  1. I think this woman is lazy and just looking for something for nothing.

She couldn't just clean the kid's shoes instead of throwing them away? that's just being lazy or foolish. Every time you step in something objectionable do you throw away your shoes or just clean them?

As for the city not enforcing it's laws, can the city afford a police officer to follow every dog owner around to write tickets for not cleaning up after it?

  2. I love the movie. My favorite parts are the parts involving fans at the cons and the "geeks" that guide Tim Allen and Sirgourney Weaver through the bowels of the ship near the end.

As an aside,Over the years I have met fans that are that fanatical and have actually asked the actors technical questions about the ships like they are real. Makes me wonder some days.

The majority of fans are normal people except for the few that give us all a bad name especially when the news crews show up to find "geeks" to put on the evening news.

  3. Which Star Trek Character Are You?

You scored as a Montgomery Scott--"Scotty"

You are Chief Engineer Scott. You know--"Beam me up, Scotty!" You can drink like a fish and work like a dog. You are passionate about your work and your (apparently scottish) heritage. You feel best when you've just pulled off a miraculous feat of engineering, and will celebrate with a round for your close friends, who you most likely met on the job. Watch out for that heavy scottish food, though, or you may end up with a pot belly and a bad mustache.

I may score as Scotty (not a bad thing I might add) I feel like a redshirt most days........good ole ensign Expendable

  4. Of the 3 listed my favorite is Forbidden Planet. One of my favorite classic movies is The Thing (From Another World) the 1951 version not the John Carpenter remake. (the Carpenter version does follow the original short story)

So far Hollyweird's plans to remake Forbidden Planet have fallen through.

BTW they are remaking the Carpenter version of The Thing, so Hollyweird will be giving us ANOTHER remake of a remake ala` War Of The Worlds.

  5. Mr. Clark was and will always be one of the greatest science fiction authors, nay authors period of all time. His books were more than just science fiction but visionary about the future. I hope he is with Asimov and Heinlein right now righting the greatest science fiction novel ever dreamed of and we will get to read it in the hereafter. His contributions to all of our lives goes far beyond his writing fiction. His work in science led to things we still rely on today. He fought long and hard to overcome a debilitating disease, he should be an inspiration to us all. Rest in peace you earned it and shall be missed by all.

  6. There actually was a flying car built in the 50's but it never succeeded in getting CAB (now called the FAA) approval.

The Moller company has been promising a flying car for several years now and has spent several million dollars of investor's money and so far no car. We may never see one in our lifetime.

  7. I watched the movie and as far as TV remakes go it is far better than the new Battlestar Galactca and Bionic Woman.

    It has several weak points:

No William Daniels as the voice of K.I.T.T. (actually a big weakness)

The script was rather weak compared to the original series pilot but passible

Edward Mulhare was the perfect foil as Devon Miles to Hasselhoff's Michael (this guy I'm not so sure of)

Where's Bonnie???????(sexy women mechanics, a car guys dream)

    Where's April??????? (see above)

The CGI morphing was stolen from Viper (I could do without the morphing)

If it becomes a series I will watch it, it's better than most of the dreck on TV these days.

BTW I have owned a couple of Mustangs in my lifetime and I am happy with the choice of car.

  8. I think Data should have died somewhere in the series or at least been transferred. The character started out being enjoyable but eventually became as annoying as another character that should have died and not just sent to Starfleet Academy....... Wesley Crusher.
