  1. I voted yes despite the fact that I'm not quite sure what TV movies are. They sound very cool though.

BTW, is Emissary now a TV movie? I recently got the DS9 series 1 DVD and Emissary has been given a new production number (700 - something) and now both episodes are shown as one long 'movie', with no breaks in between.

  2. I was reading some random threads on IMDb forums and I came across a almost incredible amount of people saying that Star trek must be 'saved' and that there ideas would do be the ones that did it. While there were some bad ones:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Howabout a star trek tales series each weak a different ship, a different ctew, a different time, and a different place. Each episode would be different, all of the main charicters could die, bad guies could win. With the other series you are stuck with one crew, one ship, and one time (and part of the galixy).

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    And some not so-bad-ones:

Well, there were no not-so-bad ideas there, ALL of the ideas for a new show were flawed and not thought out, but some were worse then others (see above)

I don't think that Star Trek needs 'saving' in any way. I just wondered if anyone else had any thoughts on the subject.

  3. Which 2 aliens would you have as guests for a meal with you? They cannot be a major species (and obviously non-human either) e.g. no Vulcans or Bajorans. Only minor races from the world of Star Trek.

My choices would be Morn and a Pakled. You see, I enjoy stimulating and intelligent debate!

EDIT: VBG, would it be possible to get a Morn emoticon?

  4. Why should there only be hetrosexuals in the adventure of the Human condition?

The Human condition means for everybody. Why should Star Trek show someone going to the bathroom? Would you want to see someone taking a pee? It would kind of mean that it is sort a put off. Homosexuals in Star Trek? Star Trek can make a hint, but would you want it to happen? No, it used to be a family show for younger viewers to see imagination not breasts and seeing people jump into bed together. For example the Voyage Home, it had emotion and it had friendships in every movie. In any of the movies, did you ever hear anybody saying there should've been a sex sence with Spock and Saavak? No Star Trek, would've been lost by season two of The Next Generation.

You may find alot of people saying "Yeah, I wouldn't care, and I hope they do". At some point they will and those same people would be saying that they should've never done it. Star Trek already explored it in Rejoined, Jadzia Dax kissed another woman. Thats called a gay kiss.

We are not talking about including explicit intimate sex scenes between to people of the opposite sex. We are talking about the inclusion of homosexual characters in Star Trek. Why do a lot of people think that there would be a lot more 'sex scenes' with homosexual characters? I assume that if gay characters were in Star Trek then they would have relationships with other characters and the showing of these relationships would be exactly the same as hetrosexual couples. (i.e. hugging, kissing, maybe some mild nudity but nothing explicit.)

To jorel: Those are some darn fine quotes perfectly illustrating the points that make the inclusion of homosexual characters perfectly acceptable.

I'm sure some people who didn't think it would be wholesome family viewing if a dark skinned character was in Star Trek: TOS as well...

  5. Why? If the 11th movie was an enterprise movie then it would called ST:XI. (or Ent:XI) The timeline wouldn't matter. It would be the eleventh Star Trek movie made.

Hopefully of course the seventeenth Star Trek movie will be based on Ent, with eleven to sixteen all DS9.

It doesn't matter really whether the show has Star Trek in the title or not. It is Star Trek. I know it is different from all the other Star Trek shows (no UFP for one thing) but I would still rather that they had called it Star Trek: Enterprise. Has a nice continuality.

  6. Morphed Pagan holiday. It started out as a day set aside for all the evil spirits to do their mischief so that for the rest of the year the townsolk would be left in peace. I don't see it as Satanic as the people didn't worship these evil spirts, they were fearful of them. Hence the one day when everyone locked up their houses and left saucers of milk to appease the evil spirits wrath. And yes I mean evil spirits not demons. This was before christianity.

  7. Did Nog have to do the same thing Wesley did?

No. Nog underwent a series of holographical situations and his reactions to these situations were assessed by Miles O'Brien, who holds some kind of honorary teaching degree at StarFleet academy. If O'Brien thought that Nog handled the emergencies well enough then he would reccomend to StarFleet academy that they should allow Nog to join. By the way, Nog passed with flying colours.

  8. Wesley! I hated him. He was always perfect and showed off only good virtues. If they had only for once made his character do the wrong thing then he would have been so much more interesting and, well, human. Also, the way the rest of the crew treats him makes me visibly cringe. I could actualy take his genius boy-saves-the-day stuff, although those attributes didn't exactly endear him to me.

I realy didn't mind L Troi either way, although I liked her in the DS9 episode 'Fascination'. Reg was cool but I really liked Neelix, although I agree that they didn't do enough with his character.

WHAT IS ROM DOING IN THIS POLL?!? Sure at first he is a tad irritating but watching is confidence grow is great television. I think that it's 'Heart of Stone' where he finally stands up to Quark and from then on he's one of the best recurring characters ever!

    Go Rom! B)

  9. Okay, I know this post shouldn't be here but I couldn't find the games section and well...I'm kinda desperate.

I recently bought Starfleet Command 3 but when it was installed it refused to run, saying my PC did not have DirectX 8.1 or higher. In fact my computer has DirectX 9. I have tried reinstalling, manually installing DirectX 8.1 from the disk and I have even bought another version of the game. The same thing happens every time: When I try to play the game, an error box pops up saying my PC hasn't got DirectX 8.1 or higher and the game automaticly closes. Does anyone know what is wrong???

  10. That was a very good episode. Which ending wuld you have preferred: The real ending, where Kira finds out that she is a Bajoran after all but that some Cardassians are good people, or the original ending, where Kira does not know whether she is a Bajoran or a Cardassian and learns that who you are is important, not where you came from?

  11. As a Captain, what would be your favorite ship to command and your best crew to serve under you? This would be in a 'dream' scenario free of any constraints on the ship and crew. For example, a character can be dead or othwise incapacitated and can still serve onboard your ship.

I would have either the Vorcha or the Delta Flyer as my ship and I have no idea as to my crew.
