    I just didn't think that Riker's character changed at all. Nothing happened to him that changed how he saw things or how he felt and he didn't show any progression as a character. That said, having just this minute watched Star Trek: Generations, my metaphorical hat goes off to Commander Riker for his sterling performance in that movie. Hmmm, perhaps I have been too rash and unemotional in my judgement of Riker... :wow:

    I loathed Riker and loved Jadzia Dax. I'm not completley sure why but I always just thought that Riker was just too rash and unemotional as a character. Whereas Jadzia acts more like a real person and made me feel different emotions and perspectives of things... (Riker only made me feel a slight indegestion)

    Im rather glad that the didn't make his character enter StarFleet. Having another regular, every episode talking chracter wold have made the episodes conjested. DS9 might also have had another 'Wesley Crusher' on its hands. (where Wesley is mildly headstrong only to learn the error of his ways and the finer points of StarFleet philosophy... every... episode...) The way they did it, Jake was an intresting, refreshing character who offered a slightly different viewpoint and who never outstayed his welcome. Unlike Wesley, Jake was more grown up and never tedius.

    Hello everyone! I thought this would be a good place to start learning all these complex controls. I wish the best of luck to all o' ya. Its time to celebrate in the UK, DS9 has finaly started coming out on DVD! :wow: :o :D
