1. I would love to see a show based on the Romulan Empire.

    Biased!!

Just kidding, Tal Shiar. I think a Romulan series would be neat. Or they could do a series that involved all of those crews at different points.

  2. Hello all, need some assistance if anyone can provide it.

A long time ago I played a game where the purpose was to control a "universe." So there is the plkayer vs. the computer but there was also a multi-player mode. So the game was set up as a starfield, each star representing a system of planets. So the premise of the game was to build up a fleet and go and conquer other systems, first in space and then occupying each planet in the system.

The only building you did was to committ resources to adding to forces of warships, stealthships, missles, transports, troops, planetary defenses, and possibly factories I can't remember.

It's fairly old but if anyone remembers the title I'd appreciate it. I've also had some unsuccessful search-engine attempts so if anyone gets a breakthrough please let me know.

    Thanks.

  3. So how would you have reacted when all those Jem'Hadar beamed onto the bridge and started rushing you?

I probably would have gotten as far as to say "Oh..." and not even get to the next word before all those Jem'Hadar royally dogpiled me and sent me to that mind-room that most of the senior staff ended up in.

    What about you?

and, off topic, this is my 500th post, hurrah hurrah!!

  4. My only explantion is the obvious one that since Generations occurred several years after Captain's Holiday was written the writers just forgot.

But, since the Vorgons were supposed Security Officers maybe they were there to take the Tax Utat back to prevent it from being used in our time period, perhaps they were to confiscate it and lock it up somewhere. I can't remember if they were established as having insidious plans for the Utat or not.

  5. That was brave :)

Agreed, you have far more courage than I Reveka. I too ask how your classmates responded to your speech.

A little off topic, I saw the thing they did with Conan and Star Wars, if that's the one where they had Triumph busting their chops. He would have had a field day at a Star Trek convention, if they would let him in, but then he would do a bit about not being allowed in, like that time in Hawaii. If you haven't seen it, man it is hilarious!

  6. Yes I know, I've talked about this episode before but I just saw it again and I noticed something else:

Tasha talks about how the Enterprise-C is more maneuverable than it's Romulan counterparts that it will be up against when it returns to Narendra III, but when the -C is making it's way toward the rift, did anybody notice how slow it turned and moved?

My guess is that since it was already damaged the thrusters and impulse engines to some extent, contributing to the less than ideal speed and maneuverability. So then, why does Tasha even mention maneuverability as an advantage?

Also, if Federation ships have tractor beams in that timeline, do you think it would have been better for the -D to just tractor it into the rift?

Here's some choices if you need them:

    1. Tasha didn't know how bad the engines were

    2. The -C didn't commit full power to the engines

    3. Federation ships don't have tractor beams then

    4. It was better for the -D to draw fire from the -C

    5. Jeez ussacclaim, quit reading so much into it and watch the blasted show!

PS, if you all select Choice 5 I will be sad. :)

  7. What's that white fluffy thing next to the bottle?

    A tribble?

    286524

I didn't know tribbles liked Saurian Brandy!

I think my dad found a bottle like that in our attic and I annexed it. It looks the same but I doubt it's a Saurian brandy bottle, the design is just similar.

And no that's not the one you bought ST, I just checked and it is still on the shelf!

  8. Let's make sure that history never forgets, the name, Enterprise.

Captain Picard said it before providing covering fire for the Enterprise-C and I think that quote is a good idea. Great name, great ships, great captains, great crews that get the job done, in any time period, or die trying.

Now on a lighter note, I like when Data is asking Guinan why his joke failed and Guinan says,

    "Maybe your timing was off."

Data replys sincerely: "My timing is digital."

  9. According to the March 2003 issue of Star Trek: Magazine the designer worked out a way for the Enterprise-E to separate, even though it wasn't in the script.

It's sort of like the Captain's Yaght on the Enterprise-D, never shown, but it's there. So yeah, I think it can.

  10. Ok, the only reason I'm asking this is that in my area I've noticed that I am practically the only one that comes to a complete stop consistantly when a stop sign appears so I want to know if this is just a local phenomena or is it takes place nationwide, and possibly world wide.

Don't worry I'm not a police officer so I won't report anyone. :busted:

  11. Where did you get such pins?  I've been looking into getting one or two of them.

    286129

I have lots of such pins but I've been collecting them for quite a while. I must admit that I bought most of them at the Roddenberry.com on line store that is no longer active. That saddens me some since I've bought so many neat things there. I'm upset at myself that I didn't buy a Bajoran communicator there when I had the chance..But I did buy a few comm badge pins at the communicator mag website..And I'm sure that I've seen them at the Star Trek:The Experience website..

    10-4, thanks St.

  12. Click For Spoiler
I'll have to give this episode a 9.75. Yes, the whole Archer being able to fight off three Vulcans was a little disbelieveable but, the rest of the episode more than made up for it.

Andorian vessels, Shran, Romulans, unification!! wow.

Enterprise, keep up the good work buddy!!

  13. Nice St.  You also are wearing a Star Trek shirt, another ebay thing?

    285506

Actually, that's just a regular hooded sweatshirt that I put a communicator pin on..I have many such com badge pins and other trek pins..I don't believe I bought any of the pins on Ebay though..

Where did you get such pins? I've been looking into getting one or two of them.

  14. Since I'm in class while Ds9 is on I tape two episodes of that every day and then watch them that day. Then, if I want to see a TNg epside that day I'm usually home by them so I'll watch that. So that's three episodes a day usually. Then I watch Enterprise Friday's at 8pm.

Star Trek is the only TV I watch mostly now, that and Whose Line is it Anyway!
