  1. It sounds awesome but I am wondering about one thing.. I thought only Vulcan males went through Pon-Farr.

I wonder if T'Pol resigns from her Vulcan post if she will join Starfleet. That might be pretty interesting.

  2. I'll wait for the DVD. Nemesis was too awesome to watch on a so so quality download. I do think I'm going to start downloading Enterprise and maybe Voyager however since it's going to be forever before they comes out on DVD.

  3. TNG is my favorite series but I have to go with the first 6 movies. They are all so good (with the exception of The Final Frontier). The first 6 moveis felt much more like films and less like a high budget TV series. First Contact was good and Nemesis was awesome, but still it's hard to top II, III, or VI.

  4. I thought it was a great episode! I give it an 8 (I was only expecting a 5). I've never really cared for Mayweather very much but I thought he was really good in this episode. I think it's possible that with a little more development Travis could actually turn out to be a pretty good character. Like most episodes of Enterprise I thought it suffered a bit from being about 10 minutes too short. I think UPN should be like TNN and start showing Enterprise 'un-cut'.

    Click for Spoiler:

I only had one question really about the show. Remember when T'Pol tells Archer that their are life fourms on the planet that is exploding in front of them? What was the point with that? She made it sound like something serious and then the next scene we see Mayweather packing his bags and we never hear anything about the 'life-fourms' again. I think they should have explained them better or else simply left them out of the script completly

  5. I don't think Star Trek should end by any means. There is a big enough universe out there that they could create new shows, movies, books, video games, made for TV movies, mini-series, ect... for ever! I do think that Trek has taken a bit of a dive lately (and for the record I am NOT reffering to Nemesis) but it is still the best thing on TV. If it wasn't for Enterprise I doubt that I would ever watch television. Like all things Star Trek will have it's ups and downs but I have faith that with the right writers they could create a series (dare I say it?) even better than The Next Generation.

  6. I know a lot of people who really hate TMP because it is "too slow". I will admit that it does suffer a bit from 70's sci-fi sendrum, however I don't think that this takes away very much from this truly awesome movie. Although not my favorite Trek film, TMP gets my award for best 'classic sci-fi.' It has a wonderful story and it is full of a lot of very interesting ideas. I highly recomend to anyone who saw TMP years ago and thought it was "boring" or "too slow" that they go back and watch it again and this time pay extra attintion. It's not an action film, it's not a comedy, it's not a fast passed thriller. It's simply an excellent movie! I also recomend to anyone who hasn't already that they check out the 2-disc Directors Eddition DVD. They cleaned up the movie very nicely and the bonus features are very interesting.

  7. I voted "Good" but only because there wasn't an option for AWESOME! I loved Nemesis and I think that it was the best of the TNG movies and I really hope that they make another one. I do think that it would be cool to include characters from DS9 and maybe Voyager but it should definatly focus on Captian Picard.

  8. I can see a little bit of both. Even in his name Willard(or Will) Decker + James T. Kirk = William T. Riker. I'm sure that the character probably originally came from the role that Decker was to play on Phase 2, but along the line after the Picard character was created Riker probably took on the traits of Kirk that Picard lacked. That's my theory anyway.

  9. I picked Reunion. Like most episoded directed by Johnathen Frakes Reunion wasa great episode, but I also thought it was interesting to see Worf get his revenge on Duras. I believe that this episode (along with Sins of the Father) was the episode for most of the Klingon based episodes to follow in both TNG and DS9. Reunion was also very sad and I always go for the sad episodes.

  10. Few people, captians or not, can put a candle to Picard. He is everything that anyone should want to be (with the exception of being bald, but even that he pulls off quite nicely). He is intellegent, whity, diplomatic, kind, strong, sexy, humble, funny, need I say more?

    After Picard my list goes:

    Kirk

    Sisko

    Janeway

    Archer

  11. if one is smart enough to understand Trek, one should be smart enough to get that TNG = The Next Gen.

    It's all good!

TNG? The Next Gen? Are you talking about The Next Generation?

J/K of course. I voted that I really don't care either way. I think that they work just fine the way they are but if they are changed than I don't see that it will change the way I post much. I will say that perhaps changing ENT to Enterprise and VOY to Voyager might not be a bad idea. But I think TOS, DS9, and TNG work just fine.

  12. I finally got to see this episode! I have yet to see all of Enterprise but from what I have this one definatly rates in my top 5.

I loved that we finally got some insight into the non-worrier Klingons. I had always wonderd how a race that seem to only live for battle had ever discoverd warp drive. I also liked that they said that the younger Klingons were starting to only live for battle, this explians the Klingons by the time of TNG. Seeing the court room again was also cool. Star Trek VI has always been my favorite movie because it, like this episode, showed us that the Klingons could be intellegent as well as brutal.

I agree with Crims that the rescue in the end did seem to be kind of tacked on. Tacked on endings seems to be a common problem with Enterprise. What was the episode a few weeks ago where Trip gets kidnaped along with some princess? Judgment could have easily been a two parter. I think if UPN wouldn't cut the shows down so much for extra ad time than the ratings might be higher. I don't remember TNG ever having a leangth problem.

  13. I voted for Spock. Not only was he the role modal for every Vulcan to follow him but he is also just a good role modal for anyone. He was extreemly logical and objective in his reasoning, but he didn't allow his wisdom to stop with cold logic. It was Spock who once said:

"Logic is the begining of wisdom, not the end."

This I believe is a statment to live by.

  14. I'm about half way through so far. The away team made up of Troi, Ro, Data, and Crusher have just beamed down to (or inside of) Hermeticus Two. Picard is still on the Romulan ship and the Romulans also still have control of the Enterprise.

So far I'm loving this book. The Romulans are one of my all time favorite aliens and I love any story that shows a glimps into the mind of the Romulans. I really like the Valak character also.

I can't wait to finish it!

  15. Thanks guys(and gilrs of course)! I was starting to wonder if I would ever make Comander. I've been so busy the past few days that I've hardly had any time to get online. Hopefully my work load will lighten up and I'll be able to get back in the groove and start working toward Captian! :wow:

  16. Did you ever see 2001? As far as I know it is the only science fiction movie to ever recognize that there is no sound in the vacum of space. I was watching the Directors Eddition of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and director Nick Meyer said that he had wanted to make the space outside the ships silent but there was no way it would have gone over with the studio. I think it's funny that in reality you wouldn't be able to hear anything in space yet if you make a movie where the ships are making any noise then everyone in the audience says "hey what's wrong with the sound!" It's ironic that it seems more believable if we simply throw science out the window. If you remember the ships made noise in 2010.

  17. I agree that Voyager probably had the weakest cast. It was a good show but non of the characters ever grabed me like they did in TOS, TNG, or DS9. I'm still un-decided on how I feel about the Enterprise cast. I think that they have a lot more potintial than the Voyager cast ever did, but as of yet very few of the characters have touched me. TNG is my favorite series but I think that DS9 might have my favorite cast. Everyone on that show just worked so well together and they were all very believeable.

  18. I think that Insurrection played a strong part in Nemesis doing pourly at the box office. I think if Nemesis had followed First Contact than it would have done much better. First Contact did so well that a lot of people were hyped for Inurrection. However when Insurrection came out and it was little more than a light hearted two hour episode of TNG, I think a lot of people lost interest in TNG movies. I thought Insurrection was great but I will admit that it is the only Trek film that I've only made it out to see once since The Final Frotier. Also after First Contact Paramont put a lot of money into Insurrection and after it's disipointing box office numbers I don't think that they were willing to risk near as much on Nemesis. I only hope that they will be willing to roll the dice again for Star Trek XI!
