Lollypop 0 Posted July 3, 2003 I think that it was the right choice to turn it down. Human beings shouldn't have too much power, we are too inmature to handle it...You know the old saying Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely We would probably cause more damage by trying not to. nellis 0 Posted July 3, 2003 If he could have kept it with him still being Riker then yes. If he had aken it and he became mean and annoying then no. So I voted Don't know.
JTKirk1 0 Posted July 3, 2003 Got to go with no couldn't see any human having Q powers without some kind of consequences, but hey that's just me.
Yillara Skye 1 Posted July 4, 2003 Riker bugs the heck out of me(not my favorite at all), and I am positive he could have become more irritating,IMO, if he kept the power... so I voted No.
A l t e r E g o 9 Posted July 4, 2003 I voted no. Not in this Universe at least, would be great to find out the Mirror Riker kept the power! :)
Goose 0 Posted July 4, 2003 Stardate:213504.9 I agree with Lollypop. If Riker would of kept the power no matter what his good intentions would of been.I believe nothing good would of come out of it.
Stelfan 0 Posted July 4, 2003 Humans have a tendency to use power in the wrong way, so no he was right not to keep them.
TrekkieMage 0 Posted July 4, 2003 I voted for 'I don't know' because I'm not sure, I'm leaning torwards saying no, but I'm really not sure.
RikerChick 5 Posted July 4, 2003 No way. No human should have that power. And besides, he's perfect the way he is.
ddillard 2 Posted July 4, 2003 I am not really sure. If he could have been able to keep his personality and restrict himself to only using it for good then maybe, but as we saw in the episode he was unable to use it responsibly and therefore I would have to say no. Mr.Picard 12 Posted July 4, 2003 I am not sure, too. I think he could have helped the Enterprise a lot with his power. But Jean-Luc made him promise not to use the power so he could not do it. But on the other hand I think it is not good to give a "weak" human such a strong power. He could use it not only to help if he is being annoyed of someone (I imagine Riker turning Wesley into a bottle :) ).... So I finally say: NO. He was right giving the power back to Q. Mrs. Captain Picard
Ezri Dax 0 Posted July 5, 2003 No... Power change can change any man... Especially when they are unlimited...
removed 0 Posted July 8, 2003 i voted no. power corrupts the mind. (but when did this happen? i dont think ive ever seen this episode.)
Yillara Skye 1 Posted July 8, 2003 i voted no. power corrupts the mind. (but when did this happen? i dont think ive ever seen this episode.) The episode is Hide and Q And I agree there is many people out there who are not cut out to have power, since it corrupts them so violently. Even the best leaders/rulers have been corrupted even in the smallest ways.
Mike 5 Posted July 8, 2003 No..He would've have turned bad..Power does that..Maybe in a Mirror universe it would be good to have that power..

Data 0 Posted July 8, 2003 I really do not know. It could of been neat. But it would be neater if Data had Q powers. Maybe He would not have died. :)
Yillara Skye 1 Posted July 8, 2003 I really do not know. It could of been neat. But it would be neater if Data had Q powers. LoveMalePecs1 0 Posted February 15, 2004 (edited) What ur forgetting other than Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely was that in "HIDE AND Q" in the 24 th Century Mankind isn't quite ready or prepared for those powers Q-Like ("that in this case being able to Control Time And Space and and anything else u can imagine") not at our Present stage of development or the 24th Century someday we will be able to control Powers like that Far Future Time???? :P Edited February 15, 2004 by LoveMalePecs1
