  1. I would have voted for Hoshi if she'd been on the list.  (although she's actually okay in season three).  Wesley was definitely annoying.

As Hoshi's lines decrease, so does the irritation factor associated with listening to her whine.

Neelix takes it, hands down. At least Wesley can say he was a kid; what's Neelix's excuse?

  2. They may have had time to mount a take over since the station wouldn't have been in communications range for 4 hours. However, that would have taken more time and Enterprise had more important concerns, namely finding the weapon.

But they were planning to be in orbit around the thing until it presumably sent a signal four hours later anyway, otherwise they might as well have just left it alone. So we can assume they had four hours and a full ship of people doing pretty much nothing. The MACOs at least wouldn't have had much to do at this time. Why not send them down to take the thing over?

It was not a good idea. At any rate, they had at least four hours to decide whether they wanted to launch an orbital attack on the station. Doing it immediately was pointless.

  3. Yeah, who would even think of trying to make a citizen's arrest - that's just crazy. Why put your own butt on the line if it isn't already? I'm quite well-trained (black belt in karate) and I wouldn't try that unless the person wasn't planning on letting me leave the scene without injury. You never know when somone's going to pull a knife... or worse. Moreover, I never know when I might meet that one in however-many people who'd actually just plain be better than me in a confrontation.

  4. 1. Blowing it up was an extremely stupid idea since they should've assumed the Xindi would have kind of system to verify such an event. They should've sent down a landing party to take over the station or something.

    2. Yup. You'd think ships would have a code to transmit to let them near that thing.

    3. I don't see how they're possible if the timeline deviated at the point the Klingon came to Earth in the first episode. It would've have to have happened well before that as far as I can tell.

    4. 31st if I recall.

    5. I think he's a Romulan from the future, too; but, not as far ahead as Daniels.

    6. Oh, I don't remember.

    7. No, because the big red reset button is coming soon if I'm no mistaken.

    8. I hope so. As much as I like the TCW, it's time to just put the show on track already.

  5. I'm offended that people mad some of those topics to begin with because they had "no point" and looked like things that should have been placed in a personal log. I salute the GMs for making this new forum because some of the topics were beginning to annoy me because some of the type I've been enjoying for quite sometime would disappear to like a third page in a day.

    Exactly.

  6. Porthos likes the cheese and I think Archer likes to be the only one to give it to him so that he stays loyal to Archer only. My mum was the same way with the snacks for my cat. Everybody except me used to give him snacks secretly and he hated me.

  7. so does that mean the apache shall remain the leading chopper, technology wise, or is there another in the works?

BTW cool idea mr irmy. lol. thats a great show, so this is a great thread. as far as the m16 goes its the A2, the A1 was vietnam era, and compared with the A2 is a peice of junk i guess, thats the one that jammed, and malfunctioned a lot. i like the AR15, i have the lower, and am waiting for some cash to buy the rest of the parts for it.

I saw an interview with some soldiers in Afghanistan and they said they were picking up AKs whenever they found them because they're more reliable and pack more of a punch than M16s. Then again, some of them were tank crew and didn't have much more than a pistol if I remember correctly.

  8. So I guess this means we'll be seeing the funerals of ensign thatguyoverthere and crewman thirdcrewmanfromtheleft. Very sad now. :(

Don't worry, they all come back as Romulan/Klingon/etc. cannon fodder as extras in later episodes. Red shirts never die, but they get killed again.

  9. referred to as: Has anyone ever told you you are weird?

    Fave beverage: Margarita ( :( )

    Fave color: Black

    Fave flower: fushia

    Fave food: Escargot

Fave cheesecake flavor: I hate cheesecake

Fave junk food: Grandma's apple pie

    Fave animal: cheetah

    Fave emoticon:

Oooh, I forgot about Margaritas for a minute there.

  10. The thing is, she was exposed to Trellium D in the course of her job and experienced the effects due to that. If not for that, she wouldn't have become addicted. If a police officer were exposed to a drug nowadays and got hooked through their normal course of work, as T'Pol did, then later found him/herself unable to stop, he/she'd have a lawsuit against his/her employer just as much as the employer would have a case against him/her.

I think this is a bit more complicated than just condemning T'Pol.

    Hi Trinneergirl,

Yes, Trip would also be responsible if T'Pol told him something, but she might do it througha mind-meld (assuming she gets some training latter). It could go wrong and Trip might not know exactly what he's seeing/feeling. It might just be a way for her to share her feelings with him.

Phlox would have to respect patient's right to privacy as well as any danger to the crew. If he were able to fix the problem in a relatively quick amount of time, she might not need to be informed on.

  11. I don't like that she could get away with it; but, at least it makes the characters a little more interesting. One of the things that grated on me about TNG was how everyone always had halos over their heads, no ghosts in their pasts and walked around with this holier-than-thou attitude. I think Ent is exploring new territory here, and I applaud them for that, even if I don't like a character because of it.

They can still deal with it by having her confide in Trip or somebody else.

  12. I think they must've been doing a rewrite after coming to the realisation that their original ideas weren't up to what they could be so they started rethinking how they want to end it and where that ending could take them next season. I also think things may have been up in the air with the renewal of the show for another season, and perhaps they might have been waiting to see whether season 3 should have a definitive ending or they should plan for a fourth season.

  13. It doesn't matter to me at all, though it's nice. The posts are the most important and I think too many extras can get in the way. The ratio of posts in Trek forums compared to non-Trek seems to be changing in favour of non-Trek these days. I'm not sure this is a good thing, but some people seem to be enjoying those discussions. I do, too, on occasion, but not everyday.

  14. I agree with CJLP that the "Bring Back Kirk" clip is fanboyish. Words like cheesy and cheap come to mind. It was the lamest idea I've ever seen.

Also, Shatner's books were ghost-written (at least in part), weren't they? Let's leave writing to writers. Let's leave acting to actors. Hey, what's Shatner going to do?

And I wouldn't really consider reading a Trek book either. With all the great literature in the world, Trek books are not exactly on top of my list of books to read.

Shatner needs to just roll over with the whole Trek thing. If he wants to do other stuff, fine.

  15. dusty indigo? what ever happened to basic colors like blue? red? white?. sorry but dusty indigo sounds like the name of a callgirl to me. what exactly is Hanes trying to sell us?

I'd buy them if I could. It's just not worth it getting them posted all the way to Japan.

  16. gThe character. I think the people you see playing leads on television seriescthatfs what their like. What youfre seeing is what youfre getting.h

    LMAO

So hefs basically said he wasnft acting, which supports my theory that he can't act.

Hefs so delusional. And people wonder why I donft want to see Kirk come back. :theforce: I'm just wondering if they were smashed during this interview. It's like their mocking themselves when the sound effects start. It would be funny if Shatner was actually a talented actor, but since Trek was the height of his career, it's kind of pathetic for him to take potshots at it.

Let's face it, you can take the Shatner out of Trek, but you can't take the shat out of the actor.

Thanks for the interview - it was good for a laugh and an interesting insight into Kirk's, err, Shatner's personality.
