    Insurrection was really good but it falls third on my list of TNG movies behind Nemesis and First Contact. The more I watch it the more I like it (this has been true with all of the next gen films). The only thing that I can really fualt Insurrection on is that it felt less like a movie and more like a 2 hour episode. As a movie it seemed sub par, however if it had been a 2 part episode I think it could have been one of the best. I didn't care for the villian, Ru'afo, very much either, he was no Shinzon. In diffence of Insurrection however I would say that Picard was as awesome as ever and I thought that the romance between him and Anij was very well played. As far as Trek movies go I give Insurrection a 7 out of 10.

    If they do it of course I'll buy it, but I really don't think they should mess with it. After watching the DS0 episode Trials and Tribble-ations I remember thinking that it would be cool to re do the special effects so that the ships looked better. But the more I think about the more I think of the original series as a pierod piece. It was a show made in the 60's and it looks very much like a show that was made in the 60's. I think if they change it then it would lose something. For example the Star Wars Special edditions were cool but I still perfer the originals.

    I heard Joeybear saying that there is a convention coming up and I live an hour from VA beach so we should be figureing something out, I am looking forward to it. It will be a first for me  ;)  Is there any thing I should know??    ;) I don't want to get there and be the only one with no underwear on my head or  something....lol jk... ;) .... :( Well gonna hit the sack be back to check and see if anyone else if up this late too ;)

    I for one always wear underwear on my head so I will make no exception for the convention. :D

    After a few Romulan Ales, you might not be alone in that!! :)

    I think that could be a great basis for an Enterprise script that explains why exactly Romulan Ale is illegel!

    i should be in posesion of NEMESIS in less than 24 hours. yeah. then i still need to buy seven more movies to have them all on dvd. up to now i have them all but only two on dvd. i cant stand vhs anymore, especially since the one time i went to watch SNEAKERS(great movie with robert redford, sydney poitier, river pheonix, and dan akroyd, and some others), anyway i popped it in and the sound was so bad i couldnt stand it, it had a buzz through the entire movie, so i had to go get it on dvd.

     

    DVD RULES

    Dude I love Sneakers! It's one of those movies that falls in the "one of my favorite films that no body I know has ever seen" catogory. I've been thinking about buying it on DVD actually.

    It's a very long story which I won't get into, but two of my roomates recently moved to Kentucky which leaves me living alone. I have a friend who is moving in with me in June but I need one more roomate to keep the rent to a reasonable level. I've only lived in Los Angeles for 6 months so I really don't know anyone here so I thought that this would be as good a place as any to search for a roomate.

    I live in Sherman Oaks, it's a nice two bedroom apartment which has been converted to a three bedroom, we have a pool and it is less then a block from Ventura avenue. I'm looking to rent a good size beedroom with it's own privete bathroom for $600 a month and that includes all of the bills. I'm a very easy going kind of guy and I watch lots of Star Trek.     Weapons.

    IMO opinion I think it's to early for Phton Torpedoes.  I know I'm being too picky but In TOS Balance Terror Episode it was said that the Romulan wars were fought with primitive nuclear weapons.  At least I believe that's what was said.  I may be wrong

    What's more powerful, a nuculear bomb? or a photon torpedoe? In Star Trek V Kirk had the Enterprise fire a Torpedoe only a few feet away from them to destroy the alien that claimed to be God. A prototype to our current nuklear bombs managed to take out whole cities during World War II. I think just because they now have Photon Torpedoes doesn't rule out that they could and or would still use nukes during a full scale war.

    I'll admit that the song has grown on me, but I still would like them to change it. It's not that it's a bad song, it's just that I know a lot of people don't seem to take the show seriously just because they think the song is stupid. I personally think that Archer should give a speach during the opening like in TOS and TNG. I mean this is the first show since TNG to be aboard the Enterprise and also more then any other show they truely are seeking out new life and new civilazations.

    I will definatly buy both of them. I'll get The Undiscovered Country the day it comes out for sure but I'm not sure about 5. I still don't have the Search for Spock and I need to get a new copy of The motion Picture, both of those will take priority to The Final Frontier.

     

    I also can't wait for the Indiana Jones Box Set! Which by the way will be released November 4th.

    I just got done watching both First Flight and The Bounty again.. Both were great episodes, Enterprise is finally starting to grow up!

     

    First Flight

    was a great episode no doubt. I give it 8/10. I loved the flash back feel of it and I think it gave us a lot of good back story. I also thought it was fun to see a bunch of starfleet officers hanging out at a bar and drinking real alcohol (whens the last time we saw that!). My only problem with the episode, and it isn't a big one, is that I found the Robinson character to be rather annoying. I blame it on acting however not writing. I really liked the NASA feel to the episode as well. To ansewer the question about why they had to wear the space suits in a warp 2 ship, I think it was probably more for safty then anything else. Since it was a test flight there is no telling what could happen. If Robinson hadn't been wearing his space suit when he ejected who knows if he would have lived or not.

    was also a really good episode. Though not as informative as First Flight I think I actually enjoyed it more. Archers escape from the Klingon ship was just cool and I think that when T'Pol showed her emotions it highlighted what a good actress Jolene Blalock really is. I also liked seeing the story from Judgement continued. I wonder if the Klingon's hatred for Archer is what will eventually lead them to go to war with Starfleet. I also give Bounty 8/10

    Though I doubt I would I could feesably see myself with someone who wasn't much of a Star Trek fan. If they didn't enjoy watching Trek with me, I could deal with that. If it ment that I had to not watch as much Trek, I could deal with that. However if they told me I had to give up Trek to be with them then I would most definatly say goodbye. I know it's only a TV show and it's not as important as a good relationship or dear I say it..love. But I think anyone who would make me give up my favorite TV show to be with them just because they didn't like it isn't someone I would want to be with. It's a matter of respecting your partners interests. I have a sister who's primery love is riding horses. She spends several hours a day taking care of her horses, teaching riding lessons, and going to compatitions. She has had a really hard time with boy friends because non of them respect her horse riding as a real interest. She had one boyfriend for a long time that would give her guilt trips whenever she spent the weekend riding in compatitions insted of spending it with him, even though she spent every non riding moment with him.

     

    My point is be it a TV show, horse riding, or a playing music people need to respect the interests of their significant others. I would never tell a girlfriend to not study, stop writing, or give up watching "Friends" just so that they could spend more time with me and I would expect the same treatment in return. People are to be loved, not shaped.

    I'm a little over half way through the DS9 book "Fallen Heroes" by Dafydd ab Hugh and so far I love it! It's very dark and will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is the first DS9 book I've ever read but based on the first half I highly recomend it.

    I voted Archer all though I raelly think they would all be about equal as far as dinner company goes. They each have their own special qualities. Archer is friendly, T'Pol is interesting, Trip is funny, Reed is strange, Hoshi is a rather attractive woman who I wouldn't be opposed to going on a date with, Maywhether is polite, and Phlox is...well Phlox is simply alien and that might be interesting as long as he didn't start cliping his toe nails at the table.

    I looked at the site but it only listed easter eggs for the DVD's I don't have! I anyone knows of any eggs on any of the TNG sets, Star Trek's I, II, or IV directors edditions or Nemesis please let me know!

    TOS: Not born yet but I've seen almost all of them since

    TNG: Encounter at Farpoint - All good things

    DS9: I saw the first two season all the way through and then on and off through about season 5.

    I still haven't seen the last few yaers yet. I'm waiting for them all to come out on DVD since I

    think in a lot of ways it really was the best show.

    VOY: The first two seasons and about the last five episodes.

    ENT: From the begining to present.

     

    I watched a lot of Trek when I was a kid and I watch a lot now. But between the ages of 16-20 I didn't have much free time which is why I missed so much of DS9 and VOY.

    I voted that I'll buy it the day it comes out but the true is I already have it! MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

    It seems that my local record store was sent several copies of the movie three weeks early! I went there this past Tuesday to get the new Marilyn Manson CD and boom there it was! I asked the guy at the manager about since I didn't think it was coming out until May 20th and he was like "It's possible but we've had it for 2 weeks already!"

     

    For anyone trying to decided if it's worth it or not.. IT IS!!!! The special fetures are worth every penny, plus it's just a great movie. Those who didn't care for the movie much the first time, I recomend you give it another shot. I've enjoyed it more and more everytime I've watched it.
