  1. 1. Five days a week for 7am to 3pm I do maintenance at the college I go to. lately I've been doing alot of painting lately, but I do get to listen to the radio!

    2. Saturday and Sunday I work at McDonalds

    3. I am also helping to fix up a house at a local town. This includes more painting but more time listening to that radio!

I mow the lawn at home to for little money, but that's ok because I like mowing the lawn.

  2. S.S. Botany Bay

    Botany Bay?

    Botany Bay?!

    Oh no!!

Couldn't resist adding a little quote there. I haven't seen those Micromachine ships in a very long time and I wish I could find them.

I have 2 out of 4 of the Dominion War novels, the first two Stargazer novels, a book called Enterprise Logs that has a log from each Captain of an Enteprise, very good reading. I have a book that has 6 of the Captain's Table stories in it. Let's see, I have a book called the TNG Officer's Manualthat I think goes along with a card game but has some very interesting info, and my newest purchase was the Star Charts book.

I have a model of the USS Excelsior.

Five ships/toys I found in Arizona. The Enterprise-D, a klingon Bird of prey, a Galor-class Warship, Marquis fighter, and Ferengi marauder.

Some of the movies and several PC games too. I also have some ST:TNG games, one for a SEGA Genesis and one for an SNES. Also for the SNES I have Starfleet Academy:Bridge Commander

I do beleive that is all.

  3. I love the Andorians.

I think that Enterprise should devote some time to their culture since there is very little canon information to go on.

And, if anyone knows any good sites featuring information on Andorians send it to me please. Thanks

  4. Well, I just saw "By Any Other Name" and in it Scotty gets this alien to drink alot of alcohol. In one part the guy says "What's that?" and Scotty replies, a little half-lit himself, "Well, it's green"

This is connected with the TNG episode "Relics" when Scotty asks Data, "What is it" and Data says "It's... ::confused look:: it's...it is green."

Fun fact, it was Aldebaran(sp?) whisky that Picard gave to Guinan.

Anyway, just a little connection I found interesting. I love seeing stuff like that!

  5. Yeah, that one has always been a favorite.  It's  quite humorous, especially with the card game Fizbin and Kirk's driving skills.

Actually, Kirk's and mine driving skills on non-automatic vehicles are not too dissimilar, except at least the car he drove didn't stall out all the time :)

  6. I think this is my new favorite Star tRek episode!!!

Now I must find a fedora to wear.

What did you all think of this episode? I particularly like the Spock/Kirk dialogue.

  7. I am looking forward to seeing (most likely next Friday, July 9) I thought the first movie was great and enjoyed it. My favorite part was when he tried to remember how he shot the webbing from his hand "FLY!"

I too loved the animated series on FOX and have been somewhat of a Spider-man fan a very long time.

    :spidy:

  8. Not to bash ST.com or anything, but have any of you noticed how subpar the Encyclopedia section is concerning ships and aliens.

I would think that any and all canon info in any episode would be there (including pictures of ships).

or is that a reason for us to buy the book?

  9. Yes, I'm going to wear one to school one day on a casual and when someone asks "Why are you wearing that" I'll look down at my PADD and say, "Last I checked, the united states of america was a free country, please inform me if I am now in error"

LOL I love that idea! Tell me how they reply to that.

As for adding to this topic, I live in Tioga County, Pennsylvania. That's in north central PA and I'm approximately 10 minutes away from the NY state border.

  10. An explanation was given in a book (I know not canon) where all non-ridge Klingons defected to The Mist, a people that live in cloak, like the Aldeans(sp?) the people from "When the Bough Breaks"

  11. Imo all Klingons are born with ridges, PERIOD.

During the time of TOS many of them (the ones we saw) were Klingons who opted to have cosmetic surgery done to remove the ridges so they'd look like Humans...

(that is the, "shameful thing" Worf means by; "they don't speak of", in Trials & Tribbulations)

...as part of some stupid ill-conceived plan* of deception against Humans that failed.

Perhaps they'd been unable to score a major victory against Humans since the time of Archer. The Duras family was probably behind the plan that used cosmetic surgery as part of the *plan. (<whatever it was, we don't know except for McCoys finding out about the alterations)

Ah, but that still doesn't explain Kahless's non-ridge appearance.

  12. Well, I'm sure this has been addressed already, but it hit me one day so I thought I'd mention it.

The debate over the physical change of Klingons between TOS and TNG.

It just has to be the makeup thing. I have considered the two-species theory (or something to that effect) but I saw an episode that kills that idea.

In the TOS episode "The savage Curtain" they have Kahless in the TOS Klingon style. Then in "Rightful Heir" Kahless is the new Klingon style.

Again, just thought I'd mention it.
