  1. I've been a Trekie since I was six and I'm now 23. I finally got to go to my first convention a few months ago. It was awesome because it was the big one in LA and most of the original cast was there on the day I went. It was really fun seeing Shatner and Nimoy together, I think they should have their own comedy show to take on the road. I also got to see Nichelle Nichols, Walter Konig, James Dohan, Armin Shimermen, Alan Ruck, Carrie Fisher and several masked characters from Star Wars.

All of the above were on the stage and I really didn't ever get close enough to talk to them but I did get to talk to Will Weaton for a short while which was really neat! I also got to shake hands and talk to a lot of people who played guest parts and or small roles including the actor who plays Mourn on DS9, the actress who played Yoeman Ran, the actress who played Yuta, and a few others.

I think that it was possibly the single most amount of fun I've ever had in one day. Walking through the merchidise room I was like a kid in a candy shop! Unfortunatly I was the kid with very little money so I had to be content just to look and not touch.... Maybe next time..

  2. I think that the crew showed a good level of emotion considering. Data may have been one of their dearest friends but he was also a starfleet officer and that's a dangerous job to have. After years and years of explororing the galaxy and having people who you respect and serve with die on a fairly reguler basis I imagine that you would become some what shut off to your emotions when it came to the death of another.

Think about when Spock died, less then a day after his death Kirk was happier then he had been in years. What was it he said? "I feel young as when the world was new."

It also has been a common theme in the next generation to celebrate life in honor of those who have past away rather then morn their deaths. Remember how broken up everyone was when they thought Geordi and Row and died?

I think Nemesis did as good a job as it could to show everyones emotions without having to make the movie longer(which I do wish they had done.)

  3. I'm not big on the idea of Archer and T'Pol getting "the hook up" but I still have faith in the third season. This last batch of new episodes have been some of the best to date for Enterprise. I'm just now after 2 years really starting to like this show and I think that they finally know what they're doing with it so I'm sure that season 3 will prove to be the best so far. When I look back I don't think that any of the previous shows were really super great until their third season. With the exception of DS9 of course which pretty much stayed strong straight through...

  4. Pay TV is without a doubt better, that's why it costs money. I can't afford to get cable or satilite myself but I do get cable at work which is nice. I wish I did have pay TV at home however because the only Trek I get now is Enterprise and Voyager at 3am and both come in a bit fuzzy. I just have a hard time justifing getting cable though because the only channels I really want are TNN, Cartoon Network, Sci-fi, and FX.

  5. With the exception of the alternate ending which I'm thankfull that they cut.

what alt ending? where they show that new first officer?

My husband will get it, but i am not ready to watch it yet.

Yeah you get to see the new first officer and there is this short little comical bit with Picards new captians chair having a seat belt. The whole scene was a bit cheesy and would have ruined the pass of the film. In my opinion at least.

  6. As far as I know Nemesis is still set to be realesed to DVD/VHS next Tuesday. However a few days ago I went to a store called Second Spin here in LA and what did I find on the shelf? That's right NEMESIS! I asked the guy at the counter about it since I didn't think it was supposed to be realesed yet and he said that it had been on their shelf for 2 weeks already! As far as I can tell the whole thing is a fluke but I was wondering if anyone anywhere else has picked up a copy of it yet.

For anyone who is thinking about buying let me say that the special fetures are awesome! Though I do wish that they had included more of the deleted scenes the ones they did include for the most part were really good. With the exception of the alternate ending which I'm thankfull that they cut.

    NEMESIS RULES!!! :innocent:

  7. I think they should show some smokers around San Fransico. I mean you always see the NASA ground control people smoking but of course there is no smoking on the space shuttles. A no smoking policy on board starships makes perfect sense, all though I'm sure there are still smokers, drinkers, and junkies on earth in the 22nd century. I mean if they can't get rid of coffee how are they going to get rid of smoking!

  8. I have to admit that I've recently started to grow to like him a bit more then I have in the past, but my vote is still Dr. Phlox. I just got done watching Regeneration and I was thinkiing that it would have been a great plot twist to have him turn into a Borg and then Archer be forced to kill him. I think it would have created some great drama and been a good chance for some major development in Archer as well as giving them an open slot for a new character in season 3.

  9. Eh, I'm a fan of time travel stories, so when I see a paradox...  I just gotta try and solve it!

For your own sake I pray that you have never seen the Terminator movies...

I was looking at the map of the Galaxy and it got me thinking about a lot of things. Based on this map if it takes Voyager 75 some years to get from where they were in the Detla Quadrent to Federation space then it would have taken the Enterprise A almost 35 years or so to reach the great barier in ST V would it not? The scale on this map just doesn't seem big enough at all.

On another note closer to the topic of this episode... I think this was one of the best Enterprise episodes yet and I don't see that it really created a time paredox, at least not any more so then FC already had. Paredox is simply part of time travel. The only way to explain it is to believe in fate. If you believe that time is another demision as it is explianed in The Time Machine (the original at least, I never saw the new one) then all things have already happened. As you live your life from day to day you see things happening as if they are new but to the future they are merly history.

  10. Smile sisters of Soong for this time I'm with you! Data wins this contest hands down.

To ansewer the question about if Scotty and Dax were really 2nd officers or not... I know Scotty was for sure since he was always left in comand when Kirk and Spock were gone. I'm not so sure about Dax however. Didn't Worf out rank her? I think it might just be a whole differnt story on a space station.

  11. I hate the catsuit, why can't they understand that Jolene Blalock is a great actor, and not just show off her body.. :)

I think T'Pol should join Starfleet and get a real uniform like everyone else. As I remember a lot of peoples opinion of Troi jumped quite a bit higher when she switched to wearing a real uniform. The catsuit may be sexy but I think it takes away from the audiences ability to take her serously and give her the respect her character deserves.

  12. I think it would make the most sense to pick up after Enterprise. That would put the show right at the begining of the UFP and also the early Romulan and Klingon wars. They spent a total of 21 years worth of telivision in the 24th century so I think it would only be fair to spend more time exploring the 22nd. I would also like to see a series that's a bit darker, like DS9.

  13. About a year and a half ago a friend of mine called me up on the phone from the other side of the country to say "Dude we just thought of the best nick name for you, Tank!" I was going to be the driver for his band that summer and since your typical roadie/driver is some 6 foot, 250lb. tattood guy who chews tabaco and sweats alot, I think he thought it would be funny if little quiet, skinny, 5'5" me had a name that at least fit the job. After two days on the tour the name stuck like glue and I've been with it ever since. When I finally got around to creating my own website I called it www.tanksworld.com so the name is most likely here to stay.

  14. I loved it! I think that Enterprise is finally starting to evolve into a really great show (not that it started off bad). This was a great episode and I even enjoyed the Docter, which means a lot coming from me since I've never liked Phlox much at all.

Did anyone noticed that it was directed by Robert Duncan McNeill (Tom Paris)?
