vegas

Sir Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, two of Britain's greatest Shakespearean actors, are to star in a film adaptation of The Merchant of Venice set in modern-day Las Vegas.

The new £20 million movie will shift the action of the Bard's 1596 play from medieval Italy to the flamboyant Venetian Resort, Hotel and Casino in the heart of the Nevada desert.

The new version will keep Shakespeare's dialogue but will unashamedly set the action on the resort's versions of the Rialto Bridge, St Marks Square and the Grand Canal. No attempt will be made to pass off the replica settings as the real Venice.

On the contrary, Stewart, 65, who is also producing the film, believes that America's gambling capital is the perfect backdrop for Shakespeare's classic tale of reckless gambling, greed and money lending. Controversially, the film is also expected to make use of the city's thriving gay scene as it tries to explore the nature of the relationship between Antonio, the eponymous hero of the play, and Basanio, his young protégé.

McKellen, who is himself gay, is keen to be involved in the project, though last night he declined to go into details. "Patrick has approached me about the role and I am very interested," he said.

The film's modern-day setting is in stark contrast to Michael Radford's 2004 adaptation of the play, which was shot on location in Venice. Industry sources believe the film will be more like Baz Lurhman's fast-paced adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.

Others, however, believe Stewart may be trying too hard. One insider who saw an early copy of the script said: "I think the idea of the Las Vegas setting is a step too far. I think it's an example of taking a simple idea and hitting it with a sledgehammer."

The project is a labour of love for the Yorkshire-born actor, who became a household name after starring in Star Trek: The Next Generation. He has played Shylock in numerous stage adaptations of the role. He is believed to be in talks with the owners of the resort and was unavailable for comment last night.

Now who exactly are those "insiders", eh? Grr! If Pat is producing a movie, it'll be a great one. They should just shut the f**k up.

I just hope that the news are correct... I'll soon find out, I think. *hehe* Pat has been talking about making that movie for a long time now, and I hope he'll get the chance to actually shoot it. It'd be awesome! :P

Well, everything else is ok up here... I'm fine and I just received the information that I have passed one of my exams!!!!

I didn't know that either until I met a huge Sir Ian fan a few years ago. And I, too, want Pat to make that movie, of course...

Not much for today. I did the same as yesterday. Our TV is broken and my mom is looking for a new one... Aside from that - nothing's happening over here.

I just read a small report of someone who has met Pat on the set of X3...

Here it is:

I met Patrick Stewart on the set. I wandered down to Hatley Castle on my lunch break and he was talking to a couple of crew. He was very nice and gracious, shook my hand but declined to let me have my picture taken with him...he said he was not allowed to have photos taken when he is on set.

Now that really sounds so much like Pat, shaking hands and stuff... *sigh* I wish I could meet him there, too... :)

We got our new TV today. Right now I'm experimenting around a little bit with it, I just hope I won't break anything. :)

What else... oh, yeah, I'm so looking forward to tomorrow, I'm gonna spend that day with my best guy friend! I'll have to invite him for dinner, though, that was my birthday present for him...

He finally managed to get access to the internet from his home computer, he wants to install an instant messenger, but that doesn't seem to work, so he asked me to take a look at it... Yeah, I'll do that for him, of course...

Personal log, 8/12/05 + 8/13/05

I had an interesting evening with my friend. He discovered how nice a Star Trek message board can be, since he registered at a German board as "Mr.Picard" B) Now there's his sense of humor  People immediately started to ask if he was my husband or my boyfriend or whatever. He found that amusing. I must admit, I did, too, somehow  :)

I also managed to install ICQ and AIM on his computer! He couldn't even register for those messengers because he had set his firewall on maximum. :) He's such a sweetie, but when it comes to things like that, he's helpless  I had to show him around with AIM and ICQ, but I think he'll manage... I hope

So, my day was pretty much wonderful, except for the thnderstorm in which we were caught when we were walking to his home. It rained like never before and I was wet within a few seconds. The first thing he did when we got to his home was giving me some dry clothes of his... he's really sweet :(

He looks SO cute on them! *awww* He's dressed in white - now that's something I haven't seen before - but he looks SO great. OMG, I could hug him all day and night long. :o He seemed to be in a good mood at the convention, he smiles a lot on those pics. Oh dear, this man lets me melt like an ice cube in the sun... :)
