  1. Can anyone think of any duets of acters that really worked well together? My favourite ever is probably Garak and Bashir althougth VOY comes a close second with Seven of Nine and the Doctor.

  2. The problem with making any more movies now is that TNG is finished. It has had its moment and now it's time to drag it off screen before it gets boring and deriative. However, both DS9 and VOY ended their series very abruptly and definitely, leaving little room for a movie. And Ent is far to early on yet.

    So it appears that for movies we shall have to make do with a new cast, probably with the occasional old character popping up somewhere, or we introduce TNG for one more season with the Enterprise-E, set after the conflict with the Dominion et al. This would (possibly) set us up for one more TNG movie...

  3. DS9 writers missed an incredible oppurtunity, probaly the biggest ever on a Star Trek. Instead of using this plot for the whole plot of DS9, they used the Dominion war. Don't get me wrong, I loved the war. However I think that they made a big mistake in using it...

    Instead of the Dominion having centre stage in the plot, it should have had the alternate universe that was shown in season 2 in The crossover. In that show a fault in a runabout whilest entering the wormhole somehow leads Kira and Bashir to some kind of altrnate universe. There, the Klingons and the Cardassians have allied, the Federation have been destroyed with the Humans subjugated and Bajor is still under occupation. Whilest there we meet several 'alternate' characters such as Sisko who is a Pirate Captain in league with the Klingons and Cardassians and Kira, who is leader of Bajor ad also in league with the oppressors. To cut a long story short, Kira and Bashir escape but lead the Klingon and Cardassians to the wormhole, which they had not known existed and Sisko decides to lead the enslaved humans into rebelling against the Klingons and Cardassians. Before this however, we hear their Kira talk of somehow entering the 'real' universe by force...

    This is a fantastic episode and sets up many questions. Is the Human emancipation succesful? Do the Cardassians and Klingons really want to invade the 'real' universe? And so forth. But then, nothing! A poor episode about them trying to steal an orb 4 seasons later and thats it. Absolutly zilch.

    Instead of the Dominion being the main bad guys during the war, the alternate 'Cargons' (Klingon - Cardassian, my term :lol: ) could enter and be the main foes. The Dominion would still be there of course as they set things up and give a new perspective to the Trek universe. Don't ask me the exact plot as I only thought of this a few minutes ago. But just think how many new storylines this would open up. For example, The Cargons could ally with the Cardasians and attempt to persuade the Klingons to swap sides. Klingon ships from their side could pretend to be ships from our side and vice-versa. StarFleet could help the Humans liberation. The list goes on. Two more things, THINK OF THE UNDERCOVER MISSIONS!!! And don't forget what allies the Federation ould gain from this. Alternative Romulans anyone? Or how about two Siskos figting side-by-side. *sigh*...

    *looks up* Dang. Sorry about the length. I also haven't explained it very well. Oh well. The main point is that I think they severely underused the alternative universe ploy. I beleive that DS9 would have been a better show if they HAD used it. Thanks ya'all.

  4. SESKA! A treacherous adversary who always kept surprising Janeway and her crew. I hated her, for endangring Voyager's wellbeing but as a character for the show she was fantastic!

    I hearby declare that all shall hail Seska! :lol:

  5. Nah, take it with a pinch of salt and you'll be fine. What really bugs me is useless amounts of smilies people use. ARRGGGH! Think of the memory wasted people...

    :flex: :( :tear: B) :P B) :wow::grin: :huh: ;) B) :( :lol: :borgqueen: :huh: :flex::eek: :)

    Meet my family...:P

  6. Actualy, Voy and TNG had some broad similarities, both single ships exploring the unknown for example. Although of course there were a few tiny differences...

    For me, DS9 was an attempt at something different. A stationary station instead of a roving ship with a deeper, more continous storyline then TNG's short shows. Voyager regained the ship, as did DS9 (at very good timing for the plot, arguably the best season plot EVER), but kept the continous storylines, at least for the first few seasons. A winning combination. :lol:

  7. Unfortunately I don't know many actors so I can't really answer your question. But I think that the opening cast were good and that they never needed any more new characters then the ones they had at the time. In the later seasons the addition of a couple of new characters kept things fresh whilst not making the series unfamiliar.

  8. At least he wasn't overused, like a certain young man onboard the Enterprise-D that I know of... ;)

    I actualy didn't really mind WC. Whenever he took a 'primary' role in an episode he was often good , such as when the whole crew of the Enterprise is obsessed by a mind game/controller and he must find a way to stop its effects, but his performances as a 'secondary' character were woefully abismal. I think that they tried to hard to impress his character on people and so overkilled him, except for the few occaisions where such attention on him was warranted.

  9. Or maybe, spookily, he is Chakotay! Maybe this is some wierd, new Borg plot to infiltrate the Voyager crew and turn them into profesional boxers, thus eradicating their knowledge of their anti-Borg weapons, thus paving the way to Earth!!! :wow: Who will Janeway turn into? Find out, on the next edtion of Voyager...

    ...or maybe not... :D
