That's not true.e-mail was used in France until they used the French Canadian term Courriel. And this happened only this year.
And, even if we have a French term, we still use e-mail or courriel...
Oh, and I think it's normal that we want to use term in our own language. It would be English, japanese or latin, I think it's normal we want a term that means something.
Courriel comes from Courrier that means mail.
Any other question about French usage and POV?
Well said Ezri. France has been very lax at having terms from other languages creep into common use especially compared to Quebec. The laws regarding French language usage in Quebec are much, much tougher than France's laws.
Right
I'm in Quebec, and French Canadian, so I can talk.. lol
And the french terms are often created in Quebec first, you are right.
And we don't do that to boycott USA... Or the rest of the Canada

Really glad you can do 2 things you really like.
Being with us on the boards and be with your children

In the end the French are only after what is best for them (no matter what propaganda they try to spread) and at least the US does seem to care about the entire world with one billion dollars of funding for aids campaigns in Africa.I'm Canadian, so I null my vote. (Or I should have null it)
I wont tell my opinion here, because I don't want to start a war, since it seems to be a USA based Message boards.
But if USA says that they don't need France, I guess they don't need the rest of the world either.
We all live on the same planet, and some problem are collective ones. Some nations may disagree, but that's not a reason to leave them.
And, just a last point to think about...
Which Country help the US againts England for his independance?

What do you mean that there are no posts any more? We average about 400 per day.Wow!!!
I never realised they were so many posts!
And well, summer is always a slower period.. for anything

It was special and funny.
But I can't say it's one of my favorite...

This is getting to sound like general trivia to me.. hehe
Well, question about knowledge. Stuff we would learn at school (at art school for art.. stuff like that).
Art (we have art in ST), social science, applied sciences, computers..
I know I would be happy if we stay with Math and sciences tho. But I'm biased so...

I also think DS9 was a more Character driven series then any of the other ones. The lives if the crew were intertwined with the stories so much more.I totaly agree!
That's exactly why DS9 is my favorite ST serie too.

Myers-Briggs would say that you are an ISFJ (Introvert, Sensor, Feeler, Judger). In Star Trek language, you share a basic personality configuration with Beverly Crusher and Chakotay.
Click for Spoiler:
People like you are generally highly nurturing and caring. You're gentle and thoughtful, but also cautious, especially about exposing your inner self. You're highly protective of your privacy and share yourself with others as a sign of love. Once comfortable, however, you are quite affectionate. You also desire steady and unstinting love in return.
You're very literal and maintain a high awareness of the physical world. You are quite likely to have a highly developed sense of spirituality.
You are uncompromising about your personal standards and easily offended, especially when you do not feel appreciated or when people violate your personal space. You are diligent and conscientious, organized and decisive. You respond well to politeness. You enjoy productive routine.
Your primary goal in life is helping people in real ways. Your reward is stability in your daily life and people who support your feelings. You cannot have friends who would ever ask you to compromise your values.
Good careers for your type include primary care physician, chief medical officer, elementary school worker, guidance counselor, special education teacher, and genealogist.
That's not bad at all

For me, Starfleet always was the "army" of the federation.
In time of peace, using the equipement to explore and make new contact, helping people in needs and all during catastrophes.
In time of war, protecting the federation.
And those two goals aren't incompatible. Just depends of the time they are needed
-
In the offered choices (and due to the fact I don't consider federation as a race), I voted for the Klingons.
-
After the proper training and the experiences, yes, I would like it.
A lot of responsability, but a real chalenge.
-
Well, I hesitated btw Picard and Sisko.
And since Sisko is an underdog, I voted for him ;-)
-
I voted for Picard.

Well, the fight scene was okay.
I think I liked it
But I felt it was placed there as sole purpose of putting some action for Riker around.
And yes, after reading your post and reseing the scene, you are right about the revenge about Diana and all.
But well...
-
Dax or Sisko would be cool :-)
Garak would be.. mysterious...
And I would bring Bashir for a date.
-
Was there too!
And it was great fun ;-)

The episode that touched me the most on VOY was the one in which Icheb is brought home and he discovers that he SHOULD be assimilated by the Borg... I almost cried as I saw this... I think the episode went that way if not I am sorry I saw it only once :huh:I don't know how the episode is called...
Mrs. Captain Picard
Child`s Play
And I agree...
I would hate to learn that I would be born and raised for such a purpose...

Mushrooms, piments, peperoni, onions...
Sometimes, I put ham instead of peperoni.. Good too
So, I suppose it's 4 toppings here!

Personally, I wont kill you
This could have been a good trek movie.
They just took back too much things that make Star Trek what it is.
And put some that weren't (the boggie scene with the googles.. geez)
