  1. Good point. Your an android..seems kindof silly to make this argument..if that..How do you seek help? Get your brother who you've tried to kill numerous times to lend aid?

Or go to Starfleet who would send you to Maddox or Halftel who would probably dismantle you rather than fix you.

OK, OK you two I see your points! Hey, I'm just trying to give him a chance (And,yes, I know I said that many times before). Actually, in Brothers he did ask Soong why he didn't fix him. And, Soong said there wasn't time. OK, maybe it is just me, but instead of doing another bad thing(murdering his father and incapacitating his brother) why did he not try asking again. . .in that short time (which may have been longer, if he didn't kill Soong!) something may have been done. Even if it was a small adjustment.

Yes VaBeachGuy, I think he did have the capactiy to be good! Doesn't everyone?

  2. For villains its a toss up between Q and Lore (and I chose Q)...but if he was on that list I would have chosen BARCLAY! how could you for get him? How? HOW? (Sorrym lol)

I'll be honest - I forgot about Barclay. I like him too. It is so nice to know that not everyone is perfect in the 24th century and that there are screw-ups like him in Starfleet.

Actually I had forgotten about Barclay as well, HE IS HILARIOUS!

  3. I don't follow there music very much, with one exception. . .I LOVE Stairway To Heaven! And don't laugh, I got the sheet music and have begun to learn how to play it on my clarinet! Just as much. .don't laugh, my dad actually won a talent competition when he was younger playing Stairway To Heaven on an. . . .ACCORDION! Everyone expected him to play Lady Of Spain, and he blasted them away when he played Led Zepplin! Gotta LOVE a GREAT SONG! I actually have a copy of the London Philharmonic(I think it was them) playing that song. . .just as awesome as the real deal I think!

  4. With the war going on it is incredibly difficult to find a place where it is not being discussed. Give you an example, I went to work today. ..and in a playground I walked past two eight year old children (one being a student of mine) discussing what they heard and saw on the news and radio about the war and what they think. 8-YEAR OLDS! Personally, I tend to catch the updates on the radio more than anywhere else. Plus the coverage only is on the top of the hour, unless something major occurs. So one doesn't get too bogged down with every little detail. Yes I am concerned, after all, I am the daughter of a retired disabled veteran! It's just that I have other things going on in my life and don't dwell on some subjects very long.

  5. Looking beyond may seemed contrived but, I still don't think he was purely evil. He knew what he was doing was wrong, he even admitted that he had problems. . . .but, then he didn't really push to get help either . That is the true conundrum that is Lore!

  6. interesting Alyssa Ogawa...never even thought about her..cool thinking Soong.

Well, come on she was there for a good period of time in the final two seasons, plus she appeared in First Contact. I thouight she was a better choice then Pulaski and Crusher since those two grate on my nerves! Hey, and she was never a main character before. . .now would be her chance!

  7. Believe me DSBS, if you KNEW my coworker you'd want to throw something at him too! The part of him that I kinda think is Riker-esque is that he flirts with all the women, including me. He kinda thinks that he is God's gift to women, married, single, younger or much older. . .he does not care he thinks he's a stud. He hates this and I DID tell this to his face. . .THE SIGHT AND SOUND OF HIM MAKES ME WANT TO THROW UP! He is also has bizarre mood swings (yes this is a GUY here!) hes happy and saccharine one moment and then full of depression and mild anger the next! I sometimes wish I could run screaming out of the building just to get away from him!

  8. I voted for Khan but I never had a problem  with Loyd as a Klingon because I saw ST III when it came out which was a good two years before Back to the Future and I never watched taxi at that time so I simply saw him as a real mean Klingon.  I thought he gave a great over the top performance. He would have been my second pick.

Besides he had Kirk's son killed.  Now that's bad.

Yeah I know that is how many saw Trek III, you know before Back to the Future. But I actually got started with Trek in this manner. . .When my mom found out that TNG was going to come out, she rented as many Star Trek movies as there were by the time of late '86 - early '87(I was six at the time). She also did this because she was a TOS fan when she was younger (and still kinda is, but when TNG started she kinda converted to a TNG fan!) and that I was interested in space and space travel since I was 3 or 3 1/2. So I sat there and watched a TOS movie marathon. I can't remember which I saw first Trek III or Back To the Future, but I had remembered him more from BTTF as Doc Brown. I hope that you were not offended by my remark about finding Chris Lloyd's Kruge hard to take seriously. If you were offended, I am sorry.

  9. Any deaths except "Enterprise" (the new 'series') and Wesley are devestating. :)

OK, that was hilarious. I know there are Enterprise and Wesley fans out there somewhere (I don't personally know any. . .I am a fan of Data and TNG first and foremost!), and I know that staement may get on their nerves. . .but to me it is completely. . . :) :) :)

and as for the B4 comment from another post , I certainly think he will (and SHOULD) mature greatly by the time we see him again! Even though I (and a few others) are hoping to see Data comeback somehow, someway. . even just briefly!

  10. I am still not sure about a mixed cast movie. . .I guess you would need flashbacks of some sort or a spacial anomaly to bring in the NX-01 crew, and the Voyager to somehow meet up with the DS9 crew. OK, I know that I am truly a fan of only TNG. . .but, I sorta think that Voyager, DS9 and even Enterprise fans kinda need a chance to see their favorites on the big screen! Like the TOS fans had for 6 movies! And like I did, seeing my favorite as more of a main character on the TNG movies(OK, so Data was ALWAYS more of a main character on the series. . .but of course the preceeding statement is in my opinion!

  11. Don't worry soong_girl about not being able to read the German! I used to frequently check Trek Today ( I think I remember you saying that you go there too, right?) and some of the articles I really wanted to read, but when I clicked on the link it went to the German Trek page! And although I am part German on both sides of my family, and took 3 years of German in high school. . . I still could only translate one third to half of it! And that just got to be a headache!

And I know what you mean about the IMDB being unreliable at times, I looked up a couple actors and saw them marked in movies that I knew they weren't in (tried to think of a good example, but it escapes me right now!_ And I went back and watched those movies, just in case I was mistaken and by the end credits I wasn't mistaken at all!

  12. Borg nightmares, you got that one right! and I am sure that Data probably did have nightmares, he can dream after all. I believe that if I was around the Borg, I'D have nightmares. Yes, Lessa I think that you are right, with Q you have a chance of talking him out of it, and talking with the Borg is kinda talking to a brick wall!

  13. I don't think he's particularly evil, however his actions were evil and I hated the way he treated his brother. But like Lessa stated, I definately agree that he is an ego on feet! I think he was pretty mean and maybe a little maladjusted, but, after the way he was treated by the colonists (at least from what Soong and Lore had said) no wonder he turned out the way he did! There was probably no way for him to avoid being angry and bitter, wouldn't you be if you were treated that way?

I think he DID need a chance though.

  14. Congratulations Yillara.  This place rocks!

Seeing how it takes 501+ posts to make captain, maybe our goal should be April, 2004. :dude:

Yep. 2004 seems like a more logical assesment! Hee, hee but darn it , we are gonna try aren't we?

  15. Congratulations Data.  Of course you do realize how jealous some of us are that you got here before us and snagged that name.

Come on soong_girl, you knew that HIS name is too GOOD of a name to go unused!

  16. Is there anyone here younger than 14 i'm starting to wonder.

Sorry. I am going to be 23 in apporximately 1 month, 1 week and 2 or 3 days(if I got the math right). I am the oldest of three siblings who all like Star Trek TNG(My sister turned 21 today and my brother is 17). My mom was a fan of TOS, but prefers TNG and she is turning 48 this year.

There are other Trek fans closer to your age that I know but, I don't know if they come to these sites, or even if they are online. I used to teach them, and they'd be about 12 and 11 now. And I am sure there are many more!

  17. OK, I voted for E. But I loved D as well, after all I grew up with that ship! And it was also tough on me to vote since I have planned to become an astronaut since I was 3, and I saw Space Shuttle on the list!

As for the Stellar Cartography, I loved that room! About as much as the room in the movie Mission to Mars (where the 3 astronauts meet the Martian inhabitant)! I want those rooms !!! I settled for painting my ceiling dark blue and using those glow in the dark stars to make my version of the night sky (would have loved to do an actual star chart, but I only had 8' x 10' to work with, and I wanted specific constellations to be there! )
