  1. I just purchased the Star Trek: Ships of the Line calander for 2005. Now I'm ready for the new year.

The pictures are great. I suggest you all buy one or at least look at them. There is a picture of the Enterprise-J for February if that interests anybody.

Ok, that's it for the Breaking News segment, everybody back to work. :frusty:

Whenever I see any signs like that I always yell "Hey it's the Enterprise!" and then my brother gets mad at me.

But back on topic I always think of the Enterprise-D, Galaxy-class.

  3. There was a race in Ds9 in the episode "Santuary" I think called the Skiians (sp?).

With them it took the Universal Translators some time to decifer their language.

    *Added question*

In "The Jem'Hadar" it looked like Sisko and Quark didn't have UT's but were able to speak to the Jem'Hadar and Eris. Does that mean that maybe the Jem'Hadar or Eris had a UT on them?

  4. Ok, I'll take the maiden question:

I've seen a few episodes of Band of Brothers and in some of them they talked about the points system. So, what's that? Does it have something to do with getting shipped home?

Oh, and since you are conducting this thread can we affectionately call you "gunny" like the History Channel's Mail Call or would that be a breach of regulations?

  5. I've noticed on several occasions the Chief oBrien seems to get injured alot throught eh course of the DS9 series, so much in fact that it almost appears that the writers picked on him alot of the time. I don't know if this is because he has a family and they thought it would be more suspenseful, or maybe the writers like seeing him hurt.

So, let's see how many times he got injured throughout the series. Anybody who remembers a particular episode where the Chief got injured list the episode and the injury so we can see how much of a beating the poor guy took.

Also, why do you think he bore the brunt (well, statistically I don't know if he did, unless you want to do an injury thread for everybody. Hmm, him and Quark may be tied...anyway) of the violence?

Here's what I have so far:

    Invasive Procedures-shot in the shoulder

    Armageddon Game-infected by the Harvesters

    Visionary-dies

    Prodigal Daughter-beaten by the authorities

What You Leave Behind I or II-injury on shoulder

    What else can anybody remember?

  6. Ok, two questions: what forms does latinum come in, and in what order, from the least to greatest. All I can remember is slips, bars, and bricks.

Second question, what's the equivalency, like how many slips make a bar and how many bars make a brick? And, what is the value in US currency?

    Anyone know these answers?

  7. Yes, BC I raised that issue in my review of the series.  My only thought is that she did tell him she'd been ill (just not with what) and he said his family had influence.  Perhaps she was thinking once they were married - he would use that influence to help her find a cure in order to avoid public shame.

Perhaps this could be how the mind meld becomes accepted for Vulcans. If his family is influential enough, it may get rid of the stigma over time.

  8. Right now, advirtised as UPN says it is. During Seasons 1-3 it was aired on a FOX affiliate Wednesday nights at 10pm and Saturday evenings at 6pm.

During toward the end of Summer 2004 it moved to Friday nights at 10pm.

At this point I don't know if it's on any other time besides Friday at 8pm. Heck, my local TV guide still doesn't know that it is on Friday at 8!

We're in Season 4 here, north central Pennsylvania, USA.
