  1. As an action movie Nemesis was good, as a Star Trek movie it was mediocre. The best part of the movie was the running dune buggy chase and battle. I'm guessing that they were looking for a movie to attract fans of the action movie genre and failed at it considering the lackluster box office performance and lack of fan support. I gave it a 3.

The movie had some interesting highs and lows for me:

    Highs

    1) The dune buggy running battle and chase (Was somebody watching reruns of The Rat Patrol?)

    2) Data bites the dust (I have wanted Data and Wesley Crusher dead since the series)

    3) Picard's best man toast

    4) Mister Troi..... Nuff said!!! LOL

    5) Data.....shut up!!

    Lows

    1) ANOTHER!!!! Data (wasn't Lor enough for them)

    2) Data sings

    3) I was REALLY REALLY looking forward to the wedding on Betazed (Dr.Crusher and Deanna Troi only)

    4) Picard clone

    5) The texture/paint job on the Enterprise E

    6) The Romulan/Reman conflict was not handled well

I gave the movie a 3, it wasn't really very well written and was a poor send off to The Next Generation cast

  2. I think it is a great episode, introducing Q, my favorite character in my opinion was the best thing they could have done. In later episodes besides the sense of menace he portrayed he was also a bit of comic relief. It is a perfect fit John DeLancie is one of the funniest people I have ever met.

The only thing I didn't like about the episode was the jellyfish, a different form might have been better, the hand/tentacle holding didn't bother me as physical contact between mates is normal after separation. I liked them better before the tentacles unfolded.

  3. Somebody should give Shatner some cheese to go with his constant whine, as he gets older he whines more and more. Shatner follow your own advice from Saturday Night Live............. GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. My favorite species wasn't listed so I had to vote other. My favorite non human species is the Horta. While they may not be much to look at by human standards they have many qualities far beyond appearance.

They are intelligent, tolerant of other species, can show love, cause no harm to others, wish to live in peace with other species that may surround them. Humans should aspire to be half as tolerant and treat others as well as the Horta treat others.

  5. Shatner has done nothing but whine since 1970, oh boohoo I can't get work because I'm typecast as Captain Kirk , oh boohoo Nimoy Got to direct a movie and if I don't get to help write then direct one I quit, boohoo they are having the new movies with the Next Generation cast, boohoo I can't be in the new movie, I'm so popular it would make the movie do better.

    Gimme a frickin break!!!

Shatner grow some ***** and be a man and get over it. You just aren't worth it. Be Denny Crane and be happy.

  6. Shinzon struck me as a spoiled brat with a superiority complex, he wasn't menacing and his actions caused no forboding, kind of a requirement for a menacing character. He was about as menacing as a beagle puppy.

For a movie villain it has to be Kahn, he was ruthless, vicious, hateful, scornful, contempable, intelligent and a megalomaniac, a pretty dangerous combination. He took what he wanted and didn't worry about the consequences of his actions because he believed he was superior and could not be wrong in his actions. His drive for what he wanted was unparalleled in Trek.

The best tv villain was Gul Dukat, he was a a despot with a touch of "humanity" the conflict withing made him interesting.

A sort of villain that has a warm place in my heart is Harcourt Fenton Mudd, he wasn't particulary dangerous or vicious but the humor of the situations he got into made him a loveable "villain"

  7. I think Q is the greatest, the character adds humor along with menace a rare combination. The comment that Q was a mature member of his species is a bit off, he may be mature physically or in terms of time but maturity is a state of mind and being. I know many "mature" adults that are far from being mature in the intellectual and emotional sense. Remember the comment in the TOS episode Shore Leave where they are discussing the need for play amongst more advanced species?

I got to meet John De Lancie at a convention years ago and he was one of the greatest guests a con could have he's funny, interesting and actually cares about the fans. On Friday night at that con I was heading to my room at 1 am and there was a large group of fans sitting by a corner and lo and behold sitting on the floor with them and holding court was John De Lancie telling stories and jokes.

  8. As much as I am a fan of TOS I had to vote for Picard. Look at what the poor guy had to put up with , Data (shut up Data!!!), Wesley "want shove him out an airlock naked" Crusher, a ship with children. He handled crisis with more thought than Kirk but still could kick butt when needed. He was turned into a Borg and came out of it with most of his marbles.

Kirk is a very very close second, he would kick butt then think about the consequences later and if he had to ever put up with a ship full of children they would probably all have been calling him Captain Daddy.

  9. A female Betazoid would be the worst, if she were anywhere near as beautiful as Marina Sirtis and you just had a brief lustful thought she would know about it. Mind you it would be great if she reciprocated but chances are you would be in deep dodo.

  10. I thought it was a great episode, a group of us even named a convention after it.

It had it's silly stuff but was an interesting idea that worked pretty well. It's better than most of the 3rd season episodes.

  11. How about artificial butterflies in all of the flower arrangements at the wedding and reception and butterflies as part of the cake decorations?

You could also have artificial butterflies in your bouquet and those of the wedding party, a butterfly in the boutonnieres of the men in the wedding party if any will be wearing them.

If you will be using plastic "glassware" at the reception a decal of a butterfly could be put on them.

You could put an embroidered applique of a butterfly on your wedding dress.

If you will have thoses little boxes of chocolate for the guests make them in a candy mold shaped like a butterfly.

Need more ideas? give me a little time.

  12. Last night I taped and watched the new version of the Bionic Woman and was not that impressed. The new bionic woman doesn't ring true, the original Jamie Simmers would never have threatened to kill people.

The new version of Rudy Wells called Will Anthros did the operation just to save his girlfriend not to do his job for the government. He just ignores everything in order to get what he wants.

Where is Oscar Goldman? The guy replacing him is just a pure butt covering bureaucrat, just seems to care about C.Y.A. (cover your a$$)and not the people around him.

In updating the story for what I guess they see as modern taste and sensibilities the show has lost one of the things that made the original great, heart. While Jamie taking care of her sister is a selfless act, she otherwise seems cold.

Definitely not as good as the original series in my opinion, let's hear your thoughts.
