  1. I didn't see Samoa. Actually the only reason I got into this season was I wanted to see Jerri and Colby go at it again. (Of course I stayed for Sugar.) You might be right about the timing. Still, I wouldn't think they would let someone play again with only 10 days to recover.

And yes, I remember Boston Rob's hat.

I just looked them up, filming dates for Season 19 were June 11, 2009 – July 19, 2009. Filming dates for Heroes vs. Villains was August 9, 2009 – September 16, 2009. So there were 21 days between filming sessions.

    Just for reference sake:

Rupert's first season was Pearl Islands and filming was June 23, 2003 – July 31, 2003 then went back on All Stars November 3, 2003 – December 11, 2003.

Stephanie and Bobby John played in Palau from October 27, 2004 – December 4, 2004 then went back to Guatemala from June 22, 2005 – August 5, 2005.

Amanda and James played in China from June 25, 2007 – August 02, 2007 then went back to Micronesia from October 29, 2007– December 6, 2007.

I can't think of any others that played in multiple seasons back to back.

  2. From what I've read he didn't know how Samoa turned out by the time this season started. He went into this season fully believing that he had won Samoa so he basically played the same game thinking that he'd win a second season back to back with the same strategy.

I think there was only 10 or so days between filming of the seasons, if you notice the ponderosa videos are at the same ponderosa as season 19 and all of that was destroyed by the tsunami last year.

Don't forget also, he was going to try to get Boston Rob's hat to hide also. That was around the second or third episode of the season.

  3. Update, the claim was rejected. Shame it was, I was starting to come up with all kinds of claims because of them bombing the moon a while back...

In 2005, Marina Bai, a Russian astrologer, sued NASA for £165 million for “disrupting the balance of the universe”. She claimed that the space agency’s Deep Impact space probe, which was due to hit a comet later that year to harvest material from the explosion, was a “terrorist act”. A Moscow court accepted Russian jurisdiction to hear the claim but it was eventually rejected.

  4. Well, now that the season is complete and we saw how Russell acted at the reunion I stick by my thought that he is the worst player ever. He has no understanding about how to win the game and told Jeff point blank that he didn't care about that aspect of the game.

Getting to the end is all well and fine, but you have to win the jury vote to win the game.

Sandra burning his hat was classic!

  5. In Fizzbin -- "The second card is turned up, except on Tuesdays." (TOS, "A Piece of the Action)

I also think there is one in Voyager's Endgame, where mentally challenged Tuvok says something about Janeway visiting on a specific day of the week.

That's right, I haven't looked at the list in the links above yet but those are a couple of instances that I remember now that you mention them. I guess it wasn't quite as rare as I was thinking lol

Still, it was odd to hear Sisko say that about Friday.

  6. Looking back on Enterprise now that it's been gone for 5 years, season 3 is my least favorite of the series. I enjoyed it as it was playing out in first run but now I tend to skip through most of the season when I watch the DVD's. I'll hit an episode here and there, like North Star or a few others but on the whole I skip through them.

Why? Well the whole arc was somewhat of a downer. The whole concept. I wish they had focused more on developing the Human/Andorian (Archer/Shran) dynamic and moving toward the formation of the Federation than coming up with a new alien race that will never be seen again to fight with.

There were some good stories but all in all they just didn't fit the franchise very well. Seasons 1, 2 and 4 were great. I especially like the Vulcan trilogy in the 4th season.

  7. It was also a holodeck 'fantasy' of sorts so it could be explained away that way, but if it's not a real rank then you'd think that Bashir would notice this. Having been in the military I had seen every rank insignia that was in use, if I suddenly saw a rank insignia that was different I'd ask questions about it.

The only rank that I didn't personally encounter in person would be General of the Army (5 stars) and that's because there were (and still aren't) none in the Army while I was in. Of course if there had been I still probably wouldn't have personally encountered him (or her). Of course my personal experience only includes members of the Army, I did have some encounters with members of other branches and some foreign military members as well.

I also noticed something about Sloan last night that I hadn't noticed before, but that's another thread. I'll post it if I can't find a reference to it somewhere eles in our database.

You mean the bar under his rank insignia in Inquisition?

Yeah, I don't recall ever noticing it before. Either that or old age is catching up with my memory lol

  9. They were right underneath in a box marked: Days of the Human Week (there's a similar one for months).

I didn't want to post all seven links originally as I thought the link to the Week page with the box underneath would be enough. But it's no big deal.

Yeah, I saw that but in conjunction with the rest of the page Ijust assumed that it was a further explination of what "Sunday" meant or "Monday" or whatever.

I'll look through the days and see where the references are, I do remember the one with the Doctor now that I read that there. It's just one of those things that's fairly rare in the 700+ hours of Trek episodes so when I heard Sisko mention Friday it rang a bell.

Like I said thoug, when I have a minute I'll look through the list and see how many of those references are in the "Trek" universe vs. how many may be like the Doctors where it's in a holosuite. Not that that makes much of a difference.

I also noticed something about Sloan last night that I hadn't noticed before, but that's another thread. I'll post it if I can't find a reference to it somewhere eles in our database.

  10. Seven was pretty to look at and was a good character on the show, I think she made Voyager a lot better. Not that I didn't like Kes but I thought her character had reached it's limit in development.

I wouldn't say that Seven was the best civilian character though, prettiest maybe but not the best.

  11. This will probably kill the topic but I found individual lists on Memory Alpha related to the days of the week.

    http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Week#Week

I was talking about the specific reference to a specific day like Sisko saying that he hates Fridays now because that's the day that casualty lists are released.

Episodes, not that I can think of but the first thing I thought of when I saw the Topic was a line(s) from GEN about equipment not being installed onto the Ent B until Tuesday.
I had forgotten about that and that would count as a reference to a day of the week even though it's in a movie, but in the episodes themselves I can't think of any others. Just off the top of my head the only other reference that I can think of is the TOS Episode "Friday's Child" but that's just the episode title.

I'm sure there must be some other reference within the 700+ hours of episodes to a specific day of the week but I can't think of them at the moment.

  12. I was just re-watching the DS9 episode "In The Pale Moonlight" (had to re-watch it since I just got a text from Mandy saying that she didn't like it too much) and I noticed something, Cpt Sisko is talking about the posting of casuality lists and he says "I've grown to hate Fridays".

It's the only instance that I can think of in any Star Trek episode where a specific day of the week is mentioned. I can't think of any TOS, TNG or Voyager episodes that mention a day of the week. Enterprise could because they weren't using Stardates yet but I can't think of a specific instance there either.

Can anyone else think of any episodes that mention a day of the week?

  13. (I don't ban people so you're not banned)

    You lying sack of excrement!

I mean sheesh, I make one joke about Chinese penises when my warning level is 90% and I can't post for a month!

You might want to double check and see who suspended you back whenever that was. It wasn't me. Had I banned you though it would have been permanent, not a month long thing and any of the mods can verify for you that I completely resist banning anyone from the site.

As for my statement of not banning, I was referring to this thread. On the site there have been a couple of occasions where I did have to ban a spammer or two.
