My only quibble with this part was Hoshi's dress.  Question to all women in vicinity of message boards:  would you wear an alluring dress while marooned in the house of a grotesque alien who thinks you're hot (hint: the correct answer is "No!")?

    Click for Spoiler:

Yes, my thoughts exactly. Her dress (and damn she looked good in it) was a little to short for such a cold environment, whereas we see the alien dressed up like he's in a blizzard (well it was a blizzard outside). But hey, you gotta take ratings over realness sometimes and this episode deserved some good ratings.

  2. SuraksSoul one thing you and any others interested in drawing more people here can do is visit the other MBs and politely post on the "links" page letting the local ENT lovers know there is a place they can go and express their feelings for ENT and give them a link or, you can post on any threads there sharing your views of whatever topic it may be and leave a quiet little link to here at the bottom of your posts. Those are how we go get new recruits.

Yes, I really agree with you on recruiting from other boards. The others should also join in on doing this. In fact, it was a post by VGB on ST.com that brought me to the beginnings of this board. So dropping a little note on other boards will definetly work.

Also..by contacting webmasters of fan-based sites, you might even get them to create a link or mini-advertisement for STF.com!!

Do the MODS have any advertising promos on websites?

  3. Hi! When you mentioned ENT regulars, do you mean regulars to the ENT forum or the the show? I'm a regular to both. Right now I very busy with work and such, so I haven't had much time to post. But I'm here! As soon as I get through this busy time, you'll be seeing much more of me.

Riaan, I mean both to the forum and to the show. Foremost to the Enterprise forum, because if you have ever visited ST.com -- you know the immediate difference that this board (STF.net) offers. Nothing pleases me more than to engage in intelligent conversations with people of common interests and STF.net offers such.

We just need more people to invoke more opinions into the pool.

Unfortunately, we do not have as much control when it comes to bringing new people to Enterprise (the show) other than good old fashioned word of mouth. B)

  4. Looking at the quantity of message posts about the last episode of Enterprise "Exile"... (it's not bad) but Alterego brought up a good point in the beginning of the thread and I don't think he meant it in the fashion that I'm now going to state it. Where are the people (fans) at? Have they abandoned the new series? There are around 500 registered members on this board (considering a lot of those 500 are not actively participating anymore probably). Some posters stay in their own threads (i acknowledge guilt on this one)...but even when "Enterprise" goes off air (after season 7 of course!) I will welcome any new Star Trek show with open arms if one is comes our way and post in whatever thread is created for it. Nevertheless, we need more posters people. Anybody have suggestions or ideas on how to attract more people to the "Enterprise" forum and to comment on episodes?

Note: I'm always glad to read the posts of all of the regulars (you know who you are!)

  5. Well...this episode was interesting..

    Click for Spoiler:

Is it just me, or is Hoshi in front of the mirror a little too much. Well...anyways.... this episode had that Beauty and the Beast vibe going on with it. Castle in the middle of the deserted wood effect. Plus all that wandering around and discovering things that you shouldn't. Funniest part was when Trip let the shuttle pod take off by itself. That look on Archer's face was classic! So..there are over 50 spheres? Thats interesting. I can't wait for North Star. That looks like a fun episode.

Overall..the episode was ok. 6.5/10. Guess we'll see the season premeire next week!

  6. Oh my god...

    Click for Spoiler:

That episode was great! Wow... action just keeps getting better and better. It must have taken them a long time to make these sets, because there seemed to be so many locals. The bridge, the tunnels, walkways, etc.. Amazing effects job. So now we now what causes the insanity...the trellium! Makes good sense. Hope Phlox can modify T'Pol's immune system. The makeup job on the actors was stellar! Very enjoyable episode with a fast pace. I also love the cinematography of the action scenes...the way the cameras run. Ok...I'll stop here. That was great!

I'll give the episode a 9.5/10....close to perfect.

  7. Ok..with all of the shows THUS FAR, let's get some opinion on the entire train. I believe that I already know the answer to this question(but I may be completely surprised). I'll vote for "Good" with a decent pace.

However I will make a point that the truthful opinion of the masses probably lies in a mixture of these options...not just one.

  8. Wow...from reading the above posts..I get a completely different vibe...

    Click for Spoiler:

I enjoyed this episode more than I thought I would. Also... I really did think this episode was going to be more sexed out than it actually was. The Xindi boarding parties made for good scenes [and destruction]. I think the Enterprise is going to need a lot of interior repair after that outing. As for Rajiin...I actually like the actress who played her. I wasn't annoyed with her the way I was with Trip and "that princess" lady that crashed on a planet together in the escape pod! Oh sorry..that was a while ago. Moving on, Archer just seems more charismatic when he's pissed off and under pressure. I'm quite pleased with Bakula's performances this season. And the end! Wow..it ended just like episodes during the last season of DS9. I love how it was devoid of any resolution.

Next weeks episode looks really good. I've been waiting for the vulcan insanity episode.

Overall...I'll give it a 7.0/10. Better than "Extinction."

  9. I loved last nights eppisod and the City in Archers Dream that was cool and the best part of it was T'pol in her Pj's

Yes..the dream was cool. It was obvious, however, that the city would be abandoned in reality. Still a great concept.

I do find it strange though that the race trying to control the outbreak seemed to know about the city, but hadn't done anything to prevent entry into it....but I guess it didn't really matter. Also I don't see a point in them trying to control the species. I mean what was the value of the planet to them anyways?

  10. Overall...6/10. I only found the episode interesting near the end...

    Click for Spoiler:

Ah yes...back to the jungle climates we go. They morphed pretty fast didn't they? If they hadn't introduced the genetic road map into the story and the automatic quest for "erquat" (incorrect spelling i'm sure)...then I probably would have just dozed off. This reminded me of the season one episode with the hunters! So it looked like at the beginning we might find answers to the Xindi...hopefully they salvaged the Xindi's landing pod like Archer originally commanded. Unfortunately, they left that result out of the ending! (did anyone else notice that?)

    Hmm...Next week...sex slave....eerrr....

  11. Good question! And you got a good response from him too.

I had the pleasure of having Connor T. answer one of my questions on ST.com last season, however, my question baffled him.

I asked if he thought that we would eventually develop ST technologies in the future (him being an engineer on the show and all...).

    His response: "Gosh...I don't know." B)

  12. i think we should just accept what the producers have done, and appreciate the fact that it is god damn frikn hard work to turn out a drama every week and their bound to get something wrong.  True, I have only heard the theme from a post here, but I really dont care either way, so long as their is a Trek series being made.  I support the entire franchise un-conditionaly.

    Nicely said...

You know, I really don't like the theme remix (i hate it with a passion actually), but it really isn't the life and blood of the show. Enterprise has progressed with its quality throughout the last season and at the start of this one. I watch it for the show...not the damn theme song. If it bothers you, just go get some food and drink when it plays!

  13. Lets just go straight for

    Click for Spoiler:

Amazing episode. Archer really has the sense of urgency and desperation now...that has been needed to fufill his character a little more. Tonight, he was truly a captain. He had to make a tough decision (by putting the guy in the airlock] and it played out to his favor. The sphere was interesting... This is very nit-picky, but I wonder why the sphere didn't have a defense system other than the cloak? Maybe they thought the cloak was enough... Anyways, great action and dialouge this time and the FX were incredible tonight! My mind is still stuck with the image of Archer loading the database. Bring next week on already!

    the spoiler function shall we?

Ah..overall I'll give it a 9.9/10 ...no episode can be perfect, but this one wasn't too far off! Lets keep season 3 episodes at this level!

Edit - This is the highest that I've ranked an episode. I think that I liked it better than last seasons' "Cease Fire" and "Future Tense." Probably because the adrenaline was much faster tonight it seemed.

  14. You know what? Remember when Enterprise had not even started and the promos for it were running. Remember that they kept playing "Wherever you will go" by The Calling in the promos?? Hell...I'd much rather have that song instated as the theme.

What were they thinking? (ah..they werent thinking..shocker)

  15. Click for Spoiler:

Ok...going to repeat some things from other threads but...Overall I would rate this episode at 5 out of 10. I have mixed feelings about some things due to their newness factor. Someone mentioned Archer's new sternness. He was really pissed off in the beginning -- a big change from the ending of the Expanse (of course they have been in the Expanse for what 6 weeks now with no evidence?] I guess that I can see now how things would become frustrating.

    Click for Spoiler:

Again...didn't that annoying alien in "Canamar" play the Xindi?? I can't stand him for some reason.

    Click for Spoiler:

I thought the plot twist was the redeeming element of the episode.

I can't wait for next weeks episode. I'll hold judgement on this season because of the experience of the last season getting progressively better from episode 1 to the "Expanse."

  16. Click for Spoiler:

Yes, since it is an arc story I thought the ending was appropriate. When they found the planet destroyed and learned that it had been for some time, I enjoyed the plot twist. It kind of left them with nowhere to go...no leads to follow except to go deeper into the Expanse

  17. Ah yes...I thought I was listening to the chieftans for a second...then I realized that it was still the same song...just revamped. IN THE WRONG WAY.

As I was listening to the song...i wished that they had not changed it.

I didn't like the original song at first...but then it grew on me quickly. I don't forsee this new version doing that.

Maybe I'm thinking about this too hard. :borg2:

  18. Ah yes..the two night episodes were wonderful. I enjoyed last night with "The Expanse." It was great to see it again. Now I'm charged for next Wednesday and a return to the great postings and debates that I have missed out on during the summer!!
