Well, to answer this I have to confess to being inefficient in the management of keys.
---the insignia of the of my homebuilder on the keyring with my housekeys
---a whistle ( for protection) on a keyring which had my old apartment keys
---two keys, including my office key on a ring attached to a wire that slips over my wrist
---the enblem of the University of Georgia on a set of keys containing other work-related keys
( it was a gift form my sister over 20 years ago)
---the door unlock/trunk open device on the ring with my car keys.
Generally, I leave the whistle behind. And merely count to make sure I have four sets of keys before I leave to go to work. Gloriously inefficient!

Nice discussion of a moving episode.

I like sausage, onions, tomatoes, and green peppers....
Or
chicken, onions, tomatoes, and green peppers....
Or
veggie lovers pizzas
from Pizza Hut.
There are also a couple of local pizza places I like to get pizzas from.
( I cannot fathom cottage cheese on a pizza, RC.....I cannot eat cottage cheese unless it is completely disguised by whatever else is in the dish....something one of my aunts liked to do because she knew I did not like to eat cottage cheese.....)

I'll list five now, and a few more later.
The Bible
Brave New World --Aldous Huxley
Nine Tomorrows --Isaac Asimov
The Hiding Place -- Corrie ten Boom
Having Our Say --- Sarah L. Delaney and A. Elizabeth Delaney, with Amy Hill Hearth

I think the NX-03 should be the Challenger. It probably will be based on the pattern thus far. The first space shuttle was Enterprise and the first NX class is the Enterprise. The Second shuttle was Columbia and the second NX class is Columbia. Since I assume Challenger was the third shuttle (please correct me if I'm mistaken) the third NX class will likely be Challenger. Excelsior is a good pick. I could also see Atlantis, Discovery, Endeavour, or perhaps Phoenix.I would like to see one of the NX class ships named after Challenger. If not NX-03, then another one.

I think Scott Bakula will continue to get roles. He is a versatile actor with a lot of experience.

I really liked the way DS9 ended, and have the two-part season finale on tape, and have watched it over and over again. It's funny how we all see things so differently!
I sitill have missed some episodes, so that series will be the first I will finish buying season sets for. I only have season four right now.
-
Well, I agree with everyone else about DS9 having better battle scenes.
-
Hope your second episode goes well!

That's a really famous error.

I work with young people of all types, so perhaps that is why I have never found Wesley Crusher
any more annoying than anyone else.
I think he should live to a ripe old age, and have to deal with his teenage grandchildren. Course,
he went off with that Traveller somewhere.....Hey---he might come back someday......

I guess I'll be watching very little television in the fall.....I'll probably get more of the season sets. And there is no point to buying a new television ( was planning to buy a nice one), because I am not willing to get cable and Enterprise was the only trek on network television.

I believe I gave this episode an 8.5....if not I gave it a 8.0. I forgot which because I was so busy reading all the other posts. I enjoyed the episode for the most part, but like some others got twisted up in the temporal mechanics.
Click for Spoiler:
One of the things that has always appealed to me about Star Trek is that the character's had principles and behaved responsibly. There is a big difference between showing a character make a mistake, accept responsibility and deal with it and in just brushing it aside as if it were nothing. We have seen other characters do that - It's the choice to do the latter rather than the former that has soured me on Enterprise.I certainly hope there is some kind of correction for some of Archer & crew's more serious infractions. I know the situation is desperate, but I hope some things are not left as they stand. The arc is not over yet...perhaps they will straighten some of this stuff out...especially with T'pol and her addiction.
One comment about addicts from first hand experience. I personally know a cocaine addict. Drug addicts are some of the most profoundly self-centered and selfish people on the planet, even when not on the stuff. They are a particular burden to those who love and care about them, who try to save them. I am not surprised by T'pol's behavior. Her first experience was enticing, but not instantly addictive...I agree with you on her bearing the brunt of responsibility for her situation. She made an informed choice.

I'm hoping he will survive, and that somehow the Xindi become a part of the founding of the Federation ( sort of like what Americans like to do..rebuild their enemies and turn them into friends). So I voted that way.
However, if they let Degra live, there will always be the possibility that someone will try to expolit his knowledge of how to build that terrible weapon.....

I agree with others that there are too many I like, and, besides Star Trek, I cannot narow down my favorites.
I noticed no one mentioned Outland or Total Recall. There were both excessively violent, but had interesting themes. They are not my favorites, but do make me think, which is what I like about sci-fi.
A good oldie is "When Worlds Collide." Also "War of the Worlds", "Forbidden Planet", and "The Day the Earth Stood Still." Those are all favorites.
I won't go on, because I have about thirty more years of favorites!

The whole state of North Carolina is beautiful. Welcome to the Carolinas.

Mr. Spock is the best science officer.

You know, I cannot vote in this poll, because I never found either of them annoying! I enjoyed Neelix's enthusiasm, and Wesley's inquisitiveness. I thought that Neelix especially was a fun character.

I'm greatful for what we sometimes call in church " a reasonable portion of good health." I am diabetic, but my diabetes is considered to be controlled. I'm glad. Last check of by blood hemoglobin was nearly in the normal range (that's with medication....I'm not on insulin.).

I find the choices people list interesting, whether it is a continent, or a specific museum or mall. For a while I sat there wondering, for instance, why VBG wanted to go to Fort Payne,
Alabama. I had never heard of it. What "important" thing could have happened there? Then it hit me.
It must be Elvis' birthplace!
Until VBG sets up straight I'm guessing it has something to do with the group "ALABAMA". Elvis was born in Mississippi btw
Oh, is that it?!! Well, as you can see, I don't know much about Elvis or Alabama! :P :P
Not a country/western fan. Not a rock fan. :P
So Elvis was born in Mississippi. Hmmm...Mississippi is one of the states I think I have not visited!
Still, I am not inclined to visit, although I know a couple people who live there, including a former boyfriend. I have been to the state of Alabama at least three times in the last nine years. In fact, Mississippi is the only southeastern state I have not visited---I have been to N & S Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, Tennessee....( all more than once except Florida!)

And we have seen other shape shifing species that were not connected with the founders. What about that species that was hunted by the Eska (sp) I think during Enterprise's 1st season? They were on a dark planet with a hunting party that hunted the shape shifters, and one of them sought out Archer for help. They were clearly not related to the founders. How do you know that that shape-shifter wasn't part of the founders. According to the Founder Female in "The Search" she states that 2000 years ago, the changlings were hunted and that they formed the dominoin. Who knows, maybe that chnageling in Rouge Planet might have been the beginnings of the founders.
Just a thought.
The Founders have to regenerate regularly. Remember Odo's bucket? He has to loose form and revert to a gelatinous mass.
The shape shifters on the dark planet had a snail-like form they reverted to when they were not shape-shifting. There was no great-link style pools. Remember that the "lady" who talked to Archer reverted to its shape when it left him for the last time?
And the hunters would not have wanted them for trophies if they did not have an actual form. They could tell the difference between the ages of the shapeshifters..remember, the young ones panic. The have actual beings very different from the founders.
Also the founders do not have the ability to reach into the mind like these shape shifters do. Would the founders "evolve" and loose such a vital survival tool?
They are not founders, in my opinion.

I chose the road less travelled by, as per Robert Frost's poem, "The Road Not Taken."

Do You Believe In Aliens?
in The Voting Booth
Posted
I voted not really. I have been a sci-fi fan since the eighth grade ( so for more than 3 decades folks!) but that does not make me believe there is actually a big, trek- like interacting alien civilization out there.
I am Chrisitian, and I beleive in Christ's return...that kind of clashes with the notion of first contact.
However, I do not think the Bible says there are no other created beings in the universe...I believe it is silent on the issue of life on other panets, and focuses on humans on Earth. It does mention angels and other created creatures dwelling in God's presence.
So I remain skeptical (but not admantly negative) about the actual existence of aliens.
