1. I think the best point came at the end of TNG's seventh season with Best of Both World's.

I think you mean All Good Things.

    275949

Thanks Van Roy, I didn't even realize I'd done that.

Apologies to everybody, that was a juvenille error.

  2. I've seen great episodes and I've seen a couple that could have been better, but the same can be said with TNG, DS9, and Voyager.

Once again I state Enterprise is just as good as any other Star Trek creation and nothing you say can change that.

I'm in agreement with you KM.

  3. Apologies in advance if I offend any fans of the Klingons but:

Q has accused humanity of being too barbaric and basically, everything bad, so much that the Continuum would deny humans existance. If that's true WHY ARE THE KLINGONS STILL AROUND!?

    Entertainment? what??

  4. Oh, memories are fine.

What I mean is when they deliberately take old scenes and use them again to depict something new.

Another one I remember (which probably everyone knows but anyway):

Yesterday's Enterprise: Enterpsie -D is being attacked by two K-Vort class cruisers.

Then, in "Rascals" a couple seasons later, the same footage is used to depict the Enterprise-D being attacked by 2 B'rel class ships, even though they didn't scale the ships.

That meant two different classes that were exactly the same having two names.

  5. I think the best point came at the end of TNG's seventh season with Best of Both World's.

Culminated in an excellent episode (Part II) that contained a plot extremely creative and complex but easy to follow and understand, and great to watch. Very emotional ending and all that too.

Basically, what Star trek was all about, right in one episode.

  6. Well I had a positive topic so here is a negative one.

One thing I don't like to see is rehashed footage.

The worst such incident occurred in "What You Leave Behind", the battle scene was made up of footage taken from several things, including:

    "Sacrifice of Angels" --DS9

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

    "Valiant" --DS9

"Tears of the Prophets" -- DS9

That's all I can remember but man, that's pretty bad.

Another one was I think in that same episode that took scenes from:

    "Once More Unto the Breach"--DS9

    "Tears of the Prophets"--DS9

What do you think, and do you have any other examples?

  7. Didn't Daniels die several times throughout Enterprise? He came back so maybe Silik will too, but we just won't see him again.

Maybe Silik knew that if the mission was completed he wouldn't see Archer again so Archer wouldn't be the one to kill him.

  8. I thought it was so cool to see Trip give the the Vulcan Peace salute to T'Pol's mother as a greeting. But I got to thinking about it. When did he learn that ? T'Pol must have shown him..But when ? We certainly didn't see that lesson..In fact I don't believe that we have ever seen T'Pol give that greeting..Have we ?

    275103

It's possible T'Pol told Trip to do the salute on the shuttle ride over to Vulcan

  9. One of my favorite things, and always look for, are parts of the surroundings seen outside the windows of the starship or station.

What do you think of these effects and does anyone have any examples or favorites?

    Here's a couple of mine:

"Measure of a Man" --outside the starbase lounge window you can see the Enterprise orbiting

"Home" -- you can see repairs and activity going on outside of T'Pol's window.

    Your turn!

  10. Didn't Voyager only have one human doctor. I know that if he hadn't died he would have had the EMH to assist him but there were never any nurses or assistants on Voyager either.

    274002

I thought in "Caretaker Part I" the entire medical staff was killed by an exploding console when they were thrown into the Delta Quadrant.

Then again, it's been at least two years since I saw the episode. Gives me an excuse to watch it again, as soon as Spike begins showing it.

  11. i vote for Mr Remick who not only had his head explode but also had a mind-controlling alien rip out 0of his stomach. GREAT  :(

    9208

That was a good one I must admit. I read that that episode wasn't allowed to be shown in Great Britain awhile back, personally, I thought it was great.

As for another good death, if you count starships, the Enterprise 1701 and the -D as well as the Defiant all had dramatic ends.

  12. Possibly because Chekov had the most suitable backround. In TOS I seem to remember Chekov taking Spock's science position when Spock left the ship.

Since the Reliant's mission was science oriented Chekov would be a likely choice.

  13. Odd thing happened. I was going to see if it would be on at 8 and as I was flipping I saw a commercial so decided to watch it then Enterprise came on so I got to see it after all!!

Maybe my local UPN providers changed by I got to see Stormfront, excellent by the way, so I'm happy again.

Thanks everybody for your support. This thread can be closed at the moderator's convenience now.

  14. I think a better comparison would be the Enterprise vs a Star Destroyer. The Death Star is a space station. Hmm...the Death Star vs Deep Space Nine?

    270318

No contest there. Deep Space Nine, nor any starbase would survive since it has no way to avoid the planet-laser of the Deat Star.

As a side note, depending on which Death Star it is, the Enterprise could have a chance. The first Death Star didn't have the capability to target capital ships, and it took a significant amount of time to charge the laser.

The Second Death Star though could fire on ships and charge its laser much faster.

  15. The Enterprise is more maneuverable than the Death Star. It could go to the other side of the station where the planet-destroying beam is not and fire away.

Depending on the firing range of the turbolaser batteries, the Enterprise could stay there indefinately and just fire away.

  16. Scotty was also too important and far too fat to do any stunts.

    270229

Scotty hit his head on a bulkhead in Fina Fronteir buut it was his own fault.

As for the Chekov idea, I'd be inclined to beleive it 100% if the policeman he asked where the naval yard was just started beating him with the police baton.

  17. It now appears I will miss next weeks episode as well since Baseball will be on Friday night and Saturday.

::biggrin:: seriously, I'm going to be very annoyed the next two weeks.

ABC and NBC are broadcaasting teh debates so why does FOX have to, especially when next Friday FOX will be showing Baseball instead of the Presidential Debate. Can anyone explain that one?

Bottom line: I'm not happy, hope I don't drag anyone else down with me and apologies in advance if I do.
