Eastern Conference
Forwards: Recchi, Mark; Leclair, John; Amonte, Tony; Roenick, Jeremy.
Defencemen: Johnnson, Kim; Boyle, Dan; Kubina, Pavel.
Goalies: Khabibulin, Nicholai; Esche, Robert
I know JR's not on the list, but I'd like him on my team. Is that OK?
Western Conference
Forwards: Sakic, Joe; Hejduk, Milan; Forsberg, Peter; Konowalchuk, Steve.
Defencemen: Blake, Rob; Liles, John-Michael; Sopel, Brent.
Goalies: Aebischer, David; Legace, Manny.
Same for Konowalchuk as Roenick.
I hate the teams I've chosen. I always lose these things so let's hope history repeats itself.

So are you saying he was assimilated by the Borg at some point? -
But they do look like communicators already. Nobody would ever copy that design because you speak into where the earpiece would be and everyone around you could hear the rest of the conversation. Obviously cell phones are to some extent based on the design and the flip-out types have been around for years and years. Compare the communicator below to the Motorola Startac - this is the one I had about 6 years ago (or one in the same series - it's too old to remember):
Even the name was obviously based on Trek.
The only way to make it look exactly like a communicator would be to get rid of the keypad and screen. A communicator would have even less functions than a regular cell phone of today which can be used normally, to send text messages, access the internet, take pictures, record video, take voice memos, play games, schedule, etc., etc. Plus they look way cooler than the communicator ever did.

Red Shirt Volunteer, that Botanical Garden near your place is fabulous! Lucky you!Yes, I'm very lucky. It just stretches out forever and takes a couple of hours to walk around if you don't really stop and smell the roses so to speak. There's a slight fee to enter, but it's very low and well worth it.

Troi must go. I sense she will disappear soon.

No, and why would anyone want to?Because, RSV, It looks soo cool. I mean, come on, who wants to walk around looking like Nelly when you can look like John Wayne? I think nothing says "American Bad***" <Sorry for those not Americans> more than tight jeans, cowboy boots, a big gold buckle, a ten gallon hat, and a pair of Colt .45 revolvers on your hips.
Thanks for clearing that one up for me. I guess it was a "cultural" misunderstanding.

VBG and I have discussed this possibility in the past but are as of yet not able to find a way to do it, but I am not giving up on it, eventually we will figure it out. Thanks for the update, ddillard. It's not really a big deal, just a thought I had while I was in there testing it out. Thanks for your efforts.

Oh, good eye, Bysty.

It would be a bit weird to see the Ent. crew interacting with people from the TOS era, but interesting. Actually, the mix of our idea of future technology and that of the TOS viewers' era would look even weirder.
Has anyone else noticed that IBM makes the monitors for Ent. I think one of them actually had the IBM logo on it if you look at it closely. I didn't, but just happened to see it.

I think regardless of the Xindi attack, Section 31 would become a necessity. Not so much to deal with Earth's enemies, but with its new friends: the Vulcans and the Andorians in particular.

at some point I would like to see Archer given orders back at starfleet command and a scene where he addresses the crew and makes a speech which would include briefing the crew about their new 5 year mission..."to seek out new life...new civilizations...to boldly go"This is an interesting idea, and I like it. But I'm wondering if it happened this way, would Archer say "where no man has gone before" or "where no one has gone before."
Either way, I agree that it's a good idea. I think this would be an excellent note to end the series on, whenever that happens.

No, and why would anyone want to?

Yeah, talk to the neighbour first or find out what city bylaws exist concerning this situation. Signing a petition that might violate his rights is only going to create bad feelings in the neighbourhood. Personally, if I were him and someone came up to me with that kind of petition and it wasn't governed by city bylaws, I'd go as far as the law allows me to make those people's lives more difficult. Eg. working on the car when they want to enjoy a quiet day in their backyard.

Maybe it means how did he resist her? Maybe because the Borg nanoprobes wouldn't work on him - she had to convince him, not force him.
-
How about neither. It's fine as is, and even if it wasn't, I wouldn't spend money on it.

Click on the link above to read about the latest on Bond. Looks like Brosnan wants to do it.
Brosnan is in Mexico shooting the film The Matador. When asked who he thought should be the next Bond, Brosnan leaned toward the microphone and said: "Me."

Would you say that Enterprise is the most TOS like series? Here are some of the comparisons:
1. Involves the Captain of a starship who goes on away missions.
2. Centres round a central group of characters i.e. Trip/Archer/T'Pol and Kirk/Spock/McCoy.
3. Both crews take control of the situation and get involved in the action.
4. Both have Vulcan Science officers.
I’m sure there are more comparisons. Anyway, what are your views?
1. True, but this is likely more due to Bakula's contract, which I assume states he must be on the screen for a certain amount of time. One could argue this is to make the link to TOS, but I doubt it.
2. True, but so did all of the series. I don't really see that this is a unique characteristic of Enterprise and TNG.
3. Not really. The Ent. crew takes a beating. Again, I don't see how this is any different from the other series.
4. This is a good point. It would also make sense to have a Vulcan science officer since the Vulcans are presumable more advanced in this area. Perhaps T'Pol defines the role.
I agree with you about T'Pol, could you really see Spock givining Nurse Chaple a back massage, like T'Pol did for Trip......no I dont think so,Spock is a Vulcon T'Pol isnt....she is just the seven of nine of Enterprise IMOMaybe it's a sexual dysfunction that causes her to be interested in times other than the 7 year cycle for Vulcans. I also don't see why every Vulcan is defined in terms of Spock. This would be called racism if you defined every member of a racial group in terms of the one and only representative of the group that you knew well.

300 billion dollars (US), plus tax. That sounds about right.
Yeah, it's the tax that'll sink the plan.

Maybe someone lied to them and said the probe would be enough to stop earth by hitting something in the target area, but the truth was later revealed. Then again, the target area was rather random. Maybe the probe malfunctioned?

This was a great episode. The only complaint I had was the scene where we see Archer with Shran in his viewscreen and antennae sticking out of Archer's head. I thought this should've been the opening scene/image of the episode and if they'd wanted, they could've done the earlier parts through flashbacks it necessary.

Hi Spacetigger,
Sorry, I just realised upon rereading it that my last post probably didn't come across as very friendly. It's just that when I went out to get my Startac, I'd chosen it because of the communicator similarity. I even flipped it open Kirk style and said "Kirk here!" when drunk a few times. Your post reminded me of those days.
Cheers,
RSV
